What does /vr/ think of Daggerfall unity ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qzzA49W3us
it's probably as bad as the original game. Maybe a little worse due to bugs with a new engine.
>>3681291
This. I feel like Daggerfall is an incomplete game. A new engine could bring the possibility of expanding the game. Rather than that, we got the old DF with better graphics and planes.

Anyways for Daggerfall Unity, it looks good, hopefully they'll continue development and make it more bug-free and stable. Based on the videos I just saw about it, there were clipping and other minor tech issues
they should also do a retro-faithful demo instead of featuring new engine stuff, since it's mostly nostalgiafags that loathe dos that are gonna check it out
it's got potential/10
Matthewmatosis was right, this game IS fun as fuck

Posted this on /v/ earlier but it didn’t get much traction. I played the mobile version of Redshift’s ‘The Quest’ and really enjoyed it. I’m looking for another similar game to scratch my RPG itch and I’d appreciate it if any suggestions are thrown my way. I do have some preferences:
>Blank slate PC, ideally silent
>No team/party
>Challenging and fair
>Decent writing
>Good soundtrack
>No chinese cartoon artstyle
inb4 get Morrowind; already played through it once, a bit hit-and-miss but was an overall pleasant experience. I’m after recommendations outside of what Bethesda offers. Thanks in advance.
The Quest is mostly based on the Might and Magic games. I recommend 4+5 or 6.
But those have parties so if you really don't want that then I guess try Ultima Underworld maybe?
>>3680983
Have you already played Ultima Underworld and Dungeon Hack?
>>3680983
Arx Fatalis maybe.
My controller's gone batshit crazy after I took it apart and reassembled it.
The buttons(mainly the start and dpad buttons) keep pressing on its own and I can't figure out what the hell is wrong with it.
Can anyone help?
here is another pic

Go over the pads with 90% alcohol. The rubber bits should be dull to make best contact. Go over the board with 90% alcohol to remove any grime that might be making contact
You didn't use any dielectric grease on the pads did you? ...I did that once.
Recent pickups?
Got all 3 repros for $20.
>>3680805
>repros
>>3680806
Yeah, because I want to spend $1000+ on these three games.

WAAAIT A MINUTE
It was a month ago or so when some autist posted the same pic and claimed he got these very games for something over $100
You're a liar, OP!
What are the least played games on Fightcade, cause i found literally NO people on Kabuki Klash or Waku Waku 7.
>>3680747
lawl I played WW7 the other night
MVC, KOF2K2, SF3S are usually fairly popular.
>>3680747
>What are the least played games on Fightcade,
virtually everything besides a handful of capcom and SNK fighters are always empty.
>>3680747
Nobody wants to play that weeb shit.
Play a real fighter.
Are there any new fan translations completed or in progress? Where do you guys keep track of these things? Is there a site that lists them?

PC98 seems to have attracted more people to translate things these days.
How many of you people legitimately play the games released late in the systems lifespan?
>>3679989
Many 10/10 games are released near the end of a consoles life. I feel bad for people who don't play them.
>>3679997
The NEO GEO CD is a special case though, it would be nice to play The Last Blade II instead well you know looking at LOADING.
Meme not intended.
>>3679989
If the game is good what difference does it make when it was released in the console's lifespan?
This board makes me scratch my head sometimes.
So I decided to play this on a whim and I cannot for the life of me understand why I cannot trigger the Wizard Quest at the guild, I did everything just finished Lefia Reunion but nope nothing.
Could it be because I spoke to Lefia at the Inn and got that item for the sealed dungeon?
>>3679807
Also while I am at it did anybody else trigger the safe spot spot for Daruk Golem? I destroyed the poor bastard despite only doing about 7 damage per hit.
>>3679807
In this series of games when you don't get a quest to trigger it always means that you missed some clue or failed to finish one of the tasks before it
In Dark Law I seem to recall there were a few things that were very easy to miss, like finding the pendant, and almost all the quests have different variations on how to end them, and changing the result of one quest will alter what happens in another one down the line locking you out of certain possibilities.
Basically, you gotta restart
>>3680131
I didn't miss any quests, but from what i read this quest was a sequel to the one called Sorcerers daughter.
I did everything including reading the homonculus letters and putting those freak shows in the basement out of their misery, Except the last one who I was able to speak with but he said something like "Oh leave me alone il go nuts soon " so I locked the door when i was leaving. Went up and the doctor died scenario over received XP.
Could that have been it?
What does your wife think of the Retro-Bit Generations?
Bitches love the retro bit generations. They like a nice bull who buys this rather than Nintendo mini cucks

Not /vr/
Unless this thing was made in 99. This thread will be purged.
That didn't take long. They're idiots not to have put it in a model 1 shaped case though, even regular sized.
What I think is that it has a dirt cheap composite-to-hdmi upscaler slapped onto it and it'll have all the ass of a FireCrore PLUS lag from the upscaling.
I mean, most of us understand this is a troll thread but somebody should still say it. Get a Wii instead.
Is it safe to say only dumb cavemen liked Sega?
Is it safe to say only neckbeards still play old videogames?
I am not dumb and I am not a caveman, so no I guess it isn't safe to say that at all.
>>3679640
Eat my ass, Sega is awesome
Every time I get into a battle in Xenogears, the music slows down. Is there a way to stop this?
What plugins/ config did you use?
This is my config right now, for context
>>3679478
use eternal spu plugin.
>>3679484
I already am. Is there anything I should change in the config?
So my BSGP Buffalo has arrived from Japan.
The building quality is pretty good. I love the material of the pad, it feels like a combination of silicon and plastic, which is great for those who tend to have sweaty hands.
The d-pad is quite good. Not Hori tier good, but very respectable for it's quality and it's precision.
You can use programmable macro combinations, the controller needs a software which is also included with the package.
Now there are some downsides too. First of all, it is remarkable small. Perhaps not for midgets, but seriously small. The face buttons are a lot more close to each other than it should be. Don't expect to pull out fancy combos in fighting games with this controller.
The L2-R2 are a big downside. Unlike most other ones, they aren't properly designed, and you will have issues with the grip overall.
In general, don't go for it, unless you have small palms, so it's ideal for people from 10 to 15, or for girls.
I guess I would had called it a bad investment if my girlfriend didn't like it and chose to use it instead.

>The L2-R2 are a big downside. Unlike most other ones, they aren't properly designed
Apparently some controller designers seriously believe that people use their middle fingers exclusively for L2 and R2 I've run into pads that exhibit this design myself. It has six face buttons though so do you really need four shoulder buttons?
>>3679446
OP here. Well, there are some controllers with L2-R2 and six face buttons, like hammerhead, which are properly aligned and placed. And I'd say it is better to at least have the option to remap the buttons as you like, for example I know a few people who prefer six face buttons for fightings, and L2/R2 for everything else.
Played parasite eves(both), dino crisis(both), and its boring crap, sleeping level ultimate.
I'm looking not-rpg games of Fear Effect 1/2, Abe's odyssee/exodus like quality. Or at least gameplay shouldn't be boring. Any suggestions anons?
that submarine game by the metal slug guys
>>3679361
>Fear Effect 1/2
>quality
I thought these games were hot garbage when I played them as a kid
certainly below the first PE and Dino Crisis
Continuation:
Games i liked:
MGS(duh), Syphon filter, Fear Effect, Abes odysse/exodus, Medievil, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the dragoon1-2
Average/nice:
Resident evils, Countdown Vampires, Croc, Gex, Spyro 3, Lucky Luke, Silent Hill, Space Police
Shit/meh:
Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, Tomb Raider 3, KKND, Crow:City of Angels
Can't dish out 40 h of gameplay into another JRPG, so they are not included here. Any help anons? Would jump to PS2 but too weak of PC to emulate.

knowing exactly what makes it Acceptable is very important
Probably if it just needs some TLC.
When I sell occasionally I am honest about the condition and tend to list stuff as acceptable only because of perfectionists who will bitch about one ding on a game that's likely older than they are.
>Peel my eyes away from that subjective assessment made by the seller.
>Look at the picture beside it, thoroughly analyzing it to determine if it meets my own standards.
>If the picture isn't good enough for me to make an educated judgement, kindly ask the seller for a better one.
>Take a look at the description to see if there is more information on wear that might not be visible in a picture.
