What country/region has the best/least expensive seafood? I'm unironically addicted to salmon, lobster, caviar etc

Ensenada, Mexico is literally what you just described. No salmon but lobster, crab, halibut, tuna and even shark is sold on the reg.

Daily caught shit is cheap and fought over.

Shrimp is fucking god tier.

Clams and oysters are beyond words

And if you're trying to make a specialty dish like ceviche or fish tacos, they can tell you the best option for you to buy.

Plus it's a modern tourist town so there's not much of a cultural shock or whatever.

go to mississippi or alabama and get some seafood on the gulf coast.

deep fried or grilled. it's all cheap shit, shrimp, crab, and mullet or catfish. fresh and if its fried the batter is amazing everywhere, if it's grilled the seasoning afterward is going to be perfect. main thing is it's just fresh and the quality is amazing.

How likely is it that my laptop and hard drives will be checked for porn in Arab airports? Do they check while leaving or just entering? Will they check at ports as well as airports?

OP here

My gf and I are driving from LA to West Idaho with a detour to Mammoth Lakes (there's a restaurant there she really likes). We're staying at airbnbs. 2 of our airbnb places in Idaho are right on a river or creek. Our place in McCall is huge but its in the suburbs/woods.

The day of the eclipse we'll be in a super small town right in the center line.

I'm looking forward to doing some jet skiing on Payette Lake the day after the eclipse.

We'll leave LA the Friday before the eclipse and come home Saturday, hopefully in time for Floyd/Conor.
>>
I'm going to Tennessee with the gf should be fun. Does anyone know when the next big eclipse in the USA is going to happen?

I don't travel often but certain occasions stand out as making big differences in my life from the chaos and novelty bring out a better version of myself that enjoys their surroundings and world much more, which would usually be tinged in nihilistic depressed thinking.

So my Questions are:
>How do we create exciting and new experiences for ourselves in our hometowns?
>What experiences have brought you a truly liberating feeling you think others are missing out on?
>What makes something an adventure for you?
>Do you think spicing up your life in your home town is worth it, or is it better just to Travel as much as possible?
4 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
I'll use my own as an example.
>Usually I just try to go out, or try things I've never heard of anyone else doing that interests me, meet up with people with similar passions and push the limits on what we will do.
>I think there's a level of emotional honesty which shouldn't be talked about all the time, but occasionally should be delved into deeply, raffling about deep rooted feelings or thoughts is liberating, when most of the time there may be parts of your psyche that you bury because it makes your life easier, letting these out in front of others, consequences be damned has been one of the moist rewarding decisions of my life. That being said, I'm not one of those people who believe that always brimg yourself is the best thing to do, humans are smart enough to know how and when to use restraint, at least to a degree.
>feeling like I've done something, no one has ever seen in a creative way, feeling like I'm breaking things, but not to hurt others just to do it. Growing and overcoming obstacles while working with a community. Risking my life for the thrill or something I believe in.
>Spicing up your life is Definitely worth it, but it's hard to beat the real thing, putting yourself into new circumstances is necessary for people to have enjoyable lives, whether that be through physical travel or other.

At any given moment there is a part of the world that has the most chaos occuring at a given time. This part of the world is usually occupied by military units. Good luck if you are up for it, it's worth it.

OP starting it off:
>29 y/o f + 30 y/o m
>Both American
>Relatively seasoned travelers
>Arrive 20 Sep; depart 02 Oct: 12 days total, but effectively 8-9 days of travel (10 is pushing it)
>Planning on backpacking
>Planning on Spain/Morocco
>Is it worth it do do both countries and/or Portugal?
>What is the best way to superpack the itinerary?
>Tips, advice, costs?
We decided we're going to have a 5-city itinerary:
1. Granada
>Arrival and tour
2. Malaga
>Both head there and tour
>Find a way to get to Tangier
3. Tangier, Morocco,
>Day tour
>Stay overnight
4. Seville
>Day tour
>Train to Cordoba
5. Cordoba
>Day tour
>Train to Seville, depart
Thoughts?
>On Morocco
We likely will not have time for Marrakesh this trip, and perhaps not Tangier nor Portugal, though would consider them. We realize not to make the mistake of getting on the ferry at Motril, and it taking it to Mellilla, without realizing it’s technically Spain, and we realize we’ll have to find a way (bus or otherwise) to Algeciras, or Tarifa if the plan is to get to Tangier.
>On Spain
We realize that we’re rushing spain, and that discovering the history and current life of cities like Seville and Granada take many people at least a week each

ok well im optimistic let's see how things go thx pal

I'm will be having a 5h20 layover at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. Is that enough to take a cab to the city and hang out a little? Or do I risk missing my flight?

Never had a layover before so I'm also wondering if I need to be at the airport 2h beforehand, like they always say.

>>
>>1292644
Which airport? I will plan you fast trip accordingly.
>>
>>1292647
Istanbul Atatürk Airport. On my way back I will have a layover again though, but of 11h. So I'm planning to visit the Fatih disctrict with all the big sights then (Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, etc)

For the 5h layover I was thinking of taking a cab to the Galata tower, then head to Taksim, then to Dolmabahce and finally a uber/cab to the Bosphorus bridge. My plane leaves just after rush hour so I don't know if it's feasible with all the traffic
>>
>>1292649
OK.

From Atatürk Airport
1- take train to Aksaray 35 min or something
2- then take tram to beyazit square: 2 min walk away from station
3- see beyazıt square and grand bazaar
4- walk down to sultanahmet square from there (10 min)
5- see blue mosque, ajasofia and Basilica Cistern
6- walk 5 min on same street : you will see topkapı palace
7- if u are not tired walk like 15-20 min more you will be in eminönü (or just take tram)
8- visit other side of grand bazaar, enjoy golden horn, maybe eat fish sandwich from boats
9- pass across to bridge to karakoy
10- visit famous karakoy güllüoğlu baklava shop (5 min walk from bridge)
11- go to galata tower
12- walk to istiklal street
13- reach to taksim
14- take bus to beşiktaş; dolmabahçe palace
15- walk around beşiktaş
16- take ferry tour on phosphorus (not in 12:00; better on sunset)
17- back to taksim and airport

It is route, you cant do it in one day.. do what you can and ignore some of them. u to you. you can check some turkish hamam and waterpipe place around sultanahmet.

/trv/ I have a simple question to those who are from Europe and have worked in Canada.

I'm German citizen, applied for a work permit earlier this year, and after completing the process received a letter stating this:

>A permit authorizing you to work will be issued to you on your arrival to Canada following an examination by an officer of the Canada Border Services Agency

On the second page, I can find those two sentences:

>If you are from a country/territory which requires a temporary resident visa (TRV), you have also been issued a visa.
>If you are from a country/territory which does NOT require a temporary resident visa, you have also been issued an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
>Your eTA is valid for multiple visits to Canada, until (yyyy/mm/dd). Your eTA number is XXXXXXX and is linked to the passport.
An actual date and number are in the letter.

Germany seems to need a TRV, therefore I have been issued a visa, if I understand this correctly.

Today I received a letter from my airline, stating:
>Guests traveling to Canada must provide eTA at check-in.

I neither have the work permit, nor the visa, since I will be given both of those things, when arriving in Canada.
I'm unsure if the eTA provided in the letter actually works, or if this is just some machine generated stuff, that is placed on each of those letters.

Do I still need to apply for an eTA, or will the letter be enough for both, the check-in and the arrival at the destination airport?

Also, Canada general, I guess?

German's don't need temporary resident visas (you only need one if you'll work, study, etc.) and you have an eTA number.

I'm glad you won't be working for me.
>>
>>1292503
>German's don't need temporary resident visas (you only need one if you'll work).
I already said that I applied for a work permit, which pretty much tells you that I plan wo work there.
Therefore I need the TRV, as you said yourself.

The actual answer for me is:
>you have an eTA number

Thanks anyway, dickhead.
>>
>>1292500
just in case you're still struggling with this...

as the letter says you have been assigned an eTA, because the act of applying for the work permit invitation was enough to qualify for the eTA check and authorisation

the eTA is electronic and linked to your passport, when they scan the passport all the details of the eTA will come up for them

as an EU citizen you are only required to have an eTA to enter canada

the working visa has not been issued to you and will not be issued to you until you land in canada and present your letter of invitation

the immigration officer will decide if you have met the requirements of the invitation letter, like having a resume, suitable health insurance etc and will grant you the working visa that you qualify for (health work requires more checks)

pro-tip if you want to stay the maximum you can, make sure your insurance covers that time period (2 years i think) from your arrival or you will only get a visa for as long as your insurance covers you

i'm going from memory so make sure you know the rules yourself

Possibly the worst vlog ever made

My girlfriend and I fly into Bologna on October 25th, and then fly out of Milan on October 30th.

We will catch trains in between cities. We've been to Bologna before (and loved it) so will probably only stay one night. And I'd like to do 2 nights in Milan before we leave. But where should we go in between?

Looking at a map/train routes, we could maybe do Verona and Lake Garda, or Parma/modena?

Would love any tips you have for places I may not have considered?

We like to eat good food, drink good beer and wine, visit museums, and are quite partial to a bit of nature/hiking if that's feasible.
