Alright /ck/ I hate the taste of pic related but I need to actually put muscle on, what's something simple I can make with whey protein that will mask the taste?
I usually get the vanilla flavoured powders and add cinnamon and sometimes nutmeg.
There's not much you can do with chocolate. Maybe add coconut?
>>8179863
Make pancakes? There is some comoany that sells whey pancake mix at a huge markup. I don't know but I'm sure it is just pancake mix and whey powder.
Probably any baked good as well.
>>8179863
My stomach gets upset on whey but im /fit/ and had to find a way. I blend it with water ice yogurt. Frozen berries on occasion. Making it cold makes me enjoy it actually and doesnt upset my stomach. Could do oatmeal and oatmeal pancakes they're ok.
hi /ck/
i don't do much cooking or know much about food, but my gf is both great at cooking and loves doing it.
i'd like to get her a knife block for christmas, so i'm looking for recommendations as well as general info. our current knives are shit bobby flay brand knives that have all but fallen apart, so anything is a step up
-the max end of my budget is probably $500. ideally i'd like something less than that, because i want to get her other items for christmas besides this, but i understand that good quality products ain't cheap
-a lot of sets seem to share paring, bread, and chef's knives, but differ on whether they include a "utility knife" or a "santoku knife." what are the benefits of each knife, and why should i choose one over another?
-how important is proper knife maintenance/regular knife sharpening in ensuring that these knives don't get fucked up over time?
-pic related is from Sur La Table. it seems nice, although given that it's an SLT exclusive item, i'm sure it's very overpriced
Oh good I've been waiting for a knife thread. I found a 7" Farberware Pro Forged Santoku for $3, did I do good?
>>8177917
no, could have talked them down to atleast $2.75
•Don't buy knives as a gift, that's bad luck breh
•Knife sets are more often than not a bit of a ripoff, you can buy the individual knives much cheaper, and for the same money you can buy much better knives
•Utility and Santoku knives are basically just small chef's knives. The santoku was designed to be the One and Only Knife for a home cook who basically only chops veg and chicken breast up for stew, while the utility knife is... just kind of an extra knife.
Neither of them do anything a chef's knife can't and neither of them should be your deciding factor.
•Maintenance is always important, but improper maintenance will hurt far more than no maintenance at all.
Please don't ever run your nice knives though a carbide knife shredder.
have you also been eating pizza wrong your whole life?
>>8183977
I eat pizza with chopsticks, unlike you literal animals
>>8183977
That's way too many folds. One is enough, just eat it like a giant taco
>>8183977
For me at least pizza really isn't fuel you pump into your system as fast and efficiently as possible.
Today is Oktoberfest day at the hospital cafeteria!
Wew lad. Get well soon.
Hope everything is ok
so you're gonna be there an extra month after this meal I assume...
why does fairy taste so good?
>>8183553
I hear Clorox tastes better
>>8183553
I'm a fabuloso man myself.
Ajax is delicious in cereal.
I am going to have dinner with my brother and a friend of mine. I am thinking about getting some hare making some fries and drinking Trappist. What can I use to add some diversity and nutritional value. I have some carrot and bacon
>>8183494
Despite your file name, that is a picture of a Rabbit mate.
Rabbits are NOT hares.
I always though that roasted root vegetables go well with hare. Get some small potatoes, parsnips, carrots, pearl onions (or shallots). Toss with some fat (ideally, duck fat or bacon dripping) then roast in a hot oven.
>>8183503
this.
>>8183508
Thanks. Will do.
I also thought it looked more like a rabbit. But it was too cute not to use.
How can I quickly coat chicken nuggets with flour? I tried putting it all in a bag and shaking it up but it came out very half assed and some nuggets were barely covered
I would just suck it up and roll it in the flour by hand but I have to make 10 fucking lbs of chicken nuggets
you could go egg, flour, egg
>>8182245
Lay them on a tray. Sift flour over them. shake the tray a bit to get the sides. Put another tray on top and flip. Remove first tray. Sift over the other side.
Pretty simple.
I want your most interesting/weird pizza topping combos
Something good not weird just for the sake of weird
Your can also post your personal favorites
I make a ton of pizza and I just wanna try new shit
Pic related, made strawberry, goat cheese and balsamic pizza ones it was surprisngly good.

I DONT LIKE SPAM!
>anything sweet on a pizza
Yuck.
If you were on the verge to die of starvation, would there be some food you wouldn't eat, even if it meant you would die?
>>8181624
Depends entirely on the situation and if I had anything to live for.
If I hypothetically had loved ones waiting for me, and all I had to do to see them again and get real food, and it was guaranteed that would happen, I'd eat anything.
On the other hand, if, hypothetically, I had no one and was already destitute and there was no reason to go on, I would probably accept death by starvation, or off myself in some more expedient way.

Wasabi paste
my body has such a strong rejection towards it even if the paste had enough calories to keep me going for another day I would vomit the sack of my stomach

Is it true that Instant Ramen can really fuck your body up?
I'm trying to eat with budget and they look like such an awesome deal for something that's pretty damn delicious but everyone I know swears that they are basically poison
Can someone clarify this to me? is it actually true or just some dumb superstition?
Have you tried looking at the nutritional info on the back of the package?
It's just fat, carbs, and sodium. Try adding protein so it's more filling.
Probably a lot healthier than what most restaurants serve.
>>8174321
There's a shitton of salt in them. Don't drink the broth.
Other than that it's just old school MSG fear.
Why do you care about what's good or bad for you? Unless you want to live to be 40 just eat the damn thing.
>certified organic
>contains carrageenan
Is USDA Organic labeling a joke?
>>8183038
Yes. Watch Feeding Frenzy.
>>8183038
Why is that not organic?
>>8183038
> carrageenan
It's a seaweed extract, numbnuts. Believe it or not, some "big" words don't have anything to do with chemicals.
Now go back to remedial 6th grade biology, and brush up before you open your ignorant mouth again.
Has anyone tried eating nutmeg? I heard it fucks you up.
americano obeso come comida chatarra hijo de perra jajajaja
>>8182611

eat some, small amount of dose, after 2 hours start feeling like Im gonna vomit, shaking, headache. Feel like stoned, stomache was fucked up for another day either, nothing pleasure. Try find a recipe to get a extract from it but if you have acces to anything else take it.

>>8182374

>>8182365

Turkey or beef burgers, /ck/?
beef i would assume
>>8182186
Turkey is pretty good.
They're both good
>>8182528
I like turkey more, honestly. Beef has such a heavy flavor. Turkey is nice and light.
