So I haven't really been up to date on the lore updates but with the Thousands Sons release with the invasion of Fenris and the Fall of Cadia are we seeing lore being advanced or is this just old narratives renewed?
I am not big into lore but this is really exciting never the less. I hope they progress Ghaz lore too if they are.

Have you found that numbers-heavy "domain/kingdom management" subsystems usually lead to the group ceding control over to a single player, usually the most meticulous/autisticplayer who knows how to game the subsystem for the benefit of the entire party, so that the one player can manage long documents full of numbers and make the most mechanically optimal decisions for the domain/kingdom?This has been happening to me often recently, with me as that one player.
Then stop being autistic and just have fun Parsee

How do you guys balance what lands you put in three color decks? I'm having a rough time with a deck I'm building now.

I put it on tappedout then I look at the pie wedges and mess with them until it is right.
Dont use shitty ETB tapped lands.

you lazy fuck
anyway, we had a good thing going last thread, keep posting 'em. here's the template, dont be lazy.
Heya fellow anons of /tg/! I've been looking into games that can be played solo. It seems a little niche and I thought to make a thread where we can discuss such games.
Last month I had spent a bunch of time looking into solo games. I hopped around YouTube and across the web in search for a few. I ended up picking up three games called Friday, Onirim, and Space Hulk:Death Angel. I've been thoroughly enjoying those games and am curious what your thoughts on them might be. Not only that, what games do you enjoy playing solo? Regardless if they were meant to be played that way or not.
I guess I'll give some insight into each of the games I tried for those curious. I tried putting it all here but it was too long so I'll post that below.
Friday is a card game in which you guide Robinson from the Robinson Crusoe books as the character Friday. At it's heart, the game is a deck-builder in which you must take your chances to overcome challenges and gather better cards while getting rid of useless/harmful ones. You'll be having to do that extensively in the early game for Robinson is literally retarded right off the bat. As you play the difficulty slowly increases and hopefully by the end you'll be able to take on these 2 pirate ships. Beat them and you win! Otherwise, you lose and can tally up some points if you want to see how well you did. The game is about 13 bucks off Amazon and I think it's rather fun. If you like optimizing decks and have no friends to play MTG then this might be for you.
Onirim is a nifty little game about dreams. The art has a nice watercolor style, it takes just 15-20 minutes to play, and is around 22 bucks. You have a deck of cards that you'll be constantly shuffling. You draw a hand of five and will be playing cards of 4 different colors in order to collect these 8 door cards. If you get all eight before the deck runs out then you win! Otherwise, it's a loss. Along the way you'll encounter nightmare cards that will screw you over but you'll have several ways of dealing with them. The game comes with 7 expansions that can be mixed and matched thus adding tons of replayability. Onirim is a nice game and some people swear it's one of the best solo games you can get from my research. Personally, I think it's nice and is worth a shot but I wouldn't say it's the best thing ever. I don't regret buying it though. Oh, and it can be played co-op too which is nice.
Also I shoulda attached a picture to the last one

Yeah, a former storm trooper medic who was a great shot as well.
Breach and clear for life.

All the time, hombre. In fact I have 32 confirmed tacticool PCs under my belt, which is probably far more than you. I studied in the hard school of Ops & Tactics, GURPS Tactical Shooting and Phoenix Command when you were still in your diapers. It's not unfair to say that I've been a Tier 1 OpeRoleplayer for 20 years.

I've related a tale in which a hunt for a missing kid turned into Five Nights at Freddie's....except it was 1 night and we shot the metal beasties to pieces. Interesting thing about that session is that the group I was in was just the first group who got to play that mission; we broke it in, and then he ran at conventions. I stumbled upon my GM's archive of Shadowrun missions, and it turns out after 3 groups had run through it, he had changed it up a bit.
Here's the link if anyone's curious to see it: https://1nsomniac.wordpress.com/2016/06/06/one-night-at-frankies-shadowrun/
Is it worth hunting down/buying an Anarchy .pdf or is it better to stick with the 5E rulebook ?
I'm considering requiring Wizards to use wands to cast spells in my game/setting.
Would you enjoy a concept like this?
>>51142139
Wands are lame, real mages use staves.
>>51142139
Mine requires spellbooks for all characters but fairies. Wands are definitely ok.
>>51142163
I actually think staves are pretty lame.
Imagine a Wizard walking around town. He needs protection and just to show off his wizardliness, so what does he take his staff around?
Why not a wand? Small, discrete, ingenious for house work style magic and you can actual DIRECT magic with a wand. You can barely point with a staff, a wand is a much better symbol of magic users.
>inb4 some fag makes a dick joke
Using a staff is literally compensating.
What's your favorite take on the supersoldier?
Whether they're genetically engineered, cybernetically enhanced, trained from birth, etc.
>>51133730
Post-human warriors who can never go back to their old lives and are basically dead men walking. People who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.
>>51133730
Any of those things or more are fine as long as they are part of a well written piece of work.
Lately though since I've been playing a lot of Warframe I'm partial to "children warped by being trapped in a hell space for years and now have to use cyborg drones to channel their powers safely".
>>51133730
Those that have been forged in the fires of battle, and have been granted equipment to match their skill/dumb luck.
Does this game even have a fanbase? I'm not trying to be an asshole toward Talislanta or it's fan, it's just that I've recently discovered that this RPG even existed and that all the pdf are available for free from the official website. It had multiple editions so I have to assume it has a fanbase somewhere but for something this old, I've never ever seen it being brought up /tg/. Not even as a jab or 'look-at-this-thing' kind of way.
Hearing it was all free I checked it out.
It looked interesting at a glance, but I found it hard to really get in there at the guts of the thing.
For one it's hard enough getting my dopey friends to try role playing games they've already heard of, let alone ones where they have to memorize a bunch of race names they've never heard of and can't pidgeon-hole at a glance.
I mean, what the fuck are these rainbow men even called?
Anybody?
What is this strange velociraptor the rainbow man fights?
Is it his natural enemy?
>>51111746
I don't know but it looks kinda cool in a 'this-would-make-a-cool-race-as-a-reference-in-Dungeons-the-Dragoning' kind of way.
