Have I done it? Is this it?
Is this the Definitive SNES Collection?
>>3403265
Do you know what a fullset is?
Why do you keep making this thread?
Good list. Special mention for Assault Suits Valken and all 3 MegaMan X games. But…
> No Killer Instinct
> No Super Mario All Stars (or did I miss it)
What went wrong?
>>3403125
Still a better Gradius game than Gaiden or V, even if it looks ugly as fuck all.
>>3403137
Better than Gaiden? Not what I was expecting to hear. Thought the stages, ship selection and customization, bosses, music, and of course the art were far better in Gaiden, and may even consider it best in the series.
>>3403125
It's a solid game. Just not as great as some of the others.
Did you beat it?
>>3403115
ye, on the Gameboy Colour
>>3403117
That system doesn't exist.
Neither does the Wonderswan Colour.
>>3403134
Fuck off yank, Colour is how the word is properly spelt.
Has anyone tried building a MAME/ arcade cabinet?
Op here- I've been pricing it out and doing the research. Think I'm going to start with something like pic related to get the hang of things
yes.
Is the hyperspin a good system to organize your arcade games?
What does /vr/ think of this game?
Never played that one, but Alien Trilogy was a fun doomclone.
Good music too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zNClXp21gg
the AVP games are the best of the franchise
"The game's control setup is its most terrifying element. The left analog stick moves you forward, back, and strafes right and left, while the right analog stick turns you and can be used to look up and down. "
Now that we've got that out of the way, yeah, it's really quite a good game.
Overrated Garbage or Brilliant Masterpiece?
Not quite garbage, but definitely way overrated thanks to Square nostalgia. It was a decent first attempt from them at the genre, but it's still nowhere near the quality of other STGs made from veteran designers from the same time period.
>>3402824
Still one of the most fun shooters for me.
But I honestly don't know many outside the popular ones.
>>3402824
>other STGs made from veteran designers from the same time period
Got some pointers? Getting into these again.
Would you consider SNES Doom to be a good or bad port? On one hand it's a heavily cut down version with downgraded graphics and unresponsive controls but on the other hand the fact that it's on the SNES in a playable state at all is an extremely impressive feat, even considering it has the Super FX 2 chip backing it up.
>>3402805
Can you play it with the SNES mouse? I've seen some footage and the soundtrack is the only thing I liked about it, but maybe I can change my mind if try playing it.
>>3402805
Yes.
It's not as playable but I think it's a better port than the playstation version. I found the playstation version to be bland and empty where the larger graphics (that are still in the SNES version) were missing. Compare E1M1 on both versions and the SNES wins in my opinion.
I have now bought a GP2X.
I can emulate SNES, Genesis, Gameboy classic to Advance and Master System + Game Gear. It is backlit, has comfy buttons (love the D-Pad) and if I take a 20 pack of Batteries with me I can use it for a week nonstop!
How do you play your childhood memorys on the go, VR?
>>3402249
>>3402254
I loved Ecco... and with a PSP you can play PSX and PSP games, too. Nice. Whats the Battery life? how many hours can you play in one sitting? are there stronger battery available to maximise that?
>How do you play your childhood memorys on the go
I don't, I rather play games I didn't play before. Got a 10" convertible notebook for mobility.
What PSX games make good use of the analog sticks? (Other than ape escape)
Rayman 2 on Playstation X, but it's the worst version.
>>3401829
DS, 3DS, and PSX2 versions are worse.
>>3401781
I think it was Legend of Legaia that actually had the 2nd stick function as face buttons. If you pressed up it would register as Triangle Down X left Square and Right circle
it was neat
Favorite hack and slash?
>>3401773
Although it's so fucking close from being retro, my favorite isGauntlet: Dark Legacy
Gauntlet Legends is amazing in its own right, though.
>>3401773
What game is this? I played the Strider on Steam but it didn't look like that. I thought there was only Arcade, NES, and Genesis ones?
>>3404869
You ever heard of this obscure console named PlyStation?
Will there ever be games that make use of the Nintendo Play Station hardware?
>>3401616
You could get equivalent functionality with a custom cart.
Simple memory mapper could be used to exceed 8MB limit.
Carts can output music that gets mixed into sound after the ADSP but before being output.
There is literally no reason to make games for this thing.
Moreover, I think it partially defeats the spirit of the SNES, much like the gay-ass MPU-1 or whatever that byuu help design.
It just blows my mind that a simple CD add-on caused enough butthurt to change the videogame history forever.
>>3401668
The key was the market was transitioning formats, from one substantially more expensive and low density (albeit much faster), to one dirt cheap and extremely high density (and slow as balls). Sony has always tried to push formats because they recognize that's the way to lock people in to technology and provide a steady revenue source (Beta, MiniDisc, BluRay, UMD etc. etc.). They saw how video games where making a killing, and saw CDs were the next evolution, and made an extremely good business call to break and run with all they learned about console design from their collaboration with Nintendo. It wasn't just the addon, the time was just ripe for more competitors to jump into the market and dominate the market with more powerful hardware than what Nintendo traditionally offers.
can you help me /vr/? I was trying to play popful mail , I unzipped the file and installed the us bios on my phone, the ISO is unzipped too, it unzipped into 2 tipes , the .bios and the .cue, they only go as far as this screen, the zipped data cant run on this, what is the problem? I'm new to sega cd emulators
>>3401349
Pretty much any emulator that uses cd's needs a .cue and an .iso in the same directory, the bios should be in the emulator's location too
>>3401389
sorry, it's not . bios,its .bin, and it dorsn't have a .iso
>>3401349
You unzipped the ISO? Like it said PM.ISO and you unzipped it farther? That is a problem. If that .ISO is not working, then maybe you need a different download.

Hooray for weapons!
I was talking with a friend about pokemon and the Mew and celebi give aways and blitches discovered years later. I mentioned something about Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 also having rare unobtainable monsters from a give away. I only knew this cause of nintendo power. I made a topic some time back trying to even remember the game to remember the give away. I found a scan of such a give away. Now, I know nothing of the game. I was just curious, people who've played and used game genie and hacks and such to get these 3, were they any good? Game breaking like Mew? Or just neat but duds? Only 75 given away from this contest that is soooo low. Dimensaur looks neat to me.
I guess, Dragon Warrior Monsters topic!
>>3400983
Huh, that's pretty cool. I played the fuck out of that game but never knew it had 'event' monsters. Only 75 is astoundingly sparse, though.
Reminds me of all those unobtainable Digimon in Digimon World, that had all sorts of stupid made-up rumors about how to get them. Of course, they were all just Japan-only giveaways that never saw any western release.
>>3400983
> We'll add the monsters and send it back
kek
>>3401409
Right? they cant even GIVE you a free copy of the game?
OK NOW POST AND DISCUSS 3D 32/64BIT TITLES THAT HAVE AGED WELL, I DON'T WANT MEMES OR SARCASTIC GREENTEXTING ABOUT GAMES AGING.
I'll start
Name a Nintendo racer that has aged POORLY.
>>3400974
Stunt Race FX.
>>3400976
Ok, you got me. I've never even heard of that game.
