How will 3D printing affect wargames and table top gaming?
Depends on the mass appeal of at-home 3D Printing in the future. If everyone and their dog has a 3D Printer like they do 2D Printers now, we'll see "print your own minis" included in PDF bundles.
>>51151216
People will be able to print personally-made models.
Not many people can 3D-model, so... nothing changes, I guess?
The price of 3D-printing will always be higher than the of a mass manufactured model.
Honestly depends on the development of the technology. Ubiquitous home 3d printing might certainly change a lot, but whether that will ever be a thing is unknown.
New leaks for new stuff when?

You don't really see boils except on the coasts. A good boil requires, absolutely requires, fresh seafood. That's the great part of it, though. With fish and muscles that fresh, you taste the ocean and it's just glorious.
I'd say gator counts. Gator tails are nice if done properly. Have you tried any Creole seafood? Shrimp Etouffee done by someone with a clue is fucking orgasmic.
Well?

The Vorlons finally go off, beyond the rim, explore the greener pastures elsewhere, and discover the IoM. How are they likely to react?
They are not alone. They have the shadows with them and the other old friends they hadn't seen for so long.
Probable outcome; Imperium puts them in the same class as semi-dormant tomb worlds. Don't prod them, don't make eye contact and say off of their fucking lawn.
Same attitude the Naan had to the Old Ones at Sigma 957.

"Megatons? Kilotons? Who-gives-a-ton?"
(The last one is the IoM and their GIGAtons of firepower.)
Vorlons/Shadows/Old Ones flee and if they learn a bit about the Tyranids. (Multi-galaxy, perhaps even 'most of galactic cluster'.)
Also they shit bricks. And if Bioships turn to Chaos, or Vorlons do... oh boy. (Shadows are shoe-ins for all the War and Khorne, but might go Tzeentch for knowledge. Vorlons go Tzeentch, definatly.)
Can you say 'Chaos Bioships'? Also smallish planet killers. Oh yes. That is the most 'fun' thing Chaos will get access to. No need for Old Ones bioship production, WH40k is good enough in this, and some Chaos Biologicsl expert can help. Also can a bioship creating station made of Warpflesh make real ships? (Yes they can if they use 'real' materials in the EoT.)
So galaxy is fucked, and the Old Ones are killed by the IoM to prevent Chaosification. Some flee, a few go to Chaos and the galaxy has 'FUN' times in it's future.)

If you were running a game where the characters will commonly find bows, duel pistols, rifles, crossbows, slingshots, etc. How many different skills would you need to divide all the ranged weapon proficiencies?
The game im running is ryuutama; and all the weapon categories it has is Light Blade, Big Blade, Axes, Polearms, Unarmed and Ranged.
But it doesnt seem right that a hunter who uses a bow to hunt animals is proficent with a duel pistol, arguably a rifle. Similarly, a noble who is trained in duels should not be proficent on bow hunting.
Thoughts?
>>51149154
just have guns be separate from other ranged weapons
>>51149154
Eh, whatever.
Rather than try to juggle multiple proficiencies, just give everyone a penalty to use weapons they're unfamiliar with. After a while of consistent use, lower the penalty until they're considered proficient.

A little over a year ago I came here, excited by the new books on wendigo folklore I had recently acquired. Some of you may recall the thread, which can be found here:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/44551658/
Well, I'm back. With much of the US gripped in nasty winter weather, it seemed appropriate. I've got more books and more wendigo folklore, largely from the Cree and Ojibwa traditions. There's shaman vs wendigo stories, guardian spirits, 80 ft+ ancient wendigos, spirit possession dreams, wendigo cures, and psychotic cannibalism.
If you want to chat about emaciated famine spirits of the eternal winter, come on in.
Feel free to ask wendigo-related questions if you have any. In the meantime, I'll relate some of the stories I've got.
The first one is a Cree story, about three people who went out trapping during the winter, and stayed out til early spring. Wendigos were very active in winter, but in northern parts of Canada early spring weather can be especially bad, right on the tail end of the true winter season, and this period was thought to be especially dangerous.
The group consisted of a man, his sister, his wife, and their dogs. During the winter they set up camp around one lake but as spring came on the man left the women and started a new camp at another lake some miles away, with the idea that the women would come join him later. They had been traveling by river, and the canoe was left with the women while the man went overland to the next lake.
After setting up the new camp, the man had troubled dreams. In Cree tradition, every person has their own pawakan, or guardian spirit, acquired in a coming-of-age ritual, though shamans tend to have multiple spirit-helpers acquired over time. The average pawakan spirits normally offer aid only in the form of dreams, but in dire circumstances may intervene more directly. It's considered a symbiotic relationship, with the human giving offerings and performing favors for the spirit in return for aid. The nature of the spirit is different for each person. This man's was a Rock, and it sent him a dream of a wendigo.
The man dreamed of the monster prowling through the woods near the lake where he had left his sister and wife. When he awoke, he realized the dream was truth, and abandoned his camp to rush back down along the river to the women's camp.
>>51149200
Miles away, the women also realized something was amiss. Some of the dogs had gone missing. Others were acting strangely, cowering in fear and shivering, barking at something in the woods. Beyond that, there was an uneasy feeling. The Cree often reported that wendigos caused a sort of spiritual malaise, affecting people as they drew closer, causing feelings of loneliness, of cold, and of general apathy. You don't want to cook, or hunt, or get up. Think seasonal affective disorder, but worse.
Anyway, the women notice this and it scares the hell out of them. They pack up camp very quickly, grab the remaining dogs, pile into the canoe, and strike out. The wendigo reaches their camp not long after. As some of you may recall from the last thread, these monsters can often seem confused and disoriented, even a little crazy, but they're not dumb. The wendigo recognized a hastily abandoned camp, saw where a canoe had been beached, and put 2 and 2 together. It struck out along the river in pursuit.
So the man was going upriver on foot, the women were going downriver by boat, and the wendigo was hot on their heels. The group all came to a head in the narrows, where the river cut deep and cliffs rose on all sides. The man arrived, and in the distance he saw the canoe, and on the shore he saw the monster. It was gaining. Wendigos are tall, gangly creatures with long strides. They can move very quickly. With no weapon that can kill the monster, the man sits down and enters into a trance. He forces himself to dream, and in his dream he calls out to the Rock, his pawakan. He pleads for aid.
As the canoe enters the narrows and the wendigo follows, Rock hears and consents. The cliffs snap shut across the river like a massive pair of jaws. The canoe carries on safely... while the wendigo is caught between the Rocks,
Will post a little more in a bit. Next story will be about a colossal ancient wendigo, killed without magic.
Hive fleets Leviathan is detected right around the time the galactic empire is formed, and starts arriving right around when the death star was completed. Could the empire military fend off the threat, or would they be consumed?
>>51148776
Lol just use the force
We all know that earth Vader can kill like a billion guys by snapping his fingers
>>51148776
It would be somewhat like the Yuuzhan Wong war, but with the Empire instead of the New Republic. Just mark conquered planets as consumed. Other than that, the Empire would have an actually functional space navy, unlike the New Republic which was building a fleet from scratch. Also, the Empire was largely united, while the New Republic was the heterogenous group one can expect after a galaxy-wide civil war, as the Empire managed to control the aftermath of the Clone Wars by the time the Death Star was built.
However, it might be likely that the Empire would struggle with rebels who believe the tyranids are just imperial propaganda to keep them in a war-time mentality like in 1984.
>>51148776
The Death Star would shit on whatever the Tyranids have.

We all said thanks to the man of the hour, Adam! Now let's pay homage to the person behind the scenes, who's positive impact on Kingdom Death's development is rather apparent. If you are not aware, Anna is Adam's better half, and she's responsible for the content of the Gorm and Flower Knight expansions and most recently the inspiration for the Inverted Mountain final showdown being UPSIDEDOWN.
Thanks, Anna, if you're out there maybe lurking in the shadows. Looking forward to seeing your continued success working on Kingdom Death along side Adam and co.

> she's responsible for the content of the Gorm and Flower Knight
Not sure there's higher praise -- those are two of my three favorite expansions (though with me and Gorm it's more like the "buddies" that punch eachother full strength and swear like sailors cursing each other's name while still insisting on being friends... which for a KDM expansion is perfectly fitting).
So Summer release is basically out of the window at this point?
I'm going to run a MnM campaing in a few weeks.
I have already planned out the setting, plot and the characters. And gave my players clear instructions about those.
I see that it's regarded as a good system, but I don't see any thread on the catalog.
I never played before, so I have some questions:
-What should I encourage?
-What should I discourage?
-How can I use the system to make the most enjoyable experience for the players?
-Any other useful advise?
>>51148292
>Asking for advice for encouraging and discouraging things, as well as just general advice.
>Doesn't even give a brief synopsis of the setting or anything to work with.
>>51148292
>What should I encourage?
>What should I discourage?
Follow the general advice which I believe is given in the rulebook 'when presented with a potential player character ask yourself "would I read a comic about this person?" and allow or disallow the character based on that'. In terms of overseeing character creation that's pretty good advice.
>How can I use the system to make the most enjoyable experience for the players?
Don't set up situations where enemies are defeated by hitting them really hard or combat can really turn into a slog, take advantage of the flexibility of the powers by making enemies in situation where they can be defeated in creative ways.
>>51148560
In the fist session I'm thinking about generic goons, but I'm going to get creative once I see what my players can come up with
>>51148352
My bad.
I'm going to explain it briefly: escape from New York, but with monsters outside of the prison and in the future. The city is one of the last cities standing the invasion of the monsters but things in the city are kinda ugly anyways because you have Stalin in the power.
