ITT we list all the reasons why we hate the Tau and they suck. I'll start.

They stick out from the rest of the universe because they don't have any parallel in WFB. They just don't fit with the science fantasy setting.

We've had this edition before, I'm pretty sure. Though I'll give you a 5/7 for effort.

That reminds me, there isnt any jump that allows you to take home as a starting location right?

I wouldn't be surprised. I feel like the 5/7 thing is a reference, though.

Pathfinder General /pfg/

What is your preferred permutation of default allowed sources? Paizo + all DSP + all SoP seems to have been the standard before.
Paizo + Forrest (in DSP or FFS) + N. Jolly seems to be gaining traction now, possibly because of disillusionment with PoW and SoP. Does this permutation have good merits?

If you want build advice make sure to say what 3pp you can use, if any.

I currently use Paizo + DSP (psionics and akashic) + SoP. Everything else on a case by case basis, but I don't think I've ever disallowed anything of Forrest or Jolly's.

I personally hope that, once we get more content and an actual playtest build, that Spheres of Might gets some traction

What would drive a non-Irriseni to become a Winter Witch, /pfg/?

Especially if he is prone to making nihilistic-sounding jokes on the best of days and outright states that he wishes he could freeze to death without chickening out on the worst?

Pic related only insofar as it's what he aims to inflict on his enemies. And his friends. And everyone. Including himself.

Just an utterly massive amount of people who have hung themselves in the forest, some hundreds of years old, some possibly a few hours old. Seriously, look up Aokigahara, some seriously freaking creepy things about there. I presume this place functions as some sort of hope eating genius loci, that feeds on your feelings of hopelessness and depression until it finally has left you a husk that cannot bear to continue living. The caves themselves might have a massive amount of calcified over skeletons that have been deposited over the years. Naturally, you'd have all sorts of dead who are not able to rest. Nothing worse than when you cut a corpse down out of a tree and it attacks you in an attempt to hang itself again.

If you fail to fight off a psychopath, you take 1 wound. If you take 3 wounds, you die. In addition, you must immediately flee to an adjacent room. The psychopath has a 2 in 6 chance of following you, and must be fought off again should they do so.

Apparently GW had a really good last quarter. I wonder how much of this was related to the management changes?

To throw my 2 cents in their recent behavior hasn't made me go "Wow I gotta go buy that thing right now" but it has definitely made me more confident in making purchases that they won't be given to some faceless corporation. Fan interaction at least makes me feel like they care.

They cut WHFB and sale surge like never before.
they should have done it years ago.
>>
>>51140244

Well they had a good quarter because they had good sales. They had good sales because they had better marketing and good products. The marketing and products got better specifically because the new management implemented them.

So, all of it?

After reading up on bards a bit, I had an odd idea for a specific campaign after pondering the idea of making low-leveled encounters bards, where the rarity of classes was inverted, so to speak.

PC characters are generated as normal, but commoners would be very rare and only important NPCs would have that class, bandits are replaced by renegade wizards who might have a fighter or thief in their ranks if they count themselves lucky, and bards replace the warrior/thief class as the basic template of your standard kobold or goblin, with dozens of the beady fucks assaulting low-leveled adventurers with Vicious Insult. Clerics and Paladins would still be clerics and paladins, but hostile clerics/paladins would be significantly more common while their friendlier counterparts would generally be harder to find, though normally antagonistic classes like rogues and warlocks would likewise have more "friendly" individuals show up on a regular basis.

Does this sound completely retarded? How would you justify this in-setting?

Heya /tg/, I've been slowly forming ideas for a short horror campaign I want to run but I've somewhat hit a brick wall which is called 'I can't invent a cool monster worth shit'. I want to draw inspiration from the first Alien, Dead Space, The Thing and Event Horizon. Thing is, I really don't want to use some horrible body horror monstrosity, zombie or some insectoid monster because it's what the players would expect. I'm stumped because I'm trying to imagine some creature (or creatures) which would be at home in those dark, cramped spaces.

I'm thinking of setting the game on some extremely remote planet, obviously, maybe some early terraform facility and/or archeological expedition. The universe might be high tech but most of the gear of the player character would be rather crude, less fancy-cutting-edge and more its-designed-to-last. Both to show how rugged and demanding their job is but also to limit what they can do. One potential setup is that whatever they are doing take decades, so they regularly freeze the personnel that isn't active until, say, the next maintenance cycle. So when the PC wake up it's because the whole system has gone haywire and unfreezing them due to the emergency detected. So, similar to the start of Alien 1 I suppose, at least in that regard. That mean their characters would know about the place enough to be familiar with it but because everyone has specific jobs and it's a large facility, there would be part of it they don't know. Maybe I could even give some 'screentime' to the base BEFORE they get frozen and then unfrozen.

Still no idea what the monster could be however and I don't want zombies, that much I know.

Personally, me? I would make the enemies the still human inhabitants, just change them to make them more disturbing. The isolation, demand and claustrophobic conditions have caused the inhabitants to snap

There will be hints and clues referencing to the time in which the inhabitants degenerated. They hear voices, aggression rises, violence breaks out and they turn on each other. Groups form and many die in the process, but now those that are left are animalistic and have resorted to unspeakable methods of survival

They are low to the ground, have sharper teeth and nails. Rarely do any of them use open catwalks or traverse over open ground, they are conditioned by the tribal warfare not to. This change has happened over several generations, so as to ensure the survival of the colonists
