Hey /fit/ - over the last week or so I seem to have lost all motivation to work out and stick to a sensible diet. I've been lifting since Summer 2015, and I've seen some gains, however recently I have no passion when I go to the gym. Have you guys ever felt like this, and what should I do to become motivated again? (I haven't been to the gym in a week)

It's an action thing, anon.

You don't have to feel like doing something to do it.

After doing it you (feeling like it or not) for some time you enter automatic mode, and that's the magic. The beginning is hard, as forming any habit is.

It gets easier, but you gotta do it everyday.

Ofc I like it when I feel motivated to do something I want to do, but normally we tend to procrastinate on the things we need to do the most. ACTION, buddy.

Mainly just to try and get girls (cliche meme reason, I know) and then after a while I became more focused on just gaining muscle for my own self-pride. I think I held my expectations too high on what I could accomplish, however my friends have made gains much faster than myself and I feel as if that could have de-moralised me, as I naturally can't keep up with them. How do I deal with this bros? I'm constantly looking out for trouble, not in the I always want to fight way, but rather for fear of my life and those with me kind of way, I am constantly in fear of being attacked, of being caught off guard and be left defenseless and get my shit kicked in, I'm not even afraid of actually dying, I'm more afraid of surviving it, of actually living with the fact that I was not able to defend myself, or have my sister or my girlfriend violated because I wasnt strong enough.

I cant honestly get through /rekt/ webms threads as this actually feeds my fear of being left undone, I know theres only like 1% of those things happening to me but I would always consider that 1% a certainty, its gonna fucking happen, better be ready for it man

How do you deal with this? are people born with this?

it doesn't, it's a stubborn myth that refuses to die. the exception is when you're trying to create as big of a deficit as possible. cardio will help in that case. if you already lift then cardi is completely unnecessary and can even be detrimental when you're trying to cut.

if you add cardio, while eating big, you can lift like a king, while maintaining a healthy weight

i know, you can just cut, but your top performance comes from cardio + lifts, as much as nobody likes it here

I recently swam for the first time in a long time and it was really hard. Was like an actual workout because the water gave so much resistance! But I suspect it will become pretty easy once I get better cardio, I'm sort of fat atm.

Used to be pretty fast back in school so looking forward to going more, much more fun than running.
