Strangely there aren't a lot of games for UY, considering how popular it was in Japan.
Other than the visual novel-type games on Sega CD; PCE and PC-98, the only action game is on famicom and is called Lum no wedding ring, by Jaleco.
It's a simple arcade-style platformer with light shooting elements. You start on infant school as a young Lum, and make your way up to elementary, middle, high school, etc. Lum's sprite changes as she grow up, and she also changes her clothing, depending on the power ups you get, Lum's clothes will be different. You go around jumping over pits, shooting electric shots to little octopuses and other weird enemies, and looking for switches to activate the stairs that let you go up.
Power ups also include Ten (he will accompany Lum shooting fireballs to enemies) and Rei in his tiger-cow form (it's basically a berserk mode where you can wreck any enemy around, useful for making lots of points). There's also bonus stages you can find hidden around.
All the levels have similar layouts where you need to get to the roof of the building and jump onto Lum's UFO, and you must do it quickly because for some reason there's fire coming from below.
It's nothing special, but it's the only action game based on Urusei Yatsura, and it's not bad either, just very simple. It's actually based on another Jaleco game for arcades called Momoko 120%, with the same gameplay. I hear Momoko was actually intended to be a UY game, but Jaleco didn't get the license until later.

I blame Nintendo for popularizing a joypad you have to hold with both hands all the time

that took me a minute

Great choice. I think it was made when Nakajima Atsuko (the character designer for the animation, not original artist/writer of the comic) had peaked in her style (she later went with too bold of lines in later character design work).

I think Lum was before the time of most here. So I expect a lot of "this is what the dinosaurs fapped to?!" ... sadly, I did not see the appeal either.
>>3688352
Just want to point out this comment ... cus it's good.
>>3688352
guess you wanted to hold your joystick at the same time...

Does Cham Cham from Samurai Shodown count?
>>3685886
Huh.
I had no idea UY even had games.
>>3689852
it'd be weird for a popular anime series to not have a video game.
With movies, maybe, but TV series that get popular (especially UY which aired for a long time) always get games.
UY doesn't have enough games though, and that's weird.

The Outlanders manga was so much better than Urusei Yatsura. It's basically a serious version of it that goes full on space opera, instead of an earth-bound sitcom.
and the fucking ending man.
