You know I'm right.
Hail to the king baby.

Congrats bro.
I did not know this game exist. How funny would it be to sell a SNES cartridge and when the person turns it on it's that version?
Been looking at videos and it's surprisingly loyal to the level design of DKC2, though. Gb's version of the music is no bad work either, considering what they could work with. Not a bad conversion at all.
The game is so good. And I fucking love the rendition of Disco Train in DKL2, sounds fucking awesome
What do you guys think of the Valis series?
No not the Visual Novel where they all get horribly raped.
Better games than Rondo of Blood in my opinion.
The PCE CD version of 3 is more challenging than the megadrive port though. Enemies are more random and there are more stages.
>>3682097
Great soundtracks on the PCD-CD versions.
Will they ever be topped?
>>3682068
dynamite headdy sequel fucking when???
>>3682068
No, I don't think they will ever be topped as most overrated developer.
More than a game, an experience.
Are the breath of fire games connected? I've heard some talk that suggests they might be, but nothing is confirmed.
If this was the case wouldn't BoF 4 be one of the first entries in the timeline and BoF 3 be one of the last? Because in BoF 4 the woren race is not that uncommon, but Rei is stated to be one of the last of his kind in BoF 3.
2 also had worens, but 4 had tribes of them.
So you played the games?
There is no official timeline, 4 could be part of the BoF 1-2-3 timeline, but the connection would be awkward, and it would require some retcons.
I personally don't like the idea of BoF 4 happening in the same BoF 1-2-3 world.
>>3681993
Bof 1 and 2 are directly connected with some of the same characters (Bo, Karn, Bleu) making a return while also making implications that the bof1 Ryu and the bof1 Nina ended up together. The timeline isn't absolute but I believe that bof2 took place several centuries after bof1.
I haven't played enough bof3 or 4 to make a call on either of those.
You meet the Nina from BoF1 in BoF 2 and she asks if you forgive her for falling in love with a man of another race.
This started like over a year ago but I never hear anybody talk about it.
What you think about Gamestop having a warehouse or two full of retro games and accessories that they sell online?
What do think about Gamestop then trashing all of their retro stuff once they get tired of holding onto them because nobody's going to buy that shit if they don't know what condition the items are in?
>>3681961
I sure do wonder what Gamestop's going to do with all of their Dreamcast arcade game ports if nobody buys them.
>>3681961
We already talked about this when it was first announced. Gamestop sucks. There's not much else to say.
Can I walk into a GameStop and buy SNES or NES games again? If not, then I don't give a shit.
How come Sega Genesis games are so much cheaper than Super Nintendo stuff?
>>3681878
Jewish conspiracy really.
Nintendo has dominated pop culture for the past 20 years in a way that Sega hasn't.
In other words: Smash Bros.
>>3681878
SNES has more higher quality games. Pretty much all the good Genesis games are $30+ it's just that they don't have near as many as the SNES. Smash Bros. has nothing to do with this.
>Slap Happy Rhythm Busters
>after all these years, techno still pumps me up
>mechanics are really simple and you can learn a character's comobs and setups in as quickly as 5 minutes in practice mode
>graphics are so fucking amazing it's literally candy to my eyes
>characters are really varied they stand out from each other
Style over substance crap no one plays competitively. Git gud.
>>3681708
this game looks dope, i think i will give it a try
>>3681709
I'll bet you're a lot of fun at tournaments
I asked this question in /v/, but didn't get very many answers. Any oldfags here that imported games in the old days? How did you get your hands on imports without the internet? I'm 28, so I didn't really have interest in importing Japanese games as a little kid.
Ads in the back of EGM and GamePro
>>3681669
Did they have anything at Funcoland, or was it all just local?
Local stores carried them. Also the back of magazines tend to have a lot of ads of said local stores with imports. Japanese friends. Then around 97 for me, lots of online stores were available.
Let's talk about this cool looking game. To those who have it, how is it?Download link where/when? I've searched for it using every combination of words imaginable, but it's nowhere to be found.

Good reminder anon, I remember hearing about this game some time ago...
I was waiting a rom to play it but somehow I forgot, looks pretty dope, maybe some good soul eventually will appear and post a rom.
Cool graphics, gameplay doesn't look like anything special though.

Hello /vr/. I'm going on like a 8+ hour bus ride and just wondering which of these two RPGs should I play while on said bus ride.
I'm just about to finish FF5's post game content on GBA, and I finished Chrono Trigger before that. Now I'm at a crossroad at what to play next.
I'll eventually play both, but which should I play first?
Both are pretty good games to be fair, mang.
Cross has a bit more replay value with the multiple paths, characters you can recruit, endings and the new game plus with fast forward capability.

Help me vros. Im going for a Saturn, thats ok.
At first I didn't gave a fuck about differences between models until I had both in my hands (I work in a retro console and other electronics workshop as apprentice)
I did prefer the first controller, I dont like the second one (no discussion about it, its my personal view, please go to the point.)
But I found that the V1 controller must be with the V1 console so, It started driving me craze (I can be a total moron)
Okay, besides thos silly thougts about going home with a new console, please, gime me advice.
Lets get serious, I have heard that V1 have more quality in general, but the V2 have a more advanced CD drive.
My boss will modify mine for a 60Hz and a PseudoSaturn out, so I dont need talk about region or shit.
Just get to the point. V1 vs V2 and why.
I dont really give a fuck about what's the oine what I want, but would listen some experiencied about what I'm about.
PD: Second question.. The Mega Drive II RGB cable is compatible with this one?
Thanks!
>he fell for the Saturn meme
Hey you know what go right ahead waste your money
dont waste your time. saturn has gotten stupid expensive. unless you plan on mod chipping its not worth it
>>3681180
did you not see him mention PseudoSaturn? You play backups with that.
I was playing pic related and about halfway I was done. I love the music, the designs, the characters, the exploration, but I can't stand random battles anymore.
I know it's a long shot, but isnt there any romhack that adds an option to temporarily disable random battles like the ugly modern ports of later FF have? Or an emulator where I can switch on and off a no battles gameshark with a hotkey?
If it's possibly, damn, I'd play every major jrpg I've skipped.
>>3680980
Turning on/off gameshark codes has been a feature forever.
>>3680986
With a hotkey? Which emulator(s)?
Oh I tried doing it in Retroarch (menu I can access from the joystick at least) but the cheats never worked for me in any gba core
It's possible, technically there's a threat value that increases with every step you take, all you'd need to do is find that variable with ram searches and freeze it with a gameshark code.
cool manual thread?
>>3680945
Yar's Revenge had a cool manual for much the same reason. Actually come to think of it the comic was technically separate, but still.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and its "suggested reading" appendix (among other thinks)

Pico looked so weird in this
