It's 1970 and you're in the thick of it in Vietnam.
Would you rather have an older M14, an M16A1, or Colt Commando/XM177?

They would all do a fine job given I'm not an idiot.
Probably xm177 cause it's light.
>>32703622
I like A1 but I probably wouldn't want to carry it everywhere if I could have XM177
>>32703622
Rather have an SKS.
>>32703622
None of the above.
>>32704309

Piece of shit. Entire generation of Soviet conscripts cheered when it was replaced.

>>32704156
Are you retarded?
>>32703622
M16A1 with proper cleaning materials.
>>32704347
i thought it was supposed to be a pretty reliable weapon?
>>32704369
Nah. The flapper-locking system was used on several guns and all of them had problems with reliability, RPD is one of them.
a grease gun with a sling so i can keep my hands free when i catch me some hootchi mamma san in the bush and i get to shock and awe her tiny yellow hochi min trail.
>>32703622
Take an M14 any day, not dumb enough to fire that thing full auto and I'm not trusting my life to an early batch "never needs to be cleaned xD" M16 or Colt
>>32703622
>Implying I'm american
>>32703622
M16A1 for sure
>>32704057
Even if you don't get issued one you can have your family send you a .22 cleaning kit from the hardware store, as lots of soldiers did.
>>32704134
hmmmm
I wonder how effective that long ass flash hider is.
If it's effective enough to not have a fireball obstructing your vision after every shot, it would make the gun useable over the M16, at least
>>32704186
sauce on that muzzle device?
>>32703622
If the wanna let me be a sniper ill take the M14
Otherwise the commando is excellent
>>32704140
Didnt work out too well for Bunny
>>32704691
Why was it more quiet than a suppressed Sten?
>>32704524
kek'd
A non-Sterling AR-18, b/c they look fine as fuck
>>32704703
iirc the bolt was much louder compared to the sten.
>>32704089
I feel dirty for saving this and intending to use it later

It's a 3.5" moderator. There was also a 4.5" version available for it that was also seen on the 609, 610, and a few others. There was also a unique 3 prong flash hider and full cage 603 style flash hider on the GX. It's an interesting gun.

wonder if those are the 3.5" or 4.5" ?
>>32704524
>.45 keks
>>32704945
XM177 (Colt 610), XM177E1 (Colt 609), and XM177E2 (Colt 629) all had the 4.5" moderator that looks like a really long flash suppressor. I don't know how accurate those models are. Not many of these moderators going around because they are NFA.
>>32705001
The core measures 3" so with the sleeve welded around it, it's probably the 3.5" version
>>32705001
so the 4.5" moderators were on the >11.5" + guns?
And the 3.5" on the 10.5" barreled guns?
Ain't even Aussie.
>>32705034
No, it's not.
>>32705066
No, the 3.5" was just first. The 4.5" was later.
>>32705242
The 3d models I posted do indeed have the core measuring 3"~
It's hard for me to measure the sleeve file with my software so I don't know the OAL.
>>32703622
Ruger Blackhawk and a .444 Marlin Bunker Buster
>>32705403
The core may measure 3" but that doesn't tell you if it's the 3.5" or 4.5"
>>32703622
Why does he look so much like Ian?
>>32705454
Because that's Ian
