Did you ever beat him?
I still haven't made it past Bald Bull 2
>>3409934
Nope, and I've only made it to him once in the last several years.
Now that I no longer have a CRT and input lag is brutal for this game, Super Macho Man wrecks my shit.
>>3409934
Only on the original hardware using that arcade stick when I was in middle school.
What are the best handheld emulators for Android, /vr/?

Nvidia Shield is nice for android emulators. I have one, and it's what I use it for.
>>3409760
Holy fuck. You need to get laid, bro.
The best Famicom game you've never heard of
But I have heard of it now. Checkmate.
>>3409593

>>3409593

Will /vr/ die when all our old hardware starts dying from degradation in a couple decades?
No because ps3 will be retro by then
>>3409340
>millions upon millions of NES consoles and not one is preserved working
Well we could always emulate?
>>3409353
No, it really won't.
/vr/ will always remain a pre-y2k board.
Anyone know what sort of software was used to make old pre-rendered backgrounds, if any? Is there a modern counterpart for their creation?
I always thought some of these set pieces were perhaps the most memorable art of their era, even though for the most part they were simply paintings with an invisible grid laid on behind them for movement.
>>3409016
Probably Lightwave or Max, and then photoshop.
Maya or something
>>3409016
>if any
They were self-formed form the sheer power of 32 bits
So basically, don't buy a copy of Pokemon without the directions.
>>3408813
i think OP is looking for the manual to the game right? google "game name manual pdf"
Been meaning to pick this up but 100+ characters seems kind of insane, are they all just generic? Are the main characters fleshed out at least?
>>3408758
OCD trigger warning, Finding all those pricks is frustrating enough to make you actually read a wiki
They're not generic, but some are far better than others as characters. You get a broke circus troupe, flying squirrels, a rastafarian wereworlf, drunken oarsmen, the works.
It's pretty fun, go for it.

And TcDohl. Glorious TcDohl.
Looking for advice
I got my hands on chipped playstation, works great and plays burned games I got with it.
I just cant figure out how to burn new cds so it will read them, followed some tutorials and destroyed like 15 cds to no avail.
Buy good CDs and use good images. Those are usually the problem.
try using different speeds and media, burn the image instead of copying the image file
>flashbacks to 1999
>>3408583
>Buy good CDs
What should I look for in particular? What makes a good CD?
Do you spend too much money on retro games?
I spent £600 last month and feel like I need to cut back. It feels like I still don't have anything to play.
christ, get a flashcart
>>3408474
This is why Britain's economy hasn't tanked from the EU exit; it's being hoisted by retro vidya buyers.
>>3408502
IKR, I feel like I'm single handily keeping Britain afloat. I just sat down and worked out how much I've been spending on games, lots of little purchases add up quick.
It's Saturday /vr/, why not blow your whole paycheck edition

Install an emulator on your PC and a VNC server and install a VNC client on your phone.
Now, set up a dynamic DNS solution and forward the necessary ports from your router to your PC, so that you can remotely connect to your PC from your phone.
Your welcome.
Let's talk about those games we saw in magazines but which never came out.
>Dinosaur Planet turned into Star Fox Adventure
Apparently they had a lot of marketing behind the game but it ended up heavily retooled anyway.
>Their E3 2000 booth
I'm not talking about the H-doom mod, or any of that shit. I'm looking for a pretty old DOOM .wad/mod. Not for wanking off to, either, the mod itself is actually somewhat humorous.
This is all I know about it
>It's been featured in 1997 copies of Hustler magazine
>It says it was released in 1995, but it was actually released in 1997
>It has the name "Frank Stringini" grafitti'd onto wall textures
>You have a fart attack
>In one scene, you can get a blowjob from Hillary Clinton
>It's simply labelled as DOOM porn
If any of you guys could dig up any info AT ALL, I'll gift you 4chan gold.
well hustlers website has an archive of their magazines but you can only see the covers without an account
>>3407072
That sounds just like Roger Ramrod.
ya whatever dude you just wanna jerk it off
Should I play this before Earthbound?
>>3406898
This desu
I would suggest playing Earthbound first, to be honest. Not the Mother is bad, but it's likely you won't enjoy it as much.
Earthbound is a lot better game and you dont lose anything by playing it over mother.
/vr/ I got some questions,
I would like to organize my game collection and have been trying to figure out the best way to do this. Currently I'm using a few smallish bookshelves but I'm almost out of room so was wondering if there was an easier/better way to display/store them?
Also some of the carts have some partially screwed up stickers on them and because that kind of thing bothers me I'd like to replace those stickers.
Lastly, I was curious if anyone knows of a place to get relatively cheap/nice cases for SEGA, SNES, NES, and N64 carts?
I wanna see how people store their old games
have a bump OP
>>3406842
>display
My first tip is to stop looking to display anything. Like if you have a single game or game box with its front facing outwards, you're doing nothing but wasting space. There's no reason for a single item to not be on its side.
>>3406932
>there is no reason for a single item to not be on its side
Well of course. That is part of why I want cases for my games actually. You can't exactly tell which game is which between N64 carts unless you either have special stickers on them (no thanks) or have them in cases.
When I say display, I meant more as a whole than individually. I'm overall more interested in being able to pick out the game I'm looking for without pulling everything off a shelf every time I want to switch games.
