How do I remove those proof of purchase labels on the back of my N64 box without stripping the color off?

Warm it up with a hair dryer. After the glue is weak stab at it with a screw driver and scrape the rest off with a potato chip
Hey guys, I run a website dedicated to arcade stick gaming and would like to raise awareness of this niche interest. It is pre-dominantly a retro focused website but there are contemporary games mixed in there.
Website:
http://arcadesigma.weebly.com/
So what are your favorite games to play that weren't designed for arcade sticks but are still very playable on one?
>>3414467
seems cool
probably wanna add a link to Fightcade somewhere on there
>>3414467
>werent designed for arcade stick
ive tried this time and time again, but i can't play platformers on stick
but i do playing retro RPGs because it feels dope plinking a summon or simple battle command
Who was more challenging to face?
The guy with the X name who is a final boss, obviously?
Xaero. His aiming was deadly accurate, he used the railgun, and the level design didn't allow cheap play.
Anaki you could easily get closer or use rockets splash damage.
Xaero, hands down.
That said, I REALLY enjoyed 1v1'ing Klesk on his map (q3tourney Hell's Gate).

Doom? Honestly, it's drop n go. Duke Nukem too. Quake. Literally almost any FPS of that era.
I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as DOS, is in fact, IBM/DOS, or as I've recently taken to calling it, IBM plus DOS. DOS is not an gaming platform unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning IBM system made useful by x86 processor, memory management and vital system hardware comprising a full gaming platform as defined by Wintel.
Many computer users played on a compatible version of the IBM system in the past, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of IBM which was widely used today is often called DOS, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the IBM PC compatible, developed by IBM Corporation.
There really is a DOS, and these people were using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. DOS is the operating system: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The operating system is an essential part of an gaming system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete gaming system. DOS is normally used in combination with the IBM gaming system: the whole system is basically IBM with DOS added, or IBM/DOS. All the so-called DOS PCs are really compatibles of IBM/DOS!
I'm looking for english translations of the games never released in the US.
Specifically, Fuuin no Tsurugi. Also looking for the SNES ones, Seisen no Keifu, Monshou no Nazo, and Thracia 776.
I've checked out the sticky, and couldn't find any english roms of those, though I did find some huge collections of SNES and GBA games that I was happy to grab.
>>3413831
You can find them with a quick google.
I guess I'm mostly asking which sites I can trust. I've seen plenty of sites that say they have a translation, but I've not had much luck before.

Do you ever imagine what itd be like to play 2d platformers from a first person perspective? Sort of like playing the game in their normal fashion but experiencing it in a realistic VR way. I think games that have serious moments would benefit from this, like running away from Scrabs in Abe's Odyssey or jumping from wall to wall in Shinobi. Just imagine as Abe jumping from ledges and dropping into an area where a gate unlocks a Scrab that starts chasing after you, and you have to run away to avoid the Scrab from killing you. With first person, there is shock from not noticing the cage with the Scrab, and the feeling of being hunted would feel more immense as you're actually in the players shoes. Just a thought.
Check out Zelda 2 FPS

> what itd be like to play 2d platformers from a first person perspective?
Like the Megaman Doom.
>>3413765
What I meant was playing the game within the same genre, so still playing it like a normal Mega Man..
mednafen sega saturn keeps playing games as an audio disc
i need some assistance to enjoyhouse of the deadagain
>>3413016
Why are you not using SSF?
Also how do you use Mednafen with the gui or not?
doesn't house of the dead emulate on MAME?
>>3413016
>house of the dead
1. emulate the much better arcade original (I think it is Modeler that emulates all model 1-2-3 games, don't remember)
2. use SSF
3. buy a Saturn and use swap trick
What do you think are some missed opportunities in /vr/ history?
My laments:
>No Metroid 64
Could've been great, maybe.
>No mainline Mario game for Game Boy Color
Well, we got Wario Land 3 and SMBDX, but I still would've wanted a fresh adventure, something like what the the SML trilogy was to the Game Boy.
>>3411892
>Metroid 64
I don't know about that. If Metroid made the transition to 3D, god knows how that would have gone. I read somewhere that the official reasoning was the lack of solid ideas for a 3D Metroid. Retro Studios came around in '98 and being the baby company they were I doubt Nintendo would have handed off Metroid to them at that point. The best case scenario would have been a gorgeous 2D sprite based 64-bit metroid. Holy crap that would have been cool. Nintendo would've never went through with it though because the entire 3D movement pushed 3D renditions of old games and a 2D follow up could have easily been ignored and seen as too "primitive" or lazy.
>>3411927
My thoughts exactly. Sure, the N64 was new and everybody wanted to jump into the 3D bandwagon, but looking at Mischief Makers, who knows what beauty we could've seen if the whole Metroid 64 development team took 2D as a deliberate, serious and well-planned design choice.
>>3411892
Shadowgate Rising was almost done and to be released on N64 back then.
I wanted to play that so badly, dammit.
now I have to wait for Zojoi doing a kickstarter for that. Raven, the hot redhead sorceress needs her own game.

Is it worth replaying the Warcraft games?
What is the best setup to use?
>>3410694
Yes.
Warcraft II is cute. CUTE!
>>3410723
Is Stargus good to use?
This game was better than SMB3
The first? Nah.
The second? Maybe.
>>3410396
Fun game but it wasn't made by the normal Mario team and it shows. It doesn't even rank in the top 5 2D Marios. Music is catchy as fuck tho
>>3410407
Mario Land 2 was great... for a handheld game. It feels closer to a traditional Mario title than the first but it still controls semi-oddly. I loved that you could choose which worlds to beat first but that also meant that most worlds had roughly the same difficulty level (except for maybe the Space Zone.) Still is quite a ways away from SMB3-tier
I'd have a much harder time deciding if Wario Land 2/3 were better than SMB3
>>3410396
Super Mario Land is great, but dude, that's not a fair fight that you're trying to have there.
I want to get into the Wonder boy / Monster world series and would like to know which game is the best place to start.
I would like a game that aged well. I'm not that difficult when it comes to retro games though, but I want to play something that can still be relevant and that is somehow a good depiction of the series.
I know 3 games are available on XBLA/PSN so if it could be one of those it's a plus.
Just play then chronologically, then do the same for The Adventure Island series
>I would like a game that aged well
Monster World IV is your best choice. It has great graphics and fun gameplay. Imo, is one of the best Sega Genesis games.
Aging in gaming is a completely subjetive concept that depends on what you're used to play. So tell us what you're used to play.
If you don't have problems getting into SMB1, you can get into the first Wonderboy just fine. Then play everything in release order, and the Adventure Island sequels too.
Should i get this for 3DS?
>>3410029
Yes.
Yes, unless you plan on missingno exploiting for Sun & Moon
No, get Blue, Yellow doesn't have Meowth.
For you it's 1994 ? 1998 ? Or maybe 2000 ?
People will reply with the years they have best memories of
1982/3 was a great time, although it was largely hit and miss. It was right in the middle of the boom so there were coders and publishers alike everywhere trying to cash in.
1991 had good games across the board. The Mega Drive had some of its best games released that year, Lemmings was released for the Amiga, and Another World came out.
I was more aware in 1991 so I'll go with that as the best year in games.
There are wikipedia articles for every "year in gaming" and a quick browse of those really shows that the idea of the mid to late 90s and very early 2000s being a real peak.
Marathoning Star wars right now
