I only travel to avoid western women
I wish I could come home:(
>>
Traveling to Thailand seriously changed my mind.
I stopped being suicidal, stopped dating women and realized that true love can be only found with ladyboys.

Once I cut off all dating and relationships with women, I became much more relaxed person.
>>
A lot of guys I know take a year out to travel the well beaten path of SEA and Australia then come home and pick up exactly where they left off, doing the same old shit.

So no - I wouldn't say travel deeply changes most people.

I'm interested in Vietnam. I'm wondering if I could get some info on any of the following:

>living conditions as an expat that wants to live cheaply and simply
>How long would $10,000 dollars last me there?
>average wifi connection (speed, reliability)
>power outages (do they happen a lot)
>heat and humidity
>best city to live in (HCMC, Hanoi, Da Nang, or other)
>best area to live in HCMC near western restaurants and amenities (District 1, etc)
>etc

Thanks

$10k

Depending on how you want to live, how much moving around you want to do etc, $10k can comfortably give you a year.

I'm going to Tenerife for a week in January to celebrate a family birthday.

I'm wondering, is there anything there worth seeing or doing except for just chilling at the beach/hotel?

I also wanna try surfing. Would that be possible? How would I go about doing that?

Any info and advice is appreciated!

I speak spanish at about a 3 year old level, but I decided Im going to make my first trip to Spanish People In Custody land....

Colombia seems to have the best looking women, and Im going to sign up for a mail order bride service in that area.

How can I avoid getting robbed, drugged, or kidnapped? Is this a real concern (especially because i'm meeting attractive strange women)?

I know there are some NO GO areas in the forest, should I just pick a safer country where I can still find attractive women or is Colombia worth the risk (venezuela sounds like I will get shot walking off the plane).

It's not fair!
Is facesitting a common practice in Colombia?
>>
So... you wanna go to Columbia to meet women? Aren't there any women in your city..?
>>
yah, but im average at best and tinder sucks if your average/ugly looking male

colombian girls just want their gtfo green card, and im cool with that...

Not like im going to marry them...

Snow Tourism?

I'm a Florida boy, seen a bit of snow here and there at the top of mountains, but because I usually do my traveling my car, I've had to avoid snow for practical reasons.

I want to see snow covered landscapes and towns. What do you suggest?

Colorado is beautiful in fall, I imagine winter is crazy as well.

I've always wanted to see Alaska. What time of year would be best? I hear the coldest months are too dark and depressing.

Any experience with Iceland? Worth the extra money?

These are just a few places I've heard suggested from friends. Where and when do you guys suggest?

Could always go to rural Canada. Even somewhere like Montreal is usually covered in a few feet of snow come February. Avoid Toronto, it gets no snow for some reason, it's just cold and windy.
>>
>>1195737
It is beautiful or is that just a stereotypical snowy place? Also, isn't snow in a major city like Montreal gonna be dirty as hell?

Also, what's the best logistics to visit snow?

I found taking the Hurtigruten up the coast of Norway in February worked well to see snow. Bergen was rainy, but Trondheim and north was definitely snowy. The prices are relatively low in February, and in the few clear nights you might see the Aurora Borealis.

Day 1
>get Airbnb for Tokyo
>room doesn't have AC although the listing says it does
>6° at night
>can't message host because he is not verified on Airbnb (yet he is a superhost with tons of fake reviews I guess)
>call host, doesn't pick up
>call Airbnb, host picks up, tells them he will contact us
>he doesn't
Day 2
>call host, doesn't pick up again
>call Airbnb again, they can't reach host either
>we tell Airbnb we want our money back
>they cancel our order (doesn't look like we get refunded yet)
One hour later
>host messages us why we cancelled
>explain the whole thing
>he doesn't respond

It doesn't look like Airbnb is getting back to us at this point but I payed via Paypal, do you think they will figure out some solution? The host is clearly in the wrong here and Airbnb granted us a $150 hotel stay which is nice but that's the last thing we've heard from them.

Any experience with stuff like this?
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
You paid directly to the host by paypal? You should pay only to airbnb, otherwise it's a violation of the terms.
>>
>Insta-book a place in Cairo
>Host says it's not available
>Tell him to cancel me
>Doesn't respond
>Insist on him cancelling me and saying stuff like "Im going to get my bank involved"
>Refunded.jpg

I got my money back and $60 AirBNB credit to use in the future.
Used it on a place that I was scraping the ceiling with my head. I'm 6'2" and that's not optimal.

They e-mailed me 2 times after that to make sure everything was alright. Pleasantly surprised to be honest. You got your money back and enough credit, right? What more do you want to hear from them?
>>
>>1195679
Hopefully you enjoy the rest of your trip. Unfortunately, you may have made a big mistake by paying outside of Airbnb so hopefully you get your money back.

Hello everyone. I want to go somewhere in Europe with my girlfriend for a short break (4 daysish) i live in the UK but I'm pretty ignorant about most of continental Europe. Could I have some suggestions? Only requirements: not very expensive (I'm a student) and somewhere not completely typical: Paris, Barcelona etc.

>>
>>1195660
Sarajevo, Riga or Brasov would be my recommendations
>>
I would go for either Eastern Europe (Riga like the other anon said is very nice but not much to do. Budapest, or Krakow are otherwise very nice cities and less 'typical' than Prague)
or to the South (Southern Spain, Portugal, Croatia) it's very nice in this season since there's few tourists compared with the summer and the weather is nicer than in the UK.
>>
How about Bratislava or Budapest? These cities are very affordable and not completely typical.

Cool shops you have found.
I was in Berlin found this mad shop called M99. It's a left wing revolutionary shop. Man who runs it is mad as a hatter. Anyone else no this shop?

Anyone else found crazy shops or cool outlets whilst out and about?

when I was a kid my family went to costa rica

we went to arenal volcano, and close by in the middle of nowhere was a store neptune's hammocks

it was a hammock/head shop, owner was a black guy with a fro who stunk of weed (I didn't know it was weed until I was older, but I couldn't forget the smell) and the reddest eyes I've ever seen, and he had a hot light skinned assistant wearing a tube top and corn rows

think the hammock I bought is still in my parent's basement

found a pic online of it, glad he's still living the dream

I'm planning on driving from California to Minnesota in about a month. What things to I need to prepare for? I know very little in the ways of traveling. To give you an example, I didn't know I was going to need a passport to get across borders, or that I needed an undercoat for my car in the snow. Anything You can tell me that would be helpful is greatly appreciated.

You don't need a passport to travel from California to Minnesota.

Also an undercoat is recommended but you don't need one if you get your car washed every 10 days or so. (undercoat is probably less expensive depending on how long you're staying in Minnesota). How long do you plan to spend?

I'm actually planning on moving there. I have a buddy who's living up there right now. We're gonna find a house and move in together.

Always good to check your oil level and tire pressure beforehand. If you feel yourself starting to get tired, pull over and take a nap. Snacks, music/podcasts, and rolling down the windows helps too.

Also good to know how to change a tire, and to have a pair of jumper cables in the trunk.

Just some random tips. Anything in particular you're concerned about?

Can I survive as a solo traveler on only English?

How does it compare to Georgia?

Is going to Nagorno-Karabakh worth it?
7 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
How is Georgia for non-Russian nor Georgian speaker?
>>
both countries are really cheap if your from a developed country and off the beaten path for westerners that locals are friendly, even if most don't know much english

nagorno-karabakh is a meme, you can get a taxi and pay a fee to transit there, but unless you want to meet a specific local or site there's nothing there that's different from the rest of the country, go if your the kind of person who brags about how many stamps are in your passport

georgia has a more developed tourist industry and is normally considered nicer by people without a connection to ether country, there's a lot more tourists because of soviet development and they get along with their neighbors better

good thing about armenia is because so much of their tourism is based on the diaspora in america, english is a bit more common, even though young people in both countries know a bit

with their generous no visa policy and cheap cost of living I could see Georgia becoming the next place young travelers go to to bum around for a few months

Need suggestions on cheap holiday destinations; preferably under £700 including flight.

Black londoner, travelling with brother and sister. Any destination within the budget preferred and any type of holiday as long as its relatively entertaining.

Budapest, Belgrade, Prague, Krakow.
Any of those or all of them depending on your trip length.

Out of those, imo Budapest has the most to offer with a cheap price tag. Nightlife is great, nice architecture, good hostels and cheap food.
>>

Go to fucking Birmingham. That's not how this works.

Traveling for the first time in my life on my own from Europe

Along with money for a planeticket, what else will I need money for if I were traveling by plane?

I'm specifically going to New York (for just a week), how much money will I need there at the airport, and for what exactly?

>>
20% tip for pretty much everything (security, passport control, escalator use etc.)

You dont need any money at an airport if you have your ticket already
Maybe a $20-30 cab into manhattan and then a $30 unlimited metro card

Sup friends, Ameriburger travelling to Europe this March for the first time, and I was wondering what kind of shots/vaccines I'll need, if any. I've got the usual shit like MMR and TdaP and whatnot, but is there anything else in particular I should know about? Google is only giving me vague answers.

The countries I'm planning on visiting are the UK, Ireland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City, Austria, Greece, and Spain.

Other countries aren't out of the question, but that's the itinerary for now.
