Been using this /k/ guide to buy my first shotgun. Gonna settle for the Maverick 88.
Looking at sensible loads for home defense and was thinking of buying Federal 7.5 birdshot for it. Would it make sense to have the birdshot for home defense or should I stick to the Winchester Super X with regards to it?

Why is it so hard to get people to show up to the range?
Everyone talks about how much fun it would be to go shoot or try something new. But when the day comes everyone fucking flakes.
Going to the range alone again tomorrow when five fucking people have cancelled on me. And it was their idea to come along.

I've only been successful with two people going with me on two seperate occasions.
You're lucky. Going to the range with five fucking new shooters is a recipie for disaster, if anything, two is maximum. Way too much fuckery with five. I've stopped caring and instead, I'm worrying more about my progession as a shooter for now on.

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I'm looking to buy a handgun and need some advice.
Living in California my options are limited and I only just started looking, and was thinking of getting a S&W sigma from the image.
I just want a reliable first gun that's 9mm for cheap ammo and won't set me back more than 500 USD.

Did anyone else see that dumpster fire of a TV show called Six that just aired on History channel?
Depicts ST6 members and hits literally, LIT-ER-ALLY every single trope a military action/drama would hit. One soldier who's kinda off the rails, one that defends him even though he's a fucking psycho in a uniform because MUH BRUTHAHOOD, family troubles at home, new guy that nobody trusts to know how to do his job, Seal who was LITERALLY HOURS AWAY from signing his walking papers gets pulled back in FOR ONE LAST MISSION and he and his wife have the "I swear I'll come back home again" talk...Christ.
Good production values, but come on. It can only get you so far in the face of every single cliche imaginable.

Why do stormfags love the Luger? I mean didn't the third Reich not like it? They tried to replace it with the Walther p38 and the only reason why they used so many Lugers was because there weren't enough p38s to go around and there was a big stockpile of Lugers left from WW1 (as pistols weren't considered important enough to regulate as much as rifles and artillery), right? The Nazis only used Lugers because they had to, and if they had their way they would have just given everybody who needed a pistol a Walther. Am I wrong or are Stormfags so stupid that they don't even know a basic fact about something they obsess over?

Ill be honest I don't know shit about the Marine Corp or anything in the military. My brother and I use to be very close. You can say we were best friends... Around 8 months ago while he was attending his first year in community college a Marine recruiter talked to him and his friend, they did some pull up challenge and came home with these cool Marine Corp T-shirts. After that encounter my brother and his friend both lost all interest in school, they even ended up dropping out. They would go every Thursday to the marine base or recruiting center and work out. They thought they were some top level shit. They even came to pick me up from my middle school with fucking shirts that said Marine Corp on them. They were fucking hitting on underage girls telling them they are bad ass. The next thing I know my brother rants all fucking day about how he wants to be a marsoc, which is supposedly the Marine Corps special forces. After a month of him talking all this shit he finally went to meps. I don't what his score was on their test but all i know was he scored high enough to obtain pretty much any job in the military. His recruiter told him if he went infantry he'd have a higher chance of becoming a marsoc. So my brainwashed zombie of a brother signs the contract. My brother left fast for boot camp, our neighbor who was in the navy was surprised how fast he went from meps to boot camp. My brother was gone for i want to say 3 to possibly 4 months. When he came home he was a complete zombie. He spent hours in his room jerking off and doing pull ups for around a month. After that he went back to boot camp again for infinity school. Now after finishing boot camp and waiting to be deployed i can see the brain damage that he has gone through. He fucking yells and screams randomly in his room, he goes up to girls he doesn't know and ask if they want to fuck, explaining that he is a Marine, and worst of all he wont stop talking about how he wants to kill somebody with a gun.HELP

How do I know if my Glock 19 is ejecting properly? It's a gen 4 and has the proper extractor # or whatever.
The ejection seems to be kind of weak lately it only goes like 2 or 3 feet. I had a few rounds come straight back and land right on my head and my gf had some hit her in the nose and said it didn't hurt though which I assume means it's not extracting hard enough. It's mostly going in the right direction but it seems weak compared to my SW 9mm Shield. Like I was in the indoor shooting lane and it didn't even hit the stall wall like 3 feet away

If it hits you in the head, then there's a problem.
Weak ejection isn't so much of an issue - some guns just don't eject as strongly as others - but erratic ejection can put an eye out in a self-defense situation, and is therefore considered a problem.
Hey /k/, I'm looking for recommendations on what the best/economic ak47 out there that I should consider as an entry level. I'm not dying to buy one right now but market research is half the battle. There are so many platforms and I don't care about super high quality. Also would it be better to look online for best deal, at a gun show when they roll into town, or local gun stores/pawn shops to find what I'm looking for?

Not same guy, but this is my experience. Online you want to research the seller and gather as much info as possible on them to determine if the gun will be in the quality it's described as. I've ordered 3 guns off gunbroker sellers and all 3 have been just as I expected. I have not once seen a good deal at a gun show on any gun, and flashier guns like AKs and AR-15s usually go for way above retail from what I have seen. I have seen good deals at pawnshops/local gunstores, but it can take some looking around. Have you tried armslist? I saw a wasr 10 with 6 mags out there for $550 in my area and other similar deals on aks pop up all the time.
