Krakens are some of my favorite enemies of that game.EB is memorable, but gameplay is trash outside Ness' Nightmare. I am not a rabid fan of EB.

The technique isn't bad, but I agree that the overall quality of it is a bit crude.

>7-Zip changes the .7z files to .bin instead of .iso
Am I doing something wrong or am I just retarded? Can anyone help me with these problems? Straight .iso files of discs 1&2 of MGS would be appreciated.
>inb4 www.google.com
If I had tried that and it worked, I wouldn't be here.
Take a screenshot of the error you get from FBA.
I'll just describe it to make sure thread stays alive, it says the ROM is detected, and at the end says
The ROMset exhibits the following problems:
~essential data is missing, the game will not run!
~program data is missing.
~graphics data is missing.
I assume Fightcade is some sort of emulator frontend.
What emulator is used for Jojo's? MAME or FBA?
If the former, newer versions of MAME require qsound.zip to run CPS2 and CPS3 games. If the latter, there is clone of the rom that is labeled (NO CD) is called jojobane.zip
Use that, as FBA doesn't handle CHD images.
Also, PSX games are supposed to be dumped as .bin and .cue files. If its actually a .iso file, then its a bad dump. Most PSX games are multitrack Mode 2/XA images not the traditional ISO 9660 format.

Did any of you guys actually own this thing back in the day? What did you think about it back then?
Do any of you guys currently own this thing? What do you think about it now?

Had the NES Deluxe Set from Sears (retail price in May 1987 $249.99 USD). I only ever played R.O.B. with Gyromite because it came with the system (never played Stack-Up).
It was really one of those things where I'd take him off the shelf if a friend came over and said "what does that robot do?" I probably have more time spent just playing with the tops and spinner than the game.
He's deep in a storage unit, but last time I tested him (April 2012) he and all the parts still worked 100%. It's a fun curiosity with an interesting backstory (basically a trojan horse to get into toy stores burned by the gaming crash in the early 80's) but honestly I'd rather play Duck Hunt.
>>3406570
I pull mine out every now and then for a little bit of fun, and it's a good conversation starter.
I got mine with all the accessories and gyromite on ebay for .99ยข about 8 years ago. The anti strain clutch had broken so the owner thought it was bricked.
I fixed it up and it was working flawlessly untill about a year ago when the microswitch in his base got worn out, so that's on my list of thing to fix.
Bought one at a flea market a few years ago fit a few bucks.
Don't own stack up or gyromite though
The videos I watched make the games look really slow and boring
Let's talk boxes. Do you keep them? They're so hard to maintain.
Also, post your favorite boxes.
For NES and SNES my older brothers would keep the occasional box, so we have a handful for both systems. At least we kept the manuals for every game. It's not until the N64 where I made sure to keep the box for every single game, so there I have a rather lovely cardboard collection.
And wtf do you mean "maintain" OP? They're super easy to maintain. Just store them in the darkened corner of a closet like I do. They only degrade if you're one of those idiots who still actually keeps cartridges inside the boxes, meaning the its flaps get a little more degraded each time you decide to play that game.
I aint got time for boxes for carts. If I get a came with a box I'll trade it or flip it and get a cart only version.

people are dumb and i like taking their money.
I was rummaging around the house and garage and found some old Amiga and MS-DOS games that I would like to sell on Ebay. However, some of them are missing their manuals and/or original boxes. Generally, how much would I have to knock off the sale price since I only have the disks and nothing else that comes with it? Are they even worth selling at this point? I don't really know much about the prices of older games.
Thanks anons
ill buy them, how much
Just look for recently sold listings of the condition you have.
Computer games vary in price so much, there is no set difference.
A complete Daggerfall might be $100 and a disc only might be $5.
Another game might be $10 complete and $8 disc only.
>>3405956
Start your first bid at $1, the auction time for 7 days, and see how much they go for.
Don't be a greedy fuck.
Okay, so I've been scratching my head about this stage for a while now (not where to find the chao, but HOW to get to it). The using homing to bounce off the beetle seems unnecessarily harsh, especially since if you fuck it up you have to start the level over. I went online to see if there was maybe a guide to tell me what I was doing wrong, but between text and video guides, I've come to learn no one has done any sort of guide for it; everything I've seen has been a different version than I'm playing (Battle I assume) which replaced all the enemies with floating springs.
I wouldn't be so angry about this if some of the guides weren't listed as dreamcast. Does anyone know how to get past this?
Don't you just hold the jump button and then use homing attack when you're closer to it, unless you'd be able to hit the spring just from jumping? I've played Battle and it has those enemies too. I thought that those enemies don't die or respawn if you play the mystic melody again. It can't be as difficult as you're making it out to be.

>Don't you just hold the jump button and then use homing attack when you're closer to it, unless you'd be able to hit the spring just from jumping?
There is no spring to jump from. I took that screenshot from one of the tutorials online I was complaining about, pic related is what's there instead.
Never see this game masterpiece mentioned around here, so sad.
>>3405570
It was fine, but I hear it was practically the same game as womrs 2 and world party.
In fact, just between that and scorched 3d, it kind of started getting old.
>>3405742
World Party was better, but inherently, it's the same game, World Party just added a bunch of content and gameplay modifiers.
Hotseat Multiplayer is a rad feature which all turnbased games oughta have.
It was beautiful in its simplicity. In terms of local, turn-based multiplayer, it's ridiculously fun.
It's telling that Team 17 has done nothing but attempt to remake this game repeatedly ever since its launch, and yet they have still been unable to top it.
Fucking kill me.

This game must be good, because I did enjoy it despite all this crap.
But you talk to people by giving them things.
Truly the sign of a good game is tolerating all the horrible shit it throws in your face.I did not like Zak McKracken.

>Annoying continuous copy protection that actually forced the game to come in two floppies
You do know that unless you're playing the C64 version, you can install it on a hard disk.
Which system do you prefer /vr/ ? Skill based (you can improve every aspect of the character individually) or job based (you can choose a set of skills to improve).
Ehh doesn't matter at all, I just wanna play and enjoy the damn game.
>>3403981
I hate Romancing Saga's version of skill based leveling up.
It's just too random.
>>3403981
Actually individual characters "system", as in each character has his/her own attributes, skills, strengths and weaknesses, preferably their own unique weapon and armor sets too.
I just finished System Shock 2 for the first time, why was SHODAN so weak compared to the many?
