"Twelve people have died after being stuck in a three-day traffic jam in Indonesia at an intersection known as “Brexit” "
IT JUST DOESN'T STOP

>twelve brown people
Brexit still stands as effective.
Fuck this.
The two buses in this picture are supposed to be fifteen (15) minutes apart. But somehow the first one (operated by Deutsche Bahn) manages to amass an insane amount of delay on its much shorter route, almost every time. In this case, it was almost 20 minutes late.
Somehow, the bus operated by the local transport authority (the second one in this picture) is never more than five minutes late, and mostly on time outside of rushhour. It travels about three kilometers through a densely populated urban area before sharing its route with the other bus.
General /n/ rant and vent thread I guess.
>The Granite State Poll, conducted by the UNH Survey Center from January 27-February 6, 2011, showed overwhelming support for the Capital Corridor project generally, and strong support from all areas of the state and across all political parties and ideologies.[10] There is also strong support for the project among the business community in Nashua and Manchester, including the respective chambers of commerce and New Hampshire Businesses for Transportation and Infrastructure. Local elected officials of both parties have also expressed support for the project, including supportive resolutions by the town councils of Bedford and Merrimack, both largely Republican communities, and the Nashua Board of Aldermen.[11]
>Following the 2010 election, some members of the New Hampshire General Court (the state legislature) began efforts to repeal the NHRTA. The new Republican majority in the House passed HB 218, an act to repeal the NHRTA, by a vote of 190-119 in March 2011.

Why do people get so mad at Grant when Shinola is the real enemy?
>>970178
How is Shinola the real enemy? Shinola doesn't write books about shitty proud to be a hardcore casual shittier is better ideology.
Shinola makes watches, and they contract Waterford to make luxury branded bikes.
>>970181
Shinola doesn't make watches any more than they make bikes
The brand was created by a rich guy who read a study that showed consumers would gladly pay a steep markup on anything stamped "made in Detroit"
So that's what he sells. He bought an abandoned factory to stamp "Detroit" on stuff
>>970185
And how does that make them "the real enemy"? Since when have there been American made movements?

What are /n/'s thoughts on a bike GPS? I recently got into cycling and would like to do longer rides than simply riding around the local neighbor hood 5 times but I'm terrible with navigation and sometimes even manage to get lost with GPS. I also panic easily and I don't want to venture into an unknown area and get lost. I was looking at various garmin models and figured I would go all out with their top of the line model, the edge 1000, granted I would have to save and pinch pennies for a few months to afford it but I figure it would be worth it to just go for the top of the line model off the bat since it would be future proof and have everything I need (also the time I spend saving will give me time to think if I really need it or not). The automatic route planning is a huge plus over the 810 model as well.
i use a cheap blu phone on the bars as my gps. 40$. bike gps is not that great and costs way more.
>>982176
820 just came out, so you should see how that stacks up with the 1000. 820 no longer has a micro sd card slot, 32GB internal storage which should hold a lot of maps.
>>982176
Are you shilling for Garmin or something?
GPS on a bike is only really useful for loading pre-determined routes into so you don't get lost on a long ride or somewhere you're not familiar with. I've got a Joule GPS (which the upgraded me to for free when two non-GPS Joule's came up defective) and 95% of the time the GPS itself is turned off because I know where I'm going.
>I also panic easily and I don't want to venture into an unknown area and get lost.
Maybe cycling alone isn't for you then and you should just stick with riding with groups, then.
Thinking about picking up unicycling and would like to eventually take to trails.
Is this a good one? I'm 5'7", 165 lbs. Never unicycled before, but used to be into road and mountain biking.
I'd also like to replace my longboard with the unicycle for my commute if things go well.
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/bik/5680243164.html
Looks good. But you should consider changing that uncomfortable saddle for a noseless moon saddle
>>982020
I figured $325 is a lot to drop on a unicycle, considering I don't even know how to do it yet.
But then I figured, worse case scenario I could try to resell it.
Another thing I need to worry about is getting some crash gear; knees, gloves and helmet. Maybe elbows too
>>982020
Are you fucking around? I don't think you can ride a nose-less unicycle, can you?
Sup /n/
So I went to the local bike shop (there is only one I know of in Radford VA I know of) for the first time. My front brake was making a weird sound when being used. No squeaking just a kinda soft scraping sound at regular intervals. Also I had it adjusted as far as it could go without dragging but the length of pull on was still long as hell. Pads are fairly worn but not completely worn out yet.
Anyways I take it into the shop and the dude says he can't hear the sound and my brakes are fine. I think "ok, good. Was probably a fluke or some shit. I can still stop fine. No big deal" but then he starts giving me shit for primarily braking with my front brake primarily. Kept saying if I lock up the front brake I'll go over the handle bars.
I weigh 170-something-odd lbs. At speed I doubt I could lock up the front wheel with rim brakes even if I tried.
But I figured I'd ask here if he was right. I've always just used my rears in combination with my front if I needed to stop faster or needed a drag brake on a steep down hill road.
Have I been doing it wrong all along?
Pic related. It is my bike this summer on the New River Trail. 2014 Trek 820. Bought new and converted to a commuter/light-touring bike.
>>982000
No.
Braking primarily with the front is objectively correct riding technique. Rear brake is for speed modulation. Front is for stopping.
The shop monkey you talked to was an ignorant faggot, like basically all bike shop employees.
The good news is that you found out how bad your LBS is without it costing you anything. Whatever you do, NEVER let them work on your bike.
>>982000
Bike shop people are retards. Didn't you see the bike shop thread where people complained about retards, their main user group?
Just learn how to fix your bike yourself
>>982000
Using the front brake is perfectly safe if you have conventional brakes. It only became a meme to avoid it because of all the freds and their disc brakes which can lock the front wheel with only one finger. It's a liability disaster that will probably sink many of the biggest players in bike manufacturing in the coming years
The guy at your LBS is obviously a fred, that's why I do my own repairs. I refuse to support ignorant leeches who prey on yuppies with too much money
LAWN MOWER GENERAL
>What Mower do you use
>What Mower is good
I use a Kohler push mower
Kohler is for faggots
The charking and sometimes my grillmaster
>Second day of riding
>Been out for about 20 minutes
>Already pretty tired
>See another biker in the distance
>Some dude in his 70's
>Comes flying past me
>Try as hard as I can to keep up with no joy
>See him ride off into the sunset
God damn it if that's not motivation I don't know what is. That guy is nearly 3x my age and riding like a beast. I want to be at that level, just flying along the road not a care in the world.

I can't make up my mind. The CAAD 10 is from 2011 SRAM Force for 1500$ CAD and the CAAD 12 at around 2200$CAD. What would you recommend as a first serious road bike?

In japan it means student driver. In foreign countries such as the US it means that your car is JDM(Japanese Domestic Market)
