how does this work, pedestrian -> bike slow -> bike FAST?
Yowamushi Pedal fans of /n/, if you find me downloads to the 2015 movie, then I will translate and sub it for you. I imagine you probably like it better than /a/ does, anyway.
Otherwise, let's just have a thread about the series.
Did anyone copypasta that one guy who showed that Onoda is cranking out a bit over 10W/kg?
MFW some 14 year old nobody in Japan is better than Alberto Contador when he was confirmed to have been doping.
How the fuck does manami climb im higher gears without dying
Sorry OP, it's nowhere to be found, not even on specialized weeb private trackers.
Does anyone know legalities regarding buying a bike from a shop on layaway?
My mother put a bike on layaway for me, for my birthday, and expected me to pay it off, the remaining $1000, to receive the bicycle. This was for me 21st birthday because she knew I liked riding my bike, and I really needed a new one.
The problem is, the bike shop didn't even ask her about sizing or anything, and when I went in they said they just put a 56cm on layaway, which is fine, but not exactly ideal.
Furthermore, when I asked them about the 20% fee off they said I would receive to my mother, on any purchases in the shop for the next month after the purchase was complete, which when I brought it up they said yes, but are now denying they will order the product I and her originally asked if it would be covered (stages power meter).
To make this situation worse, they also do not give a bike fit with it whatsoever, which isn't a big deal as I believe I could make most minor adjustments, but is still unappealing.
So, basically I'm left with a $1000 debt to get my bike, from a bike shop that is not holding up to what it originally said, and seems likes a generally horrible bike shop. I'd also prefer a Giant over the Cannon-dale most likely, although that's not a real issue.
They want a restocking fee of $145. Any way I can get her money back and not cough up the $100 to this shitty scamming bike shop? They did say they wouldn't charge a restocking fee originally as well as I have never taken the bike for a ride at the shop or elsewhere, nor have taken it out of the store whatsoever. I have only seen the bike.
I'd really prefer not to waste the $145, but even if I have to, it'd still be cheaper to go to another bike shop as the CAAD 12 is sold for about $300-400 less at other retailers near by. And yes, I know layaway is a fucking scam and my mom is a silly goose.

My mother also asked when she made the arrangement if the bike was 50/34 and could easily go up mountains and if the cassette was a 32 because "he will be going up mountains and all over with this" they said that yes it'd be fine, this would be the bike.
The bikes a 52/36 with a 28 in the back, which is definitely not what she asked for or exactly what I wanted or needed.
This is the first time I hear about this layaway thing, seems pretty shady
I would just ignore them
Talk to the manager, and suggest to him or her that your next contact will be the better business beauro and that the matter may have to be settled in small claims court.

>207mph on a bicycle
How many of you would be willing to try riding this thing?
How long before he dies?
It's neat, but if you're main reason for riding a bicycle is simply going fast, you're a fucking faggot.
If I wanted help from anything outside my own power, I'd get a motorcycle or car.
>>979824
The fastest I've gone is maybe close to 50mph, GPS said 47mph but it blinks out at the fastest part of that particular road. Anyway, that was plenty scary fast. No way in hell would I go over 200mph on a bicycle.
Makes more sense on a 'bent or tadpole for dat aero;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAeyoSI81bo
Though stopping becomes a concern. You really really don't want to endo a 'bent. Because then people get to make bento jokes.
Tears of joy
Anon you seem to be lost, let me help direct you to the correct board.

You need a visa
You need google
And I don't want to be rude, but you need >>>/trv/ not here
Depends hugely on what countries you're travelling to and from and what is your nationality.

Where I live people tend to block doors in order to get some seat, they also think the doors have a countdown timer and if they don't get on board on time, doors will kill them.
>>978590
Don't block doors. Also try to not stand with your crotch facing a sitting person. Seems gross. Not sure I've witnessed it much.
Get ready to get off in advance. If you're in the car centre try to notify others you're leaving a stop ahead. Like look up, shuffle forward etc.

I'm going to be moving to Philadelphia soon. How is SEPTA? My only experience with it is going to visit via the regional rail (West Trenton line).
Based PCCs on the Girard Ave. line.
Other than that I don't really know anything about SEPTA.

What is your embarrassment level when you're biking and someone passes you? I get so embarrassed if I'm chugging up a hill and struggling a bit (just started riding consistently a few weeks or a month ago) and one of those guys in spandex passes me pretty easily
I don't mind it. I'm not racing anyone.
I dont really give a shit. I know these guys are better than me. I used to use the excuse that I am on a steel frame from the 1980s with a 42-21 minimum whilst these guys are spinning away on their crabbon compacts but they would still smoke me if we swapped bikes. I only got into cycling a few months ago and these guys were probably all in uni cycling clubs and whatnot. I will get there.
Embarrassment? Just ride your damn bike. Nothing's worse than people that try to race you just because you're going faster than them.
Where does /n/ live?
Most boards seem mostly American, except for maybe /int/ and /pol/, but /n/ seems to have people from a lot of countries
I made a strawpoll with some countries I've seen on here. I might make a city specific later

> Repairable, durable bicycle components conflict with bike industry needs.
> The prevailing business model prefers components that require regular replacement to those that can be maintained.
Why aren't you riding a steel friction-shifted 8 speed with rim brakes and loose bearing hubs/headset/bb?
Are you a consumer zombie loser who fell for marketing hype? Chop your head off with a superheated brake disc
>>974878
>implying you've ever serviced your bearings
the move to sealed cartridge bearings was good for absolutely everyone.
Same goes for the move away from rim brakes.
Friction shifting is fine, but indexed has very tangible benefits. If you want non-disposable shifters, buy Campagnolo (end-user rebuildable) and a Jtek Shiftmate so you can run Shimano cogs/freehub body.
>>974878
Chill out anon. Just ride what you like.
>>974878
If you want to toodle along at 12mph and/or carry cargo and/or don't really care then ride whatever ultra-conservative-design bike you want, and I sincerely hope you enjoy it, but don't bother posting pointless threads like this one because the overall theme of it amounts to "Why do people like things I don't like?".
o Ride what you like to ride
o Never you mind what anyone else likes to ride
o Everybody gets to stay happy that way
Make sense? Thanks for listening.
hello /n/ how is your day?
i only recently discovered this board, lurked /b/ and /g/
The thing why i'm posting here is because i want to know what is your relationship with fixed gear bikes?
I was expecting to see more of them, but surprisingly not one
ITT discuss fixed gears and everything about them, if you want
>pic related, my fixie
This is some lazy ass bait.
>>970171
not bait, believe it or not
i genuinely am interested about said topic, because i am new here.
believe it or not, i don't really care
Guess how I can tell you don't ride
