Guys what motivates you too cook?
I loved to cook then my stomach went to shit and I drank tea for about a week with one meal a day and eating chocolate to make up for calories because my tummy area hurt when I ate food.... Found out its the worst when I have a fuck ton of really sweet sugary shit at once or eat meat. So I've gone vegetarian with relapses when I feel like I hate myself(can't eat fish either) alcohol helps though and I think im getting a bottle of spirytus to help me...
Needless to say I've lost pretty well all motivation to cook for myself meow.....
So what motivates you?
Also if anyone has any really goood veggie receipes please do put them. I still cook I've just lost the joy that came with it....
I cook cause I'm fuckin hungry
My parents both hated cooking. And they were terrible at it when they tried.
I grew up thinking grilled cheese sandwiches with canned tomato soup was a Wednesday dinner thing in all families.
Thursdays were KD. Picture related.
Now I enjoy discovering how to cook meals for myself. From scratch.
When I want more veggies in my system I make soups or smoothies.
Become a smoothie master OP.

That used to be enough for me but when it hurts you to eat anything you kinda stop caring..
What you think /ck/? Is this place a meme or legit? One just opened a few blocks from me and people at work won't shut up about it. I checked it out, selection seemed somewhat limited but they have decent cheese counter. Lots of frozen shit.
Meme.
It's only good for premade/frozen shit. Apparently the beer is good, but I've never tried it.
But for fresh produce and meat, it's garbage.
Depends on what you are looking for and the size of the store I guess. The one near me isn't huge. So I never see any of that bullshit stuff the internet talks about. Their sushi is the 2nd best store bought sushi I ever had.
It's pretty much all store brand stuff. It's as cheap as the name brand stuff you'll find at the supermarket but a little better. They also have a bunch of stuff you won't find elsewhere. They have more employees working at any given time than the other supermarket I go to, which is like 10 times bigger.
BOGO la croix at publix
you heard it here first
>>8182168
why do women love la croix so much
>>8182171
Idk, they are la croix sluts

The coconut is the only flavor worth buying, and nearly all the stores around me don't carry it. Only one has it, and only sporadically. So, fuck it.
"Hey anon! Want to try some of my garden fresh """"salsa?"""""

Say that to my face and not on the internet and see what happens

I have chicken breast and pasta n i want to cook a meal. I'm probably going to the store on the weekend to get any ingredients I need. Anything i could add to make a better meal?
I usually cook my chicken like pic, with garlic and salt. Any ideas what kind of sauce i can make that goes well with that?
Thanks.
Chicken piccata
Get yourself a lemon and go nuts
>cook chicken like usual
>add some sour cream when it's done cooking and scrape the bottom of the pan (lightly if non-stick) so the rendered juices will mix in it

Slice open chicken breast to make a pocket. Be careful not to cut all the way through, flatten out a bit if necessary.
Stuff with crushed garlic, finely chopped mushrooms, goats cheese and spinach.
Wrap in streaky bacon, wrap again in pancetta.
Oven bake at 200c for 30 mins.
Discard pasta, it's for fags.
Serve with asparagus, and a white wine jus.
Picked up my first bottle of ZU the other day, and I'm on the fence. It's okay for sipping in small quantities, a little too perfume-like for my taste; don't think I'd do it in a cocktail.
What's /ck/'s opinion?

Put it in the freezer. Shots.
Other than that:
Muddle cucumber & lime
Elderflower Cordial
Zubrowka
Crushed ice
or Mojito with zubrowka (Zubrito)
Muddle cucumber
Orange Bitters
Lime Juice
Syrup
Zubrowka
shake/strain martini glass
top prosecco
makes a nice caiprioska
My bottle of honey has reached it's best by date. I know I can keep using it but I would like to use it quickly. What are some ways? I have around 24oz left.
>best by date
They found honey in 3000 year old Egyptian tombs that was still good.
Honey never goes bad, anon.

I'm doing the food for my little brother's 21st on Saturday and I wouldn't mind some ideas for sides, /ck/.
I'm doing smoked pork ribs with a homemade bbq sauce.
Was thinking of a potato salad with a ranch sauce using homegrown dill and parlsey, sherry vinegar, capers and pepperberry.
What else do you think would be fun?
I'm in Australia and it's starting to get hot out, so keep that in mind. Pic is the ribs I did for last year's Christmas.
Was also thinking of a salad consisting of semi-dried tomatoes, pickled cucumber, crumbled ricotta, diced red onion, a honey vinaigrette and plenty of black pepper and orange zest.
homegrown dill?
Make Chef John's shrimp pasta salad. Quite good and tastes better if made ahead.
Picture extremely related.
I would sub the ranch for something neutral like sour cream or even just olive oil. For other sides, can't go wrong with Mac and cheese, and coleslaw.
Sweet rolls go good too.
Why is this allowed? It's ok if you're an autistic child but any adult who doesn't have the excuse should just suck it up and let their food touch.
>>8179454
I'm autistic. I don't care if food touches.
However, I do like the idea of having my food in easy little compartments. Makes it fun, like eating a TV dinner or having a school lunch.
If that was my plate, I would select different bites and mix two or three ingredients at a time to try out the different combination flavors.
>>8179454
I can dig this not in an autistic way but in a meal-of-lots-of-small-dishes way.
could be a portion control thing
fill it up once and dont go back for seconds
probably doesnt work well though
Never had foie gras in my life! Am I missing something out?
>>8177719
Yes
>>8177719
It's a relatively affordable luxury. Super rich because it's fatty as fuck. Not exactly something you'd carve on a day to day basis, but it's fun for special occasions. Don't expect it to blow your mind, but it is delicious and worth trying.
Gavange is either the most cruel thing you can do to a goose... or it's geese figure out how they can enjoy their own gluttony till they die.
It's hard to figure out.
How often do you buy and eat fast food?
Be honest.
>>8173388
...daily.
Taco Bell like once or twice a month
>>8173388
Never.
