Were there any good Simpsons games other than the arcade game?
Hit and Run, but it's not retro.
Not really, but I have a soft spot for Bart VS Space Mutants, I think the first level is legitimately cool. The rest of the game is meh.
Bart's Nightmare have some cool ideas and I like the spritework in that game the most excluding the arcade game which has the best ones.
Virtual Springfield on PC I hear is nice, but I never played it, I think it's like a point and click adventure.
It's a shame Konami never got to make a console Simpson game in the vein of Tiny Toon Adventures, could have been amazing.
What was the Simpson's game were you were flying and shooting down balloons with a slingshot?
Does anyone know why the Steam version of the ultimate DOOM looks and sounds like crap and how can I fix it. I'm just curious because I'm new to pc gaming and want to know if my computer is causing it. Thanks again.
P.S. I love this board.
>>3685820
Steam is garbage. Why don't you just play Doom on a modern source port for free?
>>3685820
Check the Doom thread
Ultimate Doom on steam uses dosbox, which also isn't configured for Windows 8 or 10
You can easily download a sourceport (GZdoom or Chocolate Doom) and replace "dosbox.exe" with the executable for those.
It's as easy as downloadng and extracting in the Ultimate Doom folder, and renaming gzdoom.exe to dosbox.exe
any tips. games hard
Grind.
Gotta catch 'em all.

How bad is the input lag with buffalo controllers and the mayflash adapter for the wii classic controller pro?
>>3685735
Never tried mayflash but I never noticed any input lag with a Buffalo controller. If there is any, it's negligible.
Ah, the whiny bitch who cries about input lag. I have a logitech controller, but it works fine... except the triggers that are cumbersome to press & analog sticks are not so great.
Why weren't there more games with baller ass fisticuffs? This games fight stance gave you a surprising amount of options. controlled like ass sadly.
>>3685665
>controlled like ass sadly.
Yeeeeeeep. My issue with the game too.
The game is a decent 7/10 imo. It could've easily been a solid 8 or 8.5 if only it had an actual run button. Same with snes turtles in time. i don't mind double tapping to run when it's done right, but i hate it when it's not responsive. And I definitely know that it's not only my problem because I've seen tons of other people complain about it too, including speedrunners who put hundreds of hours into a single game.
I liked howErin would sprout fangs on the continue screen when you died enough times to trigger the bad ending.
Seeing as PseudoSaturn has come, does anyone have any incompabilities with games? I know of Panzer Dragoon Zwei but are there any else? There aren't many listed on his site.
>>3685661
why does it matter? if something is incompatible just take out the AR and do the swap trick.
I'm lucky Panzer Dragoon Zwei happens to be one of the few original Saturn games I own.
>>3685670
It saves me a few CD-Rs, besides don't you need a legit Saturn disc for swapping?
The almighty captcha gods commanded me to make a Valkyrie Profile thread.

Heard good things about the first game. What makes it stand out from contemporary rpg's?

>Heard good things about the first game. What makes it stand out from contemporary rpg's?
Combat system. Story. Gameflow (in that you're on a pretty strict time). Difficulty. That rockin tri-ace soundtrack. Multiple endings. Signature Tri-Ace post-game content.
All the characters you can recruit holy shit.
It was pretty good.
that feeling when you play through this game and get bad ending because you didnt recover all of the bomb
>>3685567
That's Stargate, right?
>>3685620
yes, awesome game.

Felt clunky the time I tried it.
What are some comfy /vr/ city building games?
There are no equals to this in sheer comfiness.
>>3685490
I never get enough of SimCity 2000.
>being an older game you can feel the restrictiveness
>somehow it engulfs you in this timeless bubble where you're ok with that
>your imagination visualizes all of these people's lives at stake if you fuck up
>>3685650
I play a lot of Sim City 4. Is there any appeal in 2000 or any of the older games over 4? I think I used to play 3000 as well and that one had scenarios whereas 4 does not.
So... im building my Super Famicom collection since im not paying the stupid p[rices for American carts, thank you fucking resellers.
Anyways, the only thing io dont like is that they lack the top label so i cant see which game is which when they are on the shelf, i want to print pic related but i have no idea about the correct size, or have any experience at all with photo editors so i was wodnering if any of you guys know where can i get labels like pic related that are just ready to print?
I have access to a nice lasr color printer so thats not an issue.
>>3685404
You're too late, anon. Japan is catching up with reseller prices so it's only a matter of time when Super Famicom games will be just as expensive as SNES games.
If you hate resellers, then stop buying games in a language you can't read. Japanese gamers sell their games back to the store when they are finished with them, they don't collect. This keeps prices low, availability good, and condition pristine. Foreigners buying up games is trampling all over this culture.
Hey guys I'm emulating on a VGA 640x480 CRT.
Question: Do you set a VGA CRT to full or limited color range? Also what gamma curve should be set? 2.2? 2.4 / 2.5? Or a 2.2 to 2.4 / 2.5 curve?
This image shows the optimal settings for black values. 17 should be barely visible and from 16 downward it should be black.
Does a VGA CRT support full color range? Does a TV CRT as well?
Do I have to convert the color range to limited for retro games?
For example in Retroarch you have setting in tv-out.cg for color range full to limited and gamma conversion from 2.2 to 2.4 / 2.5
I'm confused pls help me guys!
The tism is out in full force

the colors on my CRT from the mid '90s look better than my current LCD
What makes this game so fucking perfect? The other Megaman/X games, while being the same in almost every sense, can't even compare. I don't get it.
i always liked the first two games. I sort of consider them a single story in my mind, with x2 resolving the death or zero from x1. This is especially compelling if you consider the "bad" ending of x2 to be canon, because it makes the penultimate climax of the entire story so far a duel between once best friends. Also, in x2 the final boss has not yet lost some meaning via mass repetition in further sequels. It is not a feeling like an obligatory, "of course its sigma again..".
also, the gap between x1 and x2 is seamed together logically and expectedly.
For those reasons x1 and x2 feel unified and complete together, in a way that the rest of the games dont. In fact, to me the rest of the x series serves to dilute the completeness that x1 and x2 have, although many of them are good games standalone.
x2 does for some reason feel a little "lighter" to me for some reason, i think it might be because the color scheme feels a little brighter when compared to x1 which feels a little duller (not as in the game is dull, but as in the color scheme is literally duller/darker than x2).
Just my thoughts from 20+ years of mega man x, not meant to be the "correct" view.
>>3685445
to add a few extra thoughts as well:
starting in x3 i start to get the same feeling i get after the first 3 pirates of the Caribbean movies. Not that i particularly love those movies, but they are a good example of the feeling ive been describing. you have the first movie, which is sort of complete on its own, and then the second one stretches that story and sets up a further story arc which is completed in the third movie. At that point the story arc is complete.
From the forth movie on it just seems like "we have these profitable characters, what new adventure can we stick them into?" instead of acknowledging the completeness that is already established. It would be like if after destroying the one ring in mordor, and the Lord of the Rings coming to a conclusion, there is a new movie where Sam and Frodo now have a new and mostly unrelated adventure to go on. Sure, it might be a good adventure, but odds are it wont be better than the first, and it will almost certainly "dilute" the complete story that has already happened. Instead of the amazing story of the Lord of the Rings, now the journey to destroy the one ring is just one story out of several.
Sadly it's only one step away from perfection, it needs to have the dash from the get go.
Tell me about retro videogaming in Mexico
I heard that KoF and arcades were pretty popular there.
>>3685320
Were, then nuCabs of poorly programmed mame frontloaders on shit pc's started killing them around 2001-2002, then the nuCabs xboxs with play 5 minutes per token for the next 5-6 years and then they died.
KoF was a mediocre franchise, kind of odd to obsess so much over it.
>>3685334
I disagree, it was objectively one of the biggest and best fighting franchises.
Hell, KoF XIV is far better than any shitty fighting game released so far.
What's the best way of getting into SimCity if I don't want to spend a lot of money?
Pirating Simcity 3000
>>3685371
Hypothetically, let's say I was too lazy to pirate and just wanted to drop cash on Steam.
>>3685565
Then you should probably drop cash on steam. Or better yet gog.
