It's a far cry from a simple piston AR15. The MPX was/is complete, unreliable trash. The MCX on the other hand is a fucking workhorse rifle. I wanted to hate it. After our department put a handful through testing and evaluation for replacing our aging AR15s I was surprised by how great they are.

Weird. We put 10s of thousands of rounds through a half dozen MCXs. Suppressed, unsuppressed, full auto, good and bad weather. Never had a failure major failure. Knowing TNP they did something ghetto to it trying to be garage gunsmiths. Otherwise that seems like some terrible luck.

they were using an AR15 lower on it. While the MCX can funtion on an AR lower, itneeds an adapter to properly support the recoil spring cap thingy.

That autistic faggot was using it improperly, causing it to fail due to odd stress on the recoil cap thingy.

I threw my MCX upper on my AR lower just to demonstrate.

You can see, that recoil spring collector plate is obviously not properly supported. In nutnfancys video, that isthe part that failed, causing the spring to come off the guide rod.

It's almost exactly a piston AR except for the guide rod which I will admit is a clever semi solution for the carrier tilt problem.

There real weakness ofthe MCX is pretty jarring. The guide rods are exposed to the inside of the handguard, and when the axtion cycles the rifle gets a giant hole inthe front of the reciever. An AR is much better sealed to the elements.
