Hey guys, I run a website dedicated to arcade stick gaming and would like to raise awareness of this niche interest. It is pre-dominantly a retro focused website but there are contemporary games mixed in there.

So what are your favorite games to play that weren't designed for arcade sticks but are still very playable on one?

>werent designed for arcade stick
ive tried this time and time again, but i can't play platformers on stick
but i do playing retro RPGs because it feels dope plinking a summon or simple battle command

Fuck yeah looks like a good start OP. I play pretty much everything but menu-based RPGs and mouse-necessary games on stick.
Slower platformers and run 'n guns especially work well on stick. Working on Revenge of Shinobi and Contra Hard Corps right now.

Have you tried Ninja Gaiden on a stick? it's pretty satisfying trying to kill everything on screen without missing once.

I haven't but it's on my list. NES Batman and Shatterhand work really well.

You should make some guides for modding sticks or making sticks for retro consoles like NES and SNES.
A lot of the third party sticks are terrible. The NES and SNES advantage are definitely awful once you've tasted microswitches

At the moment I have an arcade stick recommendation doc in the backburner but that is the best I can do. One of the sticks I am recommending is the X-Arcade line of sticks which has this available for it:

Installing the Cthulhu multiboard in your favorite stick was a great cheaper option, but it's no longer on the market for some reason. I don't think the Advantages are easily moddable unfortunately. There's always padhacks.

Its such a pain in the ass for SNES and NES because they're proprietary connectors.
Stuff like Neo-Geo is fucking easy because it's a DB15 connector with each button corresponding to a pin so its dead simple to make your own.

Definitely, but at least those work with a single cable on a multistick. For my Genesis I'm running a PS cable off the multistick into a Tototek adapter. It's worth it though.
