Were they not around when the emperor was alive? Do they not remember the Imperial Truth? How come they didn't intervene when the Adminitratum and Ministorum fucked up the emperor's vision for humanity and turned the imperium into a shithole?
>>50583570
>How come they didn't intervene when the Adminitratum and Ministorum fucked up the emperor's vision for humanity and turned the imperium into a shithole?
Because that was never their fucking job?
>"Hey, I know you totally fucked up guarding the Emperor but why don't you go fuck up again by not guarding him on the throne to do this job you're totally not suited for and were never meant to do and have no interest in doing?"
They guard the Emperor. They're his fucking guards. That's why.
>>50583570
The Custodes were made to be warriors. Physically, mentally, everything. They don't do politics. They make sure the Astronomicon gets fed, they escort the tech-priests who work on the Golden Throne, they keep the corrupted webway portal shut, they guard the Imperial Palace. And keep in mind the Imperial Palace is an enormous fortified labyrinthine structure built onto and into the ENTIRE HIMALAYAN PLATEAU. They have their hands full.
>>50586726
Doesn't the head Custodes sit on the council of Terra? Isn't he on the same fucking council for ten thousand years now?
> " We have decreed that the emperor is divine now"
> "Well no he's not faggots I have proofs right here"
> "HERESY!"
> "U wot m8" ?
And this shit goes on for ten thousand years..he must think that the High Lords and humanity is getting progressively more retarded and is just balckpilled about life at this point
Do you guys have any recommendations on low magic fantasy books ? I prefer single books and not long series.
>>50581865
Depending on what you consider low fantasy you might like The Wardstone Chronicles. It is a series but the first few books all work fine as stand alones since there's not an overarching plot until later.
>>50581865
>low fantasy
not a lot that aren't at least trilogies...
"Lamb" and "Fool", by Christopher Moore, they're both satires with fantasy elements, I'd recommend them for humor value over fantasy though.
there is "The Lies of Locke Lamora" by Scott Lynch, but thats the first book of three in an ongoing series.
there is the "Night Angel" series by Brent Weeks, it's a trilogy, and it's fantasy is climbing up the curve towards middle fantasy from low fantasy
the Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb...
these days nobody I know makes 1-offs in low fantasy.
>>50581993
>>50582360
I will give them a look!
I would rank LotR as a low-middle magic setting if that is to any help.

I'm digging the themo optic camouflage effect but I think you'll want to go with a much thinner effect. I thought it was fire at first.
Now I need to figure out what the fudge I'm going to do for her base.
Let's get in the spirit of the holidays, /tg/! Christmas, Hanukkah, whatever holidays you celebrate, I don't give a shit. Just make it /tg/ and make it fun!
>tell us about how That Guy drank all the eggnog and then wouldn't stop farting
>regale us with tales of your awesome GM's adventure wherein the party had to rescue, fight, or evade capture by Santa Claus

>tell me what your FLGS does for the holidays
Tis the season to be jolly, /tg/. So let's be jolly.
>>50570587
spent a few hundred dollars on warhammer shit for my buds.
>>50570622
A few hundred dollars? Given GW's prices, that's what, like six models total?
Kidding. That's really cool of you, anon.
>>50570587
>>tell us about how That Guy drank all the eggnog and then wouldn't stop farting
Don't have any stories, you need to go to parties and shit for that and I'm a shutin.
>>regale us with tales of your awesome GM's adventure wherein the party had to rescue, fight, or evade capture by Santa Claus
I had a few players not able to make a session, so I ran a mini-adventure called Commoners Save Christmas instead of normal session. It involved Christmas Hobgoblins, a Hearty Woodsman, flying reindeer, Flizz Blastwick, and The Wizard. 'Twas a good time.
>>post funny holiday-themed miniatures and art
Again, n/a.
>>tell me what your FLGS does for the holidays
Weirdly, though my FLGS is fucking sweet (shout out to the Guardtower) they don't really celebrate the holidays at all. Basically, they put a wreath on the door and call it a day.
Can we have a funny/comics/memes/reaction image thread?
Anything /tg/ related, tabletop jokes, whatever. Greentexts would be good. Trying to fill up my folder, my collection is outdated and tiny.
>>50530498
Fucking hell.
That last frame completely ruins the joke.
Why the fuck do webcomics always do that?
>>50530682
Yep
gurps is literally "3d6 roll under the system"
>>50530682
ya idk, it was like the only /tg/ themed funny image I could find at the time.
I like this one, it's kind of funny.
I'm really lacking any good stuff tho idk, we're just not a 'meme' sort of community so I guess I haven't saved anything good.
>TFW you play a 750 Pt Leauge Game and your opponent brings three riptides
What are riptides? And is 750 pts a lot, or a little?
What is this post about?
>>50572915
It's about faggots like you.
>>50572915
Riptides are giant anime mechas that people don't like playing against in Warhammer 40,000. They're tough, maneuverable, have a lot of firepower, long range, can shoot at troops that teleport near them before the teleporters can act.
Plus it's just annoying when you bring a balanced list to fight all enemy types and suddenly all your anti-infantry weapons are almost useless because someone brought a whole army of heavily armoured mechas/tanks
Now that I'm about to become a dad I have to seriously cut back on the gaming time. So now I have two options. I can either hand off the campaign to one of my players and let them DM it or seriously cut it down in frequency. I took it to a vote and the vote was evenly split.
What do?
>>50567857
Squash your crotchfruit.
>OP becoming a dad
Say goodbye to your freetime m8
sucks to be you
Congratulations to you and your husband. Did the paperwork take long?
On more serious note: Hand it over. Holding responsibility for something you already know won't be able to do properly only makes sense when you're getting paid for it.
So, the thread is simple and I'm not trying to create skub. In any format whether it be casual, vintage, legacy, modern, standard, edh etc..
What do your opponents do that absolutely grind your gears? This can be out of game (like constantly moving cards in their hand or something) to metagame, cards you absolutely hate, anything. Just whatever pisses you off?
I'll start (and probably catch a lot of shit)
>he plays mono blue in casual
pic absolutely unrelated
>>50559605
easily
>>50559619
I am guilty of this myself
I hate when my opponent doesn't show up, like why bother registering in the first place

KASHALN EDITION.
What's his homeworld like guys?
Was he a rising star sorta warlord on there, or was he taken in by a ruler and eventually fill his shoes?
Was he fighting mostly against other humans or was there some other threat present?
>>50484871
Kashaln should be around. He might be able to give us some insight.
>>50484871
I'd been imagining something dry and hilly, with fertile river valleys and forests. The sort of climate that lends itself to city states and the occasional steppe Empire that manages to bind river valley to river valley.
I'm imagining a very stereotypical Indo-European feel to it. Where Anshul has all the Indian stuff to happen post Vedas-- Upanishads, Shiva, Brahma and the like, Kashaln is more Indo-Aryan, Vedic/Gathas. He'd be more about Aryaman and Indra and Ares.
I also like the idea of borrowing from Sub-Saharan north Africa, like the Mande society organized around the Sunjata epic. Non-Bantu stuff never gets enough love. Would mean that there would be two special classes, the jeliu, which would be story tellers and sorcerors and the traore? Smiths and sorcerors.
On the subject of everyone's favorite evil space Buddhists, how about a cult of the Varja from Space Tibet. They'd have a thing for lightning that dispels ignorance, but paradoxically have an intense interest in those who unknowingly serve chaos and those who resist.
They'd have gotten their start as an exchange with the Sky Serpents.
They weild warp lightning and thought constructs. Blades of pure thought, paradox lances, etc. But also things akin to the Abomination Engines of the Behemoth Guard. They ride demonic versions of wind horses.
It's your favorite fantasy setting, but all sentient bipeds that exceed 4 feet tall have dropped dead.
How does the settings reform? How do the midgets explain the universal bisection of the tall ones?
>things like haflings, kobolds, or goblins survive
>dwarves may be too tall, dunno.
>actual runts/midgets of a traditionally tall species survive, but not children that would otherwise grow to normal height
Lord of the Rings
>Goblins plunged into chaos as all their leaders die and none of them are strong enough to assert dominance
>Nature damaged as Radagast is killed and the animals battle each other
>Hobbits happy to have their tea time, though they do miss the fireworks shows
>Hobbits figure that this is how adventuring would eventually end
>>50586251
>human midgets become members of a protected class
>considered keepers of tall knowledge
>elaborate and grotesque religions are formed sacrificing anyone to an unknown god for the crime of climbing high
>>50586251
The economy collapses as businesses in all areas suffer from short staff.
Even if new Sisters don't come, what's to stop an Anon from taking some Sisters of Silence, giving them sallets from the Skitarii kit or using bitz from other kits, and just turning those into SoB?
>>50585242
Absolutely nothing. But that takes extra work. And that's all well and good, but I bet they want a rules update just as much as they want models. You could always find ways to make it happen. Hell there are half a dozen plastic alternatives available through third parties. Sister players just want some love.
>>50585291
Witch Hunters came out in 2003, that's 13 years without a real codex.
They should be happy, having to keep their faith in the face of adversity is completely in-character for their army.
>>50585242
I don't need fucking models, i have the superior cheesy models from RH. i just want good rules anon
What are the underlying principles of the tank/damage/support strategy? What sorts of abilities or qualities does a character need in order to satisfy their role? What types of skills are helpful but not required? I ask because I'm playing in a small team as a tank soon and I want to understand my responsibilities better.
What game are you talking about OP? Specifics may help/ Generally speaking however, a Tank would have more HP/Wounds than other characters and some ability that either provokes enemies to attack him, or a means to intercept attacks meant for allies. Damage does damage, fairly simple. Supports can support in a number of ways, you can have a healbot who just undoes damage you've suffered, or a more buff centric support who improves the capabilities of their allies. Or more utility supports, though these will vary upon your system.
>>50582841
Well the system is cypher. (I know a lot of people don't like it, but it's what my group plays, so whatever) It adds an interesting layer because the cost for special abilities actually comes right out of your health pools. The starting character I've built has 4 armor (unmodified damage maxes out at six) he has a costly ability that nullifies the next melee attack, and an ability that makes it easier for my allies to dodge the attacks of an enemy I hit.
>>50582951
I see. Unfortunately, I know bugger all about Cypher. Those sound like universally good abilities though.

Absolutely nothing.
