so, if 9 is some sort of average optimal rep number for gainz... which is the optimal number for sets for 9 reps?
>>38057014
>doing 6 or 7 reps completely annihilates your gains, 5 or 8 is fine
how

Hey /fit/ I need some advice. I started off at 185 lbs about 5 months ago and decided to get off my fucking ass and get my pathetic life back together. I'm now down to 155 lbs with only home training (did the body beast 3 month program and some extra cardio) and I followed many different diets (since the one in the program was to bulk). I don't go to the gym but I eventually will to squat/bench/deadlift etc properly. What should I do in the meantime to get some visible abs? Also at what fat % am I at? Does it look like I have loose skin or is it just fat? Anything helps thanks
>>38057005
height?
>>38057005
What kind of home training were you doing?
Not to derail but fit explain something to me... is that an Adonis belt? I got something similar going on and I don't get it. Like there's kind of too much damn fat Goin on there for me to think that that's a fucking Adonis belt but is that a fuckin Adonis belt? Answer ops question first but that bugs the shit out of me.
What burns more calories/fat? Weight lifting or cardio?
>>38056905
i believe cardio burns faster
>>38056905
Of the two, probably cardio. But neither are anywhere close to fork putdowns.
>>38056905
Thats a loaded question. Both burn calories. Cardio will provide quicker burn of what you have initially. But weight lifting will build muscle which takes alot of calories to maintain on its own on top of the exercise it takes to maintain the muscle. Weight lifting will burn more on the long "run". Pun intended.
Post god-tier fitness books that helped you in more than just muscular gains but also mental or social gains

alright /fit/
I've taken C4 for around a year and recently I started getting a weird almost lockjaw/cottonmouth sensation for a couple hours after taking it
So i decided to try a new pre and the bro at the supp store recommended this shit. I tried it today and loved it... Couple of questions
I couldnt find very much unsponsored info about it as far as health concerns and what not. Also nothing about drinking the night after taking it.
Any of you tried it/know about it?

So /fit/ as a skinny fat should I bulk or cut first ?
Depends how fat you are. What is your %.
>>38056463
Bulk. Unless you're actually fat you never really should cut until you have gains to show off. If you're skinnyfat your body will redistribute everything as you lift so don't worry.
>>38056508
About 19-21%
>But I don't wanna count calories
Me a year and a half ago.
>>38056435
>3x5 just seems like a lot of repetitions
>whats the point of going past 2pl8 on any barbell exercise unless youre a pig or a roidmonkey?
Hypothetically, (maybe not so hypothetically in the near future) how would one keep their gains aboard a space station or lunar/ other planet colony?
Obviously the effective lack of/decrease in gravity would make conventional weight training impossible. Resistance could be provided with springs/elastic bands, or artificial gravity.
With the limited diet, water, and air astronauts are provided with, it would be pretty selfish to the other crew members to use these resources in the pursuit of vanity.
Furthermore, we haven't even begun to mention the other hazards of space including exposure to radiation, osteoporosis, sickness due to changes in pressure, along with a slew of psychological conditions. And we all know how emotionally stable /fit/izens are.
So tell me /fit/, are all astronauts doomed to lose their gains and become skellies? Is the term Jacked Astronaut an oxymoron?
The only benefit I could see is the temporary increase in height due to spinal decompression, but I'm already 6'0.
>>38056407
roids?
Artificial gravity equal to the same gravity on earth for perfect keeping of gainz. Until then vacuums and resistance work outs will have to do
>>38056407
We already have a solution to this. You build a large ring shaped space station and spin it and you have artificial gravity. We know how to do it, we have the technology, we just haven't had a need to do it yet because we aren't putting people in space for more than a year or two at a time. I'd imagine you will see it implemented in the first manned journey to mars, but idk I don't follow the space scene too closely.
This of course wouldn't work on the moon, but the meager gravity on the moon does still allow you to weight train, plus you get the ego boost of deadlifting over a thousand kilos.
>What's that?
>You say that weighted dips are bad for the shoulders?
>I'm afraid that you're wrong on two counts
>Firstly, with proper form and enough strength you can maintain the requisite scapular depression to prevent any impingement-thus preventing any injury that fools, such as yourself, seem to be so well acquainted with
>Secondly, in the age before this one (back when chivalry and masculine strength were valued traits) weighted dips were normal
>So much so that the nomenclature was different
>Back then it was simply called

>It's a Sailor Chalana model fountain pen (Japanese with superior Nippon steel)
>Brutes such as yourself can't appreciate such a thing (a good pen, or a fierce dedication so full of reps and sets that even a superior memory is not enough to remember them for the next workout), but a man of my tastes doesn't bother with such inferior opinions as your own
>yes ma'am, you heard me correct. One black coffee with exactly zero scoops of sugar and zero servings of cream! No, I'm not kidding, you see, enjoying beverages is exclusively for women and children. How dare you even muse the thought of true grown men such as myself ordering cream or sugar. I have learned to appreciate the tough bitterness of unsweetened, uncreamed coffee. Disciplined tastebuds have aided our ancestors in the stone age the same way they will aid me in the inevitable zombie apocalypse, but that is a conversation for another day, I have a cold shower to continue.
>Do you not know that the quill is sharper than the sword of a tyrant?
Non-lifters body thread!
Pic related 2 years of bouldering. I'm DYEL cuz I don't lift.
Wait so do you just roll boulders like youre fuckin sisyphus?

It's like a harder version of rock climbing I think

fatass here, I have been wanting to go to the gym lately but I keep thinking people will look at me funny and I'm too scared to go.
does anyone actually care what some guy is doing at the gym or am I safe
I just wanna look like a Greek demigod and be healthy
Just go bro nobody cares. Way I see it you're already better than half of america if not more just by stepping foot in that bitch but you can't quit and bitch out or I'll fkn rek u m8
No and if the way people might look at you at a gym is what is preventing you from trying to lose weight, you're not gonna make it. Just don't give a fuck and pursue your dreams anon.
>>38055447
People are looking at you funny because you're NOT going. Accept the fact that you're not going to be the strongest in the gym your first day. Or your 180th day. Or your 365th day. The point is that you're there. And that's a respectable thing no one will look down on you for.
Whats my bodyfat%, do I bulk or cut
>>38055416
Cutting is bullshit if you haven't gained mass first. Incorporate some compound exercises in your workouts, eat a lot, keep consistent. You need to gain mass my friend, whether you actually bulk or not.
>>38055416
go to the gym first?
>>38055416
you could probably just recomp
