Can anyone hint me a good overarching plot for a campaign set in a faux XIX century europe? Low fantasy to non-fantasy if possible
It seems that the setting is prone for romance books and family intrigues, but not so much for adventure and monster slaying.
Thinking of adding zombies, but I'd prefer something more original
Return of Napoleon. Like, decades after he dies a young, charismatic man claiming to be Napoleon emerges and takes over France and launches an invasion on the rest of the world.
Cool shit happens from there I guess. Also all the PCs are lesser nobles or figures in rising republics, with very low magic elements based on hermeticism and faith.
Sort of a 19th century Fire Emblem plot.
Dynastic struggle among a powerful landholding family.
The head died without an heir but had three brothers. All the brothers died but not before having sons of their own. Oldest brother has youngest son, youngest brother has the oldest. There's also a living sister.
Party has to choose a claimant to support and how.

The Apocalypse is incoming, or atleast so says the wise dictator of the state who is using his massive military advantage to conquer all the neighboring states so as to achieve a united humanity against the daemonic onslaught who surely will come any day now. It's up to the party to act as a scouting vanguard in places ofinterest and toso stop any daemonic/monster incursions which might lay the groundwork for the daemonic invasion. Or will they perhaps find out that not everything is as it seems?
These violent delights have violent ends...
Holy shit, just finished Westworld, and GODDAMN SON that i show you setup for a season 2.
I dont think I could ever hope to coming close to delivering a game session like that. The concept and the delivery were amazing. Absolutely fucked with me, having my perception paradigm altered like that. How do you even compare it? Theres just no way to convey the disconnect in perspective, or the jarring shifts between "Reality" and "Narrative". Hell, I'm still not sure it ins't all some elaborate Narrative itself!
I was just thinking about it when I saw this thread.
In retrospect, some things are imperfect, but overall it is really an excellent use of the medium.
Replicating this in a game session would be a matter of manipulation on the meta level with a master plan that couldn't be hurt by a party of marauding murderhobos.
Outside of the setting, music and acting I didn't like it at all. The series never reached the potential that killing the fly at the end of the first act alluded to
>>50591133
>Hell, I'm still not sure it ins't all some elaborate Narrative itself!
Ford's point was that human nature leads people to place themselves in narrative loops without realizing it for their entire lives and when those loops are threatened they turn violent and lash out. Hosts are supposed to be better than that.
Westworld would probably work for freeform RP but it wouldn't be great for a tabletop unless the players want to play a faux Western setting without any risk to their characters. Philosophical existentialism doesn't translate well to gameplay so at best you'd just have a campaign about someone wanting to smuggle their waifu bot out of the park or how a vengeful host learned how to murder people.

Some anons were discussing a doc in the last thread. Anything ever come of that?
>Elder Gods are still a thing, right?
Of course they are, they're the most involved aspect of D3C. Don't you get it anon? We're the Elder Gods and /tg/ is our dark realm.

Quick, post Unforgiven!
I cant decide which of those faces is my favorite, the genestealer or the necron
Christmas has come early with 60 quid of flawless recasts.
Dwarves at the coastal mountain-foot city of Dawnskeep had obtained 7 doohikeys that enabled them to begin their conquest of the Kavirlands, a massive NW continent marked by oppressive mountain ranges
Chrom. Dragons from the north came down and ended up stealing one because they're assholes.
Metalic Dragons bargain to get their own from the dwarves in promise to beat back the other darginz and keep all that nonsense in the north -in- the north. No dragons seen past the WE DragonStocks range after this.
One given to the Elves for some reason as the High Elves rose to a huge Brittanian sea-power. Possibly to help them in the Merrow war that got them there, or to keep them out of Kavir waters.
One turned into a permanent crown atop the Dwarf King's head that is never to leave Dawnskeep.
One given to the head of the Army to use in invasions, which gets 'lost' (see later) in a power struggle in Dawnskeep.
One is used in a war in the north that leads to a huge crater forming, unexplained rn- to be used for a future campaign surrounding Evocation and themed like Borderlands (But with dragons).
Here's the important one to the adventure I'm going to work on- one was given to a human trader/lord who offered to make a permanent settlement beyond the Kavir mountains, basically trying to form a connection of civilization from the west coast, through the Kavir maze, to the east coast. He was given this and he headed east and succeeded, but by now that mcguffin is lost.
-They can each be split into three parts. Together they can make you a great king- but the knowledge of them as pieces of seven has been long lost by most people. Three cults (part of the power struggle, who broke apart the army general's mcguffin to use together but ended up in-fighting and losing them) are scattered around the region acting as factions. The party will discover pieces of at least these three (plus three) pieces and run into the remnants of the cults who can turn them to magic items.
>>50590211
>What should these items be?
Rings of course.
And their holder should be named the Lord of the Rings.
For their magic was forged in elder times upon the script of aelfs.
The magic of the cycle of life and death, kingdom and authorship.
However, how would they be split in three if they are but rings? Marble-sized "thirds" don't scream '!IMPORTANT?' but maybe that'd be the point. If they don't notice a little shiny orb, someone else takes it and warlords keep popping up until they take this random piece of loot- shadow of mordor style.
>>50590294
That sounded like sarcasm, to be honest. Implying that your setting is far too similar to Lord of the Rings. And perhaps thus that the actual items themselves are of little interest.
Gimme plot ideas for a sci fi mech game.
Bonus points for twists.
>>50590126
The mechs are cute.
>>50590126
Turns out Humans are tiny compared to ALL the other races and some of the weird 'mechs' they've done missions with are actually just regular sized aliums.
>>50590126
An older Mech Computer gets taken over by/develops into a full AI and goes rogue.
>All these incredibly shitty RPG systems
>All these incredibly shitty RPG players
Do shitty RPGs make shitty players or do shitty players make shitty RPGs?
Pic related:standard PCs
>>50589939
Neither.
Shitty players are shitty players and shitty RPG makers make shitty RPGs
>>50589939
I'm aware you're trying to make a bait thread but the way I see it is:
>Casual faggots who think they can do better make a shit game (looking at you, ruleslights)
>This shit game in turn attracts more casuals
>Casual players then overtake the hobby and everything is ruined
And that's why /tg/ is even worse now.
>>50589939
Don't talk shit about my waifu, you son of a bitch.
Good evening,
New to 40k & I just purchased the Start Collecting ORKS box along with the Ork Codex. I opened the box and it's a bit overwhelming in regards to all the different weapons in here. Is there any wargear items that I should really avoid? I've done some research but I'm not certain how accurate it is. So, Shoota or Choppa Boyz? & a decent/fun Nobz load out would be really appreciated. I have an itchy gluing finger.
Thanks!
>>50588745
Orks are pretty terrible. Just assemble them in way you think looks coolest, they'll be just as effective no matter what.
>>50588745
>I just purchased the Start Collecting ORKS
I'm so sorry.
>>50590338
this. if you want your orks to be good, play Age of sigmar,

Jumpers, have you everignored the drawback cap?
>>50588761What drawback cap?
>>50588761
That is my houserule for every jump.
Yo, I'm running a D&D-esque post apocalypse game and I need some help coming up with ideas for enemies, NPCs, weapons, etc... Any creative people out there willing to lend a hand?
>>50588393
Can you give us a little more information about the setting?
How about you telling us at least the basics of the setting, you lazy ass. My telepathy is a bit rusty, I can't read your mind.
Also what do you have this far?
>>50588393
Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches attacking a caravan of Lettuce.
Fellow 5e gms, how do I balance variant humans with my "everyone gets a bonus feat at 1st level" houserule?
I feel like 2 bonus feats at first level would be broken, so I was considering replacing it with an extra skill training of their choice
My players didn't like this, the guy who was going to play human got angry saying it was going against the official rules, but they were all fine with the extra feat
What should I do?
>>50588281
Literally just remove Variant Humans. The autistic faggot can still play a faggot, he can still get more skill points than every other race has at creation, he can still have his free feat since everyone gets one, he just can't be a min-maxing faggot and get two feats. If he has a problem with this, kick his ass out of the group because he's shown he's the type of person who's just going to keep on being a problem as time goes on.
In fact, show him this post. Anon, quit being a faggot.
Don't let anyone take feats. Problem solved, optional rules should stay optional.
>>50588281
Just let them have the +1 to every ability score of the standard human on top of the variant human-equivalent bonus feat?
My roommate is making a dart fighter for a 2e game. With the RoF and attacks per round for specializing, does the RoF allow him to able to throw 4 darts per round or does he get 4 dart per attack per round?
Other info; Human, Str 18/00, Con 16, Dex 17, Int 14, Wis 16, Cha 16.
Nothing?
This has got to be the most specifically esoteric question I've ever seen. Holy shit.
>>50588976
Eh... you've obviously never been in /pfg/ or the Ask an MTG Judge thread. There is something fundamentally wrong with 3.PF in the way you construct a character level by level the same way you assemble an MTG deck.
Wait
What?
>>50587421
I'm intrigued.

Well now you need to click it and post results
>>50587421

My gosh.
Plz post results!
... I'm afraid to try it myself.
