Context?
Guys, I'm not a cyclist but I just bought a pair of knicks on the advice of a doctor. Why? To prevent chafing while I get some skin problems sorted.
Do all of these things have this padding in the bottom? Because all of the ones in the store did.
I'm going to look like I shit my pants.
>buying cycling clothes at a brick and mortar
Wow, I hope you enjoyed getting ripped off as much as they enjoyed ripping you off
>do they all have padding
No
>having skin problems

You don't need cycling shorts, that's retarded. You need "compression shorts" which are sold at any decent sporting goods store (or walmart). These wick moisture, keep things from chafing, and have no padding.
Discovered them when I started paintballing.
So /n/ when are you installing a dropper post on your road bike?
>>991312
>more weight
>more expense
>one more thing to wear out/break
>solution in search of a problem
How about 'no'?
>>991312
wouldn't lifting my ass off the saddle and shifting most of my weight to my feet have a better outcome? bb is much lower than a seat at top tube height
Dropper posts are annoying because they're like a Pandora's box. Once I found out they existed there is simply no way I'm gonna be able to buy a MTB and not have one now.
I would be perfectly happy with a normal saddle on a MTB if I didn't know they existed but unfortunately I do.
American bus, sturdy, steel paneling along the side for longevity and chrome down to the last detail even the windscreen whipers. Lasts decades, projects safety and strength for anyone considering riding, while its forward-skewed windows represent speed and awesomeness. Windows can be fully opened because American passangers are free and can feel the breeze of freedom through their hair at any point during their ride. Engine grunts with strength as it powers past.
European bus, made out of plastic, pink all over to prepare inmates for sissification en route to their tolerance camps. Curvy and effiminate design, windows can barely be opened for just enough air to breath. Runs on the butt-queefs of vegans. Engine sounds like the pathetic disappointed wheeze of pre-ejaculation.

I'm thinking about getting a scooter to commute 2.5 miles for school. Is it doable or am I gonna hate my life? I am trying to avoid paying $225 for a semester long parking pass
90s rigid mtb with slicks
They should make kick scooters with some rake on the fork and a non-straight stem, so they wouldn't be so twitchy.
>>991011
I've been using a kick scooter very similar to the one in your pic for almost two years now. I'll quickly list it's pros and cons for you.
Pros:
>cheap
>fast and easy downhill
>can transport beer crates on foot
>can be packed and carried
>can be taken onto buses, trains etc.
Cons:
>not as fast as a bike
>gets tedious after a mile
>absolute pain in the ass uphill
>can't be used on dirt, wet road, frozen ground etc.
In short, you should buy a bike.
You spent $1200 dollars on a new bike and it only has 22 gears?
Mine has 32. You should consider upgrading, anon.
Things normalfags say thread?
>woow your bike must be super light can I lift it?
>mfw it's an OTS

Ah yes, the elusive 4x8 drivetrain.
>>991001
desu your bike only has 26 since in the big cog you cant use the two biggest rings, and in the little you cant use the two smallest

There are decent chink frames. However they will cost you much more than that. And they won't have your much desired branding on them. These are made from shitty moulds that somewhat resemble the original using shitty materials as cheaply as possible. The end result is a shitty flexy frame that you don't want to trust your life on. If you want a fancy frame with a name everyone will know then buy the real thing and stop being a poorfag. If you're stuck in poorfaggotry and can't afford a nice name brand frame get a nice, but still relatively cheap chink frame from a reputable chink manufacturer. If you still can't afford that get a used frame. It won't have warranty but you can get great frames for pretty cheap if you find the right deal.

1. Counterfeit bike frames are ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, TOTAL SHIT, UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED
2. You're a FAGGOT for posting this, SHILL
3. Fuck off
I need a bike to get from A to B, sometimes short distances, sometimes long, maybe sometimes I'd like to ride with my friends. Definitely don't want a fixed gear. My friend had a $200 fixed gear/single speed and I really enjoyed the single speed. Another time I tried a bike with gears, but didn't switch often. Single speeds look nicer and I'd assume are easier to maintain because of simplicity. I'm looking to spend around $200, and there are options on citygrounds for this price range, but people are telling me to spend an extra $100. Thoughts? Currently looking at the $200 golden cycles and 6KU bikes on citygrounds.
Buy used, anything you find new for that money will be crap

Just get a old steel mountain bike for like $50 replace the chain and the break pads and it'll do you good
Im in a dilemma, I want to buy my first good bike as i currently have a shit bike. There is a used bike store that i go to and i wanted to trade my shitbike. they had 2 high end bikes im interested in, A focus Variado tiagra which is 1300 regular for $850 CAD and a Cannondale caadX disc ultegra which is 2200 CAD regular for $1100, However it is a cyclocross bike fitted with road tiers, will it handle weirdly? To make the situation even more fucked up, im a student without a job, and i have 4000 in my bank account, i also get student funding from the government. What should i do /n/? also im 5'10 the cannondale is 54 and the focus says it is medium but when measured it says 52 although it feels fine.
>im a student without a job
Don't buy either
Fuck it, Im buying the ford Focus. im going to try to get the owner of the shop to swap saddles with another one since the one on this is shit and get bar tape included.
>>990660
Buy a vintage steel bike. Miyata or Trek 400 or summat. See what used bike store has from the '80s
does anyone else get all these annoying pimples on their scalp from their helmet
what do
i have my hair cut super short and shower every day
>>990649
Get something like pic related to wear under it.
Also wash your hair every day you ride.
>>990666
Whoever that is, is the biggest faggot on the planet for admitting in public that you have anything to do with 4chan.
I have no idea what it is called, but see people cycling with very low seats similar to pic. How does it not kill the knee?
Low riders. This kills the knees.
>>990617
They don't ride fast enough or far enough for it to matter; they're the casuals' casual. Disregard them.

that was quick, ty anon, shit's retarded then

Hi I'm an electrician and I was wondering if there are any other trades associated people who prefer taking the bus as well. For me I grew up in Los Angeles and always took the bus. I was a math major for a little while in University till I changed over to electrical.
Was it awkward switching to a trade instead of college? I've been thinking about it myself
I'm a woodworker by trade. I take the bus and bike to work. It's an hour commute, 2 times a day, 5 days a week. Always the best part of my day
>>990417
How the heck to you get your tools to the jobsite?

Whats the best chain lube for performance?
Is it worth getting Hi viz gear? yellow or orange? For commuting and for a full kit.
>>990015
Studies say they have absolutely zero effect on safety and the common yellow version may even lower your visibility in urban daylight setting.
>>990015
get good lights instead
>tfw you put on the Dura-Ace brake pads
>tfw you put on the SRAM brake pads
>tfw you put on the £1.50 Tesco brake pads

To flip? No.
For personal use I would totally buy that, slap on a spare rigid fork and meme it up.
>>988893

ok that sounds pretty fun actually, any idea what year it might be? early 2000s maybe?
