In one of my classes at uni we had to get into permanent groups of 4. My group is me, two attractive girls, and one quite fat girl with an okay face, since we all sat near each other. I of course am trying to work my way towards one of the good looking girls without looking too thirsty. We're all friendly with each other but not exactly friends, and the fat girl is making it too obvious that she likes me. She laughs at all my jokes, even the jokes that aren't even jokes or that funny. Flattering but she's just too fat. The other girls laugh at them too but not as often or intensely as she does. She also makes more conversation with me during the lab than the other girls. This is unsettling because I am clearly more interested in the other girls who are a little more reserved. I do most of the talking (and work) for the group. How do I get her to back off some and get the other girls more engaged? The whole group can tell she's interested but I can't have the other girls thinking that we're an "item" or something, especially since she is so below my standards.

I hate to ask this, but why is it this difficult to get a girl (even if you're a little bit weird and have a job) ?

Wasn't worth it for me, I took it to reduce the side effects of Effexor. It fucked up my sleep schedule (moreso than normal), I was gaining weight as opposed to maintaining it before, and it didn't give me any extra drive or energy. I decided to go cold turkey for a few months.
I'm in my third month now, and while I don't feel much better, I'm very slightly better than when I was on the drugs. I'm gonna stay away from SNRIs from now on.
Coldsweats, constantly warm, insomnia were normal, super sensitive to just about any stimuli (light in particular, as well as the neverending itch). My pharmacologist friend recommended tricyclic antidepressants. Maybe look into that?
I fucked up and had a week before my next prescription (for both drugs) one time, I swear it was like I was tripping bad for 4 days straight. I couldn't focus, I wasn't comfortable driving, every sensation ached, it was awful. Good news is that if I got over it, you can too.

Hey guys, I just got out of a 1 year relationship (not that long I know) and have already become pretty damn rusty with human interaction in the meantime. It's absolutely amazing how quickly you can lose social skills. Gonna try to avoid making this a "how do I get laid" thread, but I'd be lying if that wasn't part of the big picture.
Anyways, the most confusing of all interactions is approaching women (or making friends in general) on campus. Even my first day there, a majority of people seem to have already created social circles. I really wanna improve my skill at talking with women, but don't know where to start. I've found that switching seats often and doing small talk that's lesson related during breaks is the best way to start.
Then I usually ask people about studying together (never be pushy here, m8) and whenever/if they say yes, I move to general small talk during breaks from the studying.
Repeat for 3 to 4 times, by then it's cool to ask to hang out.

so i got hired at a certain large social media company...
as part of the process of the application of being an employee there, it's asking for my personal social media account information as a mandatory requirement.
i created a new account for this purpose. will they raise questions about why i submitted an empty, brand new account? will/can they boot me from the position if i refuse to submit my real account because i care about my privacy? (even if they guarantee that they wouldn't look through my history?)
obviously i didn't expect to get hired at this company so i've uploaded and sent shit carelessly because it was between the people i know; the job really sprang out of no where and it's a great opportunity.
some of the details involve some 4chin tier racist jokes, some nudity and really cringey shit of sexual nature. they are "deleted" but i don't believe that it is truly permanently deleted from their system and that they can retrieve the posts if they wanted to.

Depends on where you live. This does basically constitute lying on your application and if the company is like Facebook and doesn't like people making fake accounts, then you could well not give you the job/fire you.

All my life I've been prodded and pushed to get good grades and excel in anyway possible because apparently I have potential. However, over the past summer, I have been slapped in the face with the realization that I am completely average. I have no real potential. I have no work ethic, mediocre grades, and no notable skills. I'm destined to work at a low paying service job for the rest of my life. So why should I try? Shouldn't I focus on enjoying my life while I can?
