You're saying 20lbs is not light?
What do you think the biggest blunders in transportation history were?
I'll start:
>allowing the Milwaukee Road to de-electrify and abandon their Pacific Extension from Washington to Montana and not prosecuting the company's management for fraud, corruption, embezzlement, etc.
>>977129
Some more info on the criminal corporate conspiracy to destroy the Milwaukee Road.
>>977129
Can't fight big oil, broski.
>>977133
Maybe not, but you can certainly expose them and their allies when they betray the American people for selfish gains.
I call it a blunder but the conspirators knew exactly what they were doing and made out pretty well, despite thousands of jobs lost and permanent damage to American infrastructure through their actions.
ITT Photos of transport that are comfy or cosy.
Love PATCO's shit-yellow lights.
Makes it nostalgic in-the-moment.
The new trains blow.

Where you from my man? Marlton here
This is to all the anti car "muh death cages" "muh environment" Critical-Mass tier idiots.
Cry and complain all you want. Talk shit, get hit. The road is for everyone.
Most people (99%) are fine with BOTH cars and cyclists, but the special-snowflake cyclists think they deserve more privileges on the road, to the point that they bully people on the road with the so-called "Critical Mass" hooliganism.
/n/ bicycle threads are echo chambers that breed anti-car Critical Mass-ism. Come out and see how everyone else sees you. You are the bullies. The "Critical Mass" community claim to have a positive message, but in reality it is a thin excuse to bully drivers just for the sake of bullying anyone that don't cycle.
For the rest of the cyclists that are sane and follow the law, proceed as normal.
>>987731
If you think most people use the road responsibly, you are clean out of your fucking mind.
>>987731
Hey there!
I literally didn't read more than the three first words of you presumably shitty OP.
But did surely did give me the incentive to advice you to go kill yourself, preferably in the most violent, bloody way imaginable.
You are literally worth less than dust, you are worthless, slow, out of the game.
A Maggot,A shitstain.
The world literally made a mistake by creating yet another 225 lbs manchild, complaining about some mundane shit.

Should I buy a bike, or rent one?
Yes, or just steal one
>>987721
If I catch anyone trying to steal by bike I'm going to stab them, rip their kneecaps off with a sharpened tire lever and rape them to death with my co2 pump. I will go to prison for my bikes.
Rent if you're travelling for a week or two and don't have a bike you absolutely want to bring with you. In other cases buy.
pls r8 my city's urban architecture
bump? nobody?
I dunno, that urban density looks vulnerable to Godzilla attacks.
That looks an awful lot like Santiago
Is cycling a form of catharsis for anyone else on /n/?
I have been suffering from clinical depression for about 26 years, and cycling daily is the only thing that helps alleviate it. I still deal with it, but commuting to work via bike has done a lot to make me more stable.
How has cycling improved your mental health?
Yes. Manual labor helps. Do the dishes, pass the vacuum, make wooden furniture for your house. Things like that.
I only make KOM because I'm trying to outride my feelings

>King Of My feels
Had my brake housing fail. Post unique or rare parts failures.
The only unique thing here is that your housing end was not appropriate for the housing cable.
>>986659
Are you stupid? Look 4mm to the side. They're the same size.
>>986659
OP here. Your Fred is poking out.
I'm feeling the urge to buy a longboard.
Is longboarding basically skateboarding? Is it a little easier?
My town is all flat and the roads at some places aren't the best (some cracks/holes), would commuting via a longboard be efficient?
Yeah, it's easier since the wheels are designed with streets and shit in mind.
You're not doing any tricks or anything, but it could be fun.
>>985618
>would commuting via a longboard be efficient?
Sorta? Not nearly as efficient as a bike. but if you're really wanting a long board there's really no reason it wouldn't work. I mean as long as it's not too long
Longboards are easier to bomb down hills on but if it's flat you won't be really comfortable on either until you're comfortable on both. They're better for crappy roads but they're cumbersome as fuck in comparison so not really suited to commuting imo. A skateboard is no thing to bring into a shop or strap to a backpack but a longboard is a heavy large bitch.
I'm not really a cager but I love the art and design of interchanges. Post your favorites, least favorites, whatever. I feel like this belongs here.
Useful website: http://midimagic.sgc-hosting.com/ichange.htm
Pic related is the Marquette interchange in Milwaukee, which a friend recently had the pleasure of driving across. I myself took a trip to Denver last week from the Twin Cities. Saw my first diverging diamond interchange under construction in NE, which was nice. Also out west seemed to have more parcloes than here, which was neat.
>>984147
My favorite at home. Most others are relatively small and uninteresting, or cloverleafs and uninteresting.
>>984147
Japan also has some cool stuff, but I try not to think too hard about theirs because of the direction issue.
This one in the west end of Toronto. The original plan was for this to be a 4 highway interchange consisting of the 401, 427, Crosstown Expressway, and Highway 27. The Crosstown was never built except for the short stretch of Eglinton Avenue that leads into this interchange.
Was BART a mistake?
>>981099
Closing the key system was.
>>981099
The BART is weird. IMO only SF peninsula should have had rapid transit, and commuter lines to the rest of the bay area.

/n/ Jersey Gen 1.1
Jerseys and caps are now available at https://www.podiumwear.com/team-storefront/n-transportation-jerseys/
Water bottles available at http://www.cafepress.com/forevershinkansen.1785538294
The store will be open through Sunday, make sure to get your orders in before then. ETA for receiving our jerseys is mid July.
For those who missed the details on the differences between the jersey styles: Gold and silver are race fit, bronze is club fit. The silver jerseys are a little looser in the torso than gold, and also a little longer. The gold jerseys will have silicon gripper sleeves, the silver jerseys will have sewn sleeves. The gold jerseys are very lightweight, best for summer use according to the guy I talked to (he said he'd wear a vest over one on cold mornings), whereas the silver jerseys are a little heavier and better for 3-season use. Here are the official product descriptions of the three styles:

Thanks y-you too

I hope you enjoy your cap, anon~
Make sure you wear hi-vis otherwise a cager, not making sure he doesn't run someone over, might kill you.
But if he does, remember to wear a helmet so he might just retard you for life.
>this is totally not victim blaming
>be riding above 30 km/h on bike in area where speed limit is 30.
>Cagers still tailgating and swearing at me
I just don't understand.
Actually makes me want to buy a semi-faired recumbent so I can cruise on the expressway/limited-access road and annoy cagers by slowing down traffic but not doing anything illegal.
Unless all motorized vehicles are required to be fully reflective signal colors with constant yellow warning illumination - NO.
I myself like to go all the way and maximize visibility by wearing pic related. I think these should be mandatory.
