Taurus launched a M4.
Is it curved for easier conceal carry?

Idk, there aren't much info yet.
It will be Displayed at SHOT.

i hope they put a parachute on it.
Which American special operations unit would be considered the most effective at all levels of operating, from airborne insertion to guerilla warfare?
>>32704713
Green Berets. They're trained for special insertion, if you know what I mean.
Still Activity.
The US Army.
Special forces aren't numerous enough to actually occupy a nation and occupation is part of operations.
/k/,
Can you help me sort the the massive about of fudd information on 1911s? I'm trying to do research and pick a somewhat decent starter 1911 but holy fuck everyone is saying something different.
I'm considering the Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec because:
>Made in America now (hurrrr Brazil shitpost)
>Forged frame and slide
>pretty basic 1911 to get my feet wet
I've seen a few constant complaints on the weapon that include MIM part complaints, poor fittings, and inaccurate (just repeating what I've seen here).
I really don't want to buy some shit 1911 made by on some Island nation by an 11 year old so can you tell me. Is the Springfield Mil-Spec worth the money or not?
>>32704685
What I want to know is why a cheap EXACT replica of the original cannot be made without some shitty wording all over it, does colt still have the rights ?
RIA 1911s can handle .45 Super according to what they've said. Which means its just as good as American made for a fraction of the price.
Buying American products is like spending hundreds of thousands for a house made from a cheap wood frame and drywall. Its not worth the money and you're actually supporting a false market that's fucking you over by taking 1/3rd of the money you'll make in your life so you can have a house that'll fall apart in your lifetime.
There's fair business then there's outright market robbery of people that don't understand the value of what they are buying.
Its like buying a new car and losing 25% of what you paid once you drive it off the lot.
Some things can't justify their pricetag.
>>32704757
RIA has cast frames if I remember correctly and maybe I've just read to much fudd info but shouldn't I avoid cast?
Fucking cocksuckers.

What is the greatest handgun in your honest opinion?
IMO it's the PMR30
>30 rounds
>slender
>weighs 13 FUCKING OUNCES unloaded, 19 ounces loaded
Is there a better CCW?
>>32704213
If this is a serious question, prepare for a shitstorm coming your way, OP.
>>32704213
>inb4 it's a .22
A big bore revolver with a screw on barrel kit.
Like a .44 Dan Wesson.
You can go snub nose for CC or put on a longer barrel for hunting. Dan Wessons can handle more powerful loads as well.
Its one gun that can do it all.
The Steyr M9-A1 is the most underrated polymer pistol, also.
Why are Asians so good at camo and concealment?

You tend to develop those skills when forced to hide from your own government so you don't get killed in the name of the people.

Good luck. Bring glory to the kube or die trying.

What's the internal situation in your country?
Will you fight narcos?
Any cervixmen here carry totems into battle like chester the fish?
Post good luck charms, totems, stuff that reminded you of home etc.
>>32703730
I've got a couple.
I have an old 1960's Mexican peso I got from an old guy at a gun show the day before I shipped to basic. I've carried the sumbitch with me every day of service so far, be it in my pocket or in my wallet.
Also an old old OLD lego attack helicopter I made when a child. reminds me of home.
and in my wallet a silly little GI Joe novelty dog tag I was given by someone significant to me. helps me to good. damn do I miss him constantly.
>>32703730
I want to hear about Chester the fish.

It's 1970 and you're in the thick of it in Vietnam.
Would you rather have an older M14, an M16A1, or Colt Commando/XM177?

Should I try to sell my m44 nugget this weekend at my local gun show? I only paid $100 for it and was thinking of asking $350 for it and see if anyone bite, or should I wait for its value to go up more?
>>32703538
>should I wait for its value to go up more?
the value already spiked when they dried up commercially. value isn't going to drastically change again other than for shit like inflation.
>>32703538
Do it. I doubt the mosin will crest $400.
>I doubted the mosin would ever sell for more than $300 and look where we are
Rob some poor uneducated fuck and hope he posts a thread about the "deal" he got.
>>32703538
>$350
You are part of the problem. some guy at a gun show sold me a model 1938 turk mauser for $140 because he got it for $70 back in the good old days. And $350 is way high anyway go about $250 MAX you should only sell it for $225
Does /k/ into night vision scopes? I used the goggles while in the army but I sorta want a nice night vision scope. Is there anything even remotely comparable available for poorfags?
>>32703537
There's gen 1 and IR devices that are getting pretty cheap. The major disadvantages are image quality, light sensitivity, and almost always requiring a fuckhueg ir illuminator.
Assuming you used a PVS-14, there's a reason they're ~$3000 and most gear of comparable quality is about as expensive.
>>32703537
Any sort of decent low light image enhancement is not within the realm of poorfags..
Grainy and short range shitty Gen1 gear, sure that's within poorfag prices, but anything half good (Gen3+) is instantly $2,000+.
>>32703537
From experience in the military, I'll say that if you want a night scope, thermal is a better choice than IR. IR is great for general purpose and navigation, but thermal gives much better target acquisition for scanning and aiming with a weapon.
'Course decent thermal is probably expensive as shit too. I haven't used the civilian ones myself, but they look pretty grainy compared to what I'm used to. If you just want it for hunting or whatever, it's probably passable. Something with black and white mode with red/blue highlights is great for detecting living animals/people against nature.
Can you literally carry anywhere you choose--mall, restaurant, movie theater, public transportation-- so long as you have your permit?
If a cop sees your print, will they request to see your permit?
>>32703474
>literally
Can't carry in gun free zones or gov't buildings. Check your states CCW laws for more. Google "[your state] CCW Laws". Unless you get caught by a raging soccermom and causes a scene over your piece you won't get asked to show it by a cop unless you do something stupid (like break the law). Also, "concealed" is in the name. Keep it that way and don't give the rest of us a bad name by ending up on the 5 o'clock news.
>>32703474
21years of daily CC here. I carry everywhereI physically can. In other words, if there are no metal detectors of pat-downs I am carrying. Fuck signs, fuck "zones", fuck all of that noise. Concealed means concealed.
>>32703540
NC is required to inform police that you're interacting with that you are carrying.
I have seen a ton of pictures of old surplus rifles that make their way into third world countries. Usually things like FALs, Mosins, SKS, AKMs, G3.
What rifle is truly best for these conditions? Which one has the most proven track record in the worst conditions?
This got me thinking: say you were in a place where you couldn't easily get more ammunition, replacement parts like springs or stocks, etc. Say you basically had to scrounge up things to clean your rifle. Say you had to go months, possibly years without shooting it but needed it to operate at the drop of a hat.
>>32703429
Martini Henry.
>>32703440
I said living in the third world, not conquering it
>also, implying anyone can easily find ammo for that anyway

Do competent police officers ever wear camoflage?
The only cops I see wearing camo are American rubes, Brazilian favela paramilitaries, and brutal Slavic federal police
>>32702860
Only if it makes sense I think
Ukranian police
Its more circumstantial than to do with competence. In the case of Americans, there's a real mallninja wannabe-operator culture withing SWAT and cops as a whole, so you get ACUs and keffyehs when its not appropriate. On the case of Favela and OMOH or whatever militarized cops, they have an actual chance of getting in regular protracted gunfights, so it makes sense to wear camo (though effectiveness of OMOH blue camo is suspect).
Hey guys,
Any good documentaries on the Irish Republican Army? Don't know a whole lot about the group and I trust /k/ over /his/ to give me something that's not terribly dry. Either on youtube or an actual film is fine. Thanks in advance.
