I think this is a great story but I wouldn't be surprised if this thread got no responses.
It's not the kind of story to elicit responses even if it's enjoyed.
what are some legendary weapons in your setting /tg/, what is your Excalibur, your Gungnir and ect.\?
>>51158884
Lost Blade of Yvan is the only one left, the rest were destroyed.
It was indestructible, perfectly sharp, and could combined with an intent of will, cut rifts between Planes.
It was allegedly carried off to the afterlife by some grand hero immediately before The Great Betrayal when all Magic departed the world, rendering the other artifacts mundane (albeit beautiful) items.

Why are guns in fantasy settings such a contentious issue? It seems like they can only ever be unstoppable weapons that kill everything ever or made to be absolutely useless to a point a dagger is mechanically a better option?
More so I think something that bothers me is the lack of story that can be built up around them. I understand a sword is a symbolic sort of weapon that has many a legend attached to it by why not a gun? More so rather than making them look like the regular plastic utilitarian sorts you see today why not something fantastic? A shotgun with the fancy twists on the barrel like you see on some iron fences. A pistol with a literal story etched onto the grip. A rifle with bone fetishes hanging off of them.
If they don't fit into particular settings fine, they shouldn't be shoe-horned into everything but then they shouldn't be so constrained and reviled as they seem to be.
Misconceptions over how powerful guns were and how they developed and trpg traditionalists being fairly resistant to change.
>>51157862
Most people believe that the presence of guns made other weapons obsolete, but the truth is that guns took hundreds of years to reach a point where soldiers were no longer issued some kind of sword or spear.
Guns started to appear around the mid 15th century, and coexisted with full plate, greatswords, crossbows, longbows, and spears for a good long time.
It isn't until the end of the 19th century that swords started to disappear from the military, and even today they still exist as parade weapons.
I think you answered your own question with the first paragraph. Guns are a modern killing tool vastly superior to those of the past due to range and (with some modern weapons) accuracy. You also see a clear divide of mentality in relation to how guns should be treated. Either they need meticulous stats based on every variation, or they can be generalized as "pistol, rifle, etc.". You also have people that want a "historically accurate fantasy" where melee is the primary tool. It's just how modern fantasy has been built, not to say it cannot be changed/guns cannot exist in a fantasy setting.

>>Does your setting have any global cities? If so, what are their demographics? Explain the history behind these statistics.
The world isn't interconnected enough to have any places that influence the whole economy.
>>What places do towns, cities, villages and any other centralized settlements have in the political structures of your setting's states?
They're important as centers of food production and religion, and as permanent residences of the rulers of the states, however no real trade and cultural centers exist yet.
>>How big of a phenomenon is urban sprawl in your setting?
Doesn't really exist.
>>Do your cities have any "green spaces" (parks, culturally/religiously special naturals areas, etc.)?
They're not very large, and situated in vast wilderness so there's no need for such things.
Aww, man. Why are these threads dying so much faster than before?

If Tomb King models had been kept, I would've played them in an instant. I love their aesthetic, particularly over the "generic undead" most Death models have going for them.
My experience against death is limited to tomb kings. The guy deploys them perfectly making them a tough nut to crack. Tomb guard up front in a huge line that can cover a 48 inch wide, ushabti in the center ready to move to threats, skeletons with spears behind the guard, 2 blocks of 20 archers on the left and right flanks and khalida in the middle of them. If there's room he takes a liche priest for righteous smiling. Let me tell you, I feel smited. Righteously.
NOT!Medieval and Renaissance are way over done. Lets get classy and move the tech and culture to the 18thC. Wizards with powdered wigs! Fighters in resplendent uniforms! Pirates vs. goblins (who are also pirates)! 20 pounds of tea and spices are fucking awesome loot.
Discuss systems, stories, and ideas, as well as ask historic/tech questions and dump pics.

Is your character the party leader? What kind of leader are they?
If not, what kind of character does yours follow?
I wasn't really the leader but I tried to be a hero.
This lead me to taking off my armor and running through a town with a torch into an inn chased by werewolves so I could be locked in while the inn was burnt down around me.
It was scary.
The party leadership is sort of collaborative effort. One character presses on and tears the way through. The others are trying to steer.
my character is ostensibly the party leader, but mostly at he rest of the party's convenience.
I joined the game late, and the previous de facto leader's player had left. the party is a superpowered black ops squad in a scifi future setting using a system for playing super heroes. my character is the youngest son of a wealthy and influential family who is by and large a complete failure who is internet famous for risking his life. He was at first the de facto leader by virtue of being the most decisive character in a moment of crisis, and then the best liar in the face of red tape. After saving the rest of the party we were abducted by terrorists and held by a psychic egomaniac, my character spearheaded the party against him due to deep seated issues with people poking in his brain. finally he was recruited by the organization the party is working for and was made official team leader, except when the rest if the party ignores him in the field because they think they know better (with about a 50/50 rate of that being true)

Ugh, I know, right? How do so many GM's fail to grasp that not all difficulties classify as a valiant struggle. Just because the GM makes your life hard, doesn't mean it's an inherently good thing for the game. Too many of them get trapped in a juvenile headspace of "I can make this so COOL by fucking with them!" And it's 99% not fun zone

Maybe the hag wants a servant, or a minion who can walk among civilized people. Or perhaps the hag is bound by a debt to raise and protect the child.

Treat it like twin I.e. a phenomenally solid tempo/control shell that happens to have an infinite combo t4. Never forget twin would often side the combo out in certain matchups.
Your GM has requested that everyone's character to be carrying an item that, were it to be discovered, would be very embarrassing for their character.
It very well may never come up in the game, but your GM hopes that you'll come up with an idea that not only helps establish what kind of person your character is, but perhaps can add a bit of comedy or drama to the story.
