If I buy fresh peaches during the summer and can them myself, will they taste like pre canned ones?
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>8182537
probably not. most canned peaches are floating around in pear juice so they are even sweeter. but thats not to say yours wouldnt be good
>>
You don't like peaches, you like sugar
>>
>>8182543
Yogurt tastes nice plain. I don't like blueberry or strawberry, but peach fruit on the bottom or the kind in the OP image, there's something delicious about it.

Is it worth it to go to a culinary school?
89 posts and 6 images submitted.
>>
maybe, but most of the culinary grads i cook with are lazy and cant work the line for shit.
>>
>>8181854
only if the piece of paper is necessary for a job you want
in the modern day with all the info online you can become a real good cook at your house and don't have to pay someone money to do it
>>
Like with everything else you can theoretically self teach you just as well you just need to answer three questions.

1. do I have real passion for cooking and want to make it my job?
2. do I lack the self discipline for self teaching but have enough discipline to be able to learn in the right environment and under guidance?
3. do I need the school to prepare my skills and the qualification to find the right kind of job instead of getting right into a kitchen job?

If you answer to all of this is yes you can go for it.

If you want to grow big and tall Popura, you need to eat three big meals a day.
>>
as long as you aren't hungry the rest of the day
>>
>>8179989
No, you need to eat a two meals, one big at the morning and the other might be more like a snack at the evening, never eat at night.

Why is food from a restaurant/takeaway so hard to replicate? How are celebrity chefs considered good when any recipe they write for a cook book is trash? Do they purposefully write sub-par recipes? Is it about the ingredients and equipment people use at home? Why the fuck can home made food never be made to restaurant standard?

Sugar
Salt
MSG

These three things in higher abundance....ever make a mediocre spaghetti sauce? Add a shitload of sugar, suddenly it's delicious

maybe because you are not a professional chef? what recipes did you try?

Yeah, if you have a daily intake of a dozen donuts and a 12 pack of soda. What, you own a corn syrup processing plant?

Need urgent help with sushi
What s this powder that came with the seaweed?
60 posts and 11 images submitted.
>>
I'm pretty sure that's one of those moisture absorbing packs that you are supposed to discard and not open

I'm just guessing because nori gets ruined by the slightest exposure to humidity
>>
Looks like one of those "do not eat" silica packets that come with food to keep it dry, desu.

Although silica usually looks like tiny rocks, not powder.
>>
>>8183716
Probably desiccant. Spread the powder on your seaweed before you roll, ancient Japanese technique for superior sushi

Domingo Ghirardelli
>>
>>8183655
Nice, thanks.

> Originally a chief at a small confectionery manufacture, tenaciously working on a new formula of a Chocolate Pudding Flambé that lights on fire at a press of a button, Domingo Kerman found what his formula lacks in terms of taste, it more than makes up in raw flame energy. Thus Solid Electric was born, the startup first weaponizing assorted desserts, and supported by army contracts for produce that are equally fit to blow up the enemy and supplement soldier's diet, it expanded into aerospace industry. According to Jebediah Kerman, "their products taste so-so, but fly okay."

Christina Tosi would be another option.

I have garlic, olive oil, canned tuna, canned tomatoes, onions, pesto (genovese) and bacon
And pasta.
Which of these ingredients should I combine to make an awesome pasta? I'm hungry as fuck and I have no intentions of going to the store
Also, /pasta/ general I guess
18 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
I'd leave the tomatoes and bacon out and combine the rest personally. Shot some lemon juice and parmesan on top at the end.
>>
>>8184210
Would the pesto/tuna combo work?
>>
>>8184218
Can't see why not, maybe just coat the pasta with a little bit so it's just a hint in the background. Personally I'm not a fan of hot tuna so I'd be tempted to let it go cold and do like a pasta salad type thing.

So me and my house mates take turns stocking up the fridge because, generally, we all eat similarly and aren't picky, but every now and again this one just makes some retarded choices...

I look into fridge, and for sandwiches (usually we keep lunch meat, usually things that go together such as ham and salami) they got sliced chicken, olive loaf, and cheddar cheese.....wtf kind of sandwich is that? Not one of those things goes together...why do some people eat at complete random?

I can tell you this much....poultry should NEVER be eaten with yellow cheese

Olive loaf and cheddar sandwich sounds good. Just needs a little something saucy
