When i was little, i used to have this crappy promotional gamey thing. It had some very simple games on it. Tetris, a car's game where you have to dodge, snake... And then there was this game. It was about what I think were spaceships. They were shaped like a Y. On the first level, you were against some ships like yours. You just had to shoot them from the side or behind, if you put in their line of fire, you lost a life. And then, oh boy, there was the second level. Suddenly you were facing a humongous spaceship, it was invulnerable, or at least I didn't discover any way to beat it. You could only die when you moved into its line of fire.
Does anyone know the name of that game? I would like to replay it and redeem myself.
These things were everywhere when I was a kid. I'm quite sure the Y-shaped things were tanks.
I don't think the games themselves had names but the machine itself was often called Brick Game. I remember the large tank but I can't find evidence that it existed, it was probably a different version since these came with tons of variations of each game, because 9999 in 1.

It was called WW because it was plopped in at the last minute when the original WW was too big to fit in the shitty 2k or whatever we had. You shoot the edges of the mother ship not the middle where, as you know, you get ass raped. Lost the source in 92 when every flip shit kalok drive in the office died at the same time.
I'm having problems with my arcade machine. the brightness is supposed to high on MAME, I adjust it, but every time I quit a game and start another one the brightness and gamma go back to what they were. I'm running mame on a raspberry pi inside an old space invaders cabinet. does anyone know how to make the brightness and gamma changes permanent?
>>3678928
why aren't you adjusting the brightness on the display itself?
>>3678934
mame displays games to brightly, and adjusting the monitor doesn't look the same it does when adjusting mame settings. plus.... the monitor controls are no longer labeled. I took a monitor apart to mount it.
>>3678939
it looks like the backlight is set too high though, which you're not going to be able to set lower if you do it on mame.
This level makes me uncomfortable.
>>3678791
Ah, the '90s. When gross equaled cool
>>3678791
Then it is a success.
>>3678807
the 90s were a pretty fucking bad time to be a kid man
Anyone know what to do about these?
I'm not sure if there's a word for it, but I'm just going to call them texture cracks
While in motion, the floor will sometimes do pic related (the black areas)
>>3678690
>Anyone know what to do about these?
Yeah, play on original hardware like a true fan.
>>3678690
Pretty sure this is just how the PlayStation was

I don't suppose any of you know what this save is for?
For the life of me I can't remember
Parasite Eve.
Parasite Eve?
Just got one of these for free. It smells like cigarettes and also maybe my memory is failing me, but n64 really look blurry on it. I guess that's normal?
What the best CRTV for n64's anyway?
>>3678618
the bigger the better with the n64. Nothing worse than 4 people huddled around a 20" tv tryna play Mario kart.
There's game shark codes you can use to remove the blur.
http://www.retrocollect.com/News/nintendo-64-games-hacked-to-remove-blurry-graphics-via-action-replay-or-flash-cartridges.html
>>3678635
The developers intended for the blur to exist. It helps with the color exchange in the sprites.
That feel when you already played all the classic/good/gem NES,SNES, Genesis, GBA, and Gameboy Color games on emeulator by the end of High School and can't find any pleasure replaying them.
>>3678534
Go out of your comfort zone then. Try new genres and new platforms. There are always new games to try, you just have to try harder.
>>3678543
This OP. Play something else. It sounds like you're trying to go on a nostalgia trip with things that you're not particularly nostalgic about.

This guy is right! Try sucking a cock, you might like it!
What went so right?
>80s/90s Konami
that's what went right

Hiring people who'd found Treasure to work on it.

What is the best website for buying NES games, preferably with international shipping?
>>3678427
A little site, you may have heard of it, called "ebay."
>>3678475
I actually think Amazon is a bit better, but ebay isn't bad. If you don't care if they are reproduction carts, just order off of Ali Express, or better yet if you can afford it, just buy a flash cart.

Do you think DKC could have survived a 4th installment, assuming that the snes was around for a while longer? I mean, what else could Rare had really done with a perfected formula?
>>3678417
Make it 2 big characters. Donkey and Funky. Instead of animal friends, you ride in Funky's vehicles
>>3678417
metroidvania, starring spider, get web upgrades and other weapons to free kongs. bosses that don't suck if that's even possible
>>3678710
>metroidvania DKC
pls no
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is one of my most favorite games and ti inspired a lifelong interest in Atlantis and I wish I had more people to talk with it about.
>>3678416
Even people who don't like adventure games can enjoy it.
I played it once and thought it was cool but I don't remember anything about it except that it was pretty cool.
>>3678416
I loved Fate of Atlantis, but adventure games are hard to talk about sometimes because they are very puzzle-heavy, and puzzle discussion is usually either 1) spoilers for people who haven't played, 2) people complaining about a puzzle that was too hard for them, 3) basically saying "hey remember this cool part?" which isn't that interesting as a topic.
Trying to talk about why a puzzle is cool is a little like trying to talk about why a joke is funny. Yes, you can do analysis and break down the pieces and how they are delivered, but appreciating it as an audience member is still largely a matter of "getting it."
is this gonne be the best?

Any news on this? Or is it still in the "Wouldn't this be neat?" phase.
>no RGB input
What fucking good is that for double-strike sources?

What are some fun RPGs that you rarely see talked about?
the fortress of doom
Faxanadu
>>3678341
For me there are certain FF-DQ games that never get discussed because of not being popular, and every general will shallow them.
Other than that, maybe Pokemon. From time to time you see big threads, maybe there are better boards to discuss the game. And of course Ultima.
I just watched Man vs. Snake.
Do you think Dwayne Richard intentionally used an overclocked processor to get through the game faster, or really didn't realize?
>>3678265
>Dusty old board
>Only clean area is part that controls the snakes speed
>guy works on games for a living
Yeah, I think he's a piece of shit. Don't forget he tried added his own board without asking at that game con but it ended up freezing. It's fucking fishy.
>>3678285
>Don't forget he tried added his own board without asking at that game con but it ended up freezing.
Didn't the documentary explicitly say they'd be bringing their own boards and their own controls?
>>3678287
I think they said it was optional. I remember the main guy bringing his own joystick setup but I don't remember him bringing his own board. Who knows tho. They always shoot these documentaries with some kind of angle.
