First time posting on /n/ so don't really know how relevant this is.
Anyone else here a small carrier? I am the owner of one and recently had a pretty big broker (Network FOB, Inc) go out of service. This isn't an issue, I factor and my factoring company is handling most of it, so I haven't lost any money...yet.
Anyone know what the fuck is going on? It was a pretty big corp and was steadily growing from what I could tell. it just seems strange and didn't know where else to go for info, so here I am talking to you fags.
Pic relevant, one of our trucks.

This is kind of a sucky attitude. While trucks technically go in /o/, operation of logistics should most reasonably belong here on /n/.
>>983997
You'll get a better answer on /o/, senpai.
I'm trying to help, untwist your panties.

>have 5 mile bike commute large uphill most of the way back, 8% grade hills
>google maps says it should take 45 minutes by bike
>I get it done in half that, around 23 minutes
>only have to get off bike to stop and catch my breath two times on the trek, on the big hills for a minute each
Feels good man
Yeah, not to shit on your parade, still great job, but Google does tend to over-estimate biking and walking times for anyone who isn't a POS landwhale.
Does anyone know what rolling speed they get their times from?
>>982610
Five miles!?!
And you only had to stop twice? Holy fuck. Are you going to enter the Tour next year?
Sup /n/. Rate my bike.

Didn't he crash into a motorbike?
>>980610
any kind of crash at such a low speed that doesn't involve falling into a ravine or getting sideswiped by a car is absurd, particularly for a $12,000+ bicycle, to become unusable

/bbg/ - Bike Buying General
Old thread >>973979 dead
Post bikes you're looking at, help others find a bike, general bike buying fun.
I'm eyeing this guy (used Charge Mixer 8) how high should I bid on it. Pretty keen on internal hub and disc brakes. It's Medium frame which according to wiggle should fit up to 183cm (I'm 183cm/6ft). For commuting in hilly city.
too small you should be on a large bike
I'm looking at an Ultegra Tarmac because I wont have enough to buy one for a couple months. I kind of want disks on it, BUT WHAT EVS. It's a god damned shame that I wont be able to put some overpriced Chinese hoops on that fucker for a while.

T-whites second hand bikes are not great, but it is a good shop for repair work. Definitely check out adventure cycles. It's normally open until 7 and closed on Tuesday & Wednesday.
Chromoly just means steel that isn't hiten, can be a lot of different things. Yeah, it's lighter than hiten though. What you really want is a decent road bike. Very rare/ over priced in Auckland. You can get something better/ cheaper on trademe by paying $80 on shipping from somewhere else if you're willing to take the risk. Auckland tax is ridiculous for road bikes. There's fuck all for sale anywhere atm, but it's worth lurking trademe.
The trek didn't sell, you could make an offer. It's nothing special, probably not that light, but it has low gearing range, is rigid and has slicks.
Ok I have a lead on a 1992 delta v but it is pretty damn beaten up and needs a lot of new parts.
Does cannondale still support its older bikes with available parts?
Is it worth trying to restore something that needs new paint and decals as well as shocks and components or should I wait for a bike that is in better shape?
Short answer: YESSSS
Long answer: That is a very rare and highly collectible piece of mountain biking history: the first production full-suspension bike. Parts will be expensive and difficult to come by--even a rusty example of just the frameset with suspension bits can fetch in the $3,000's by sellers who know what they have and know where to make it most visible--but even the partially restored bikes will command up to 5-figure sale prices.
However, not too many people sell them since they will perform better on rough terrain than even modern flagship Santa Cruz's when properly setup.
There's a guy in my town using a Delta V as a beater/commuter/grocery-getter

>a rusty example of just the frameset with suspension bits can fetch in the $3,000's
Wildly implausible, unless we are talking yen
>they will perform better on rough terrain than even modern flagship Santa Cruz
Straight up wrong.
The early full suspension bikes were, and are, fucking awful. The geometry was awful. The suspension designs were awful. The suspension components were awful.
Even discounting all that, the absence of disk brakes, through axles, a tapered headtube, and the relatively limited tire clearance totally rule out the possibility that the delta V could compete with a modern bike in any way, in any discipline.

Got a couple time trials and a hill climb coming up in a couple weeks. Think I might actually make it.
going to ride my bike in a racer fashion tomorrow. Racing 3x this weekend. Imbue me with luck guys

Nah, brah, caffeine is all I ever need.
Would ride or not ?
>>983857
I'd like to try riding it, because steering that contraption at any speed above a walking pace would be an interesting challenge.
>>983857
I'd use it to learn nose manuals.
I would ride pretty much anything if nothing better was available. But i look at that thing and only one word comes to mind
>why?
What kind of tube is this?
>>983832
Looks like one of those innertubes they made to more easily replace one on a commuter bike with integrated gear hub. Because it's such a hassle to take them out of the frame, with these you can replace them while still on the bike.

CRASHING AT 70KM/H DESTROYS YOUR BIKE? UNFATHOMABLE
I just bought a used bike. Very happy with the purchase, I have been customizing it, etc.
I want to know, though, what are these nuts on my stem for? (Pic related)
I'll also post pics of my bike.
Thanks.
>>983145
If it's not clear they're like the nuts you would find on a frame for a bottle cage or something.
I have no idea, but does a bottle cage fit there???
something to do with your front brake cable?
I'm reading that the rear back seat is usually the safest spot, but as the vehicles improve it seems that it's always improvements made to the front seats and never in the back. I don't think they even test the back seat anymore with dummies or anything, with this in mind do you think that it's possible that the front seats are now safer than the back rear position? Also for the vehicles that don't have the shoulder seat belt, are they STILL safer than any other seat even without the strap?
I'm thinking a lot about this because i'm thinking about my mortality and probabilities of dying in my life. I'm a healthy vegan and i'm not predisposed to any diseases, i like to believe that i'm mentally stable as well so that knocks out cardiovascular disease and suicide which i think are the top two killers besides cancer and car accidents. I like to just try to cover my bases here in order to live as long as i possibly can. I know this sounds autistic and shit but i really like to get into how to optimize my life. I have a road bike i take to work every day but i think i'll stop to get a subaru outback for safety reasons only. (i don't even know how to drive but i live with some neet close friends that can take me to places i need to go that say they would love to)
>>982654
>Also for the vehicles that don't have the shoulder seat belt, are they STILL safer than any other seat even without the strap?
No. If shoulder strap is missing from a seat, then that seat is the least safe seat in the vehicle.
>I'm a healthy vegan
Cool, me too. Now stop riding in death cages and start riding bicycles or fuck off to /o/.
rear right seat safest (left is close to oncoming traffic, right is not, safer from sideswipe)
