>don't feed the trolls edition
Last one went up in flames before 404. Let's do better this time.
>What is Frontier?
Frontier is a non-rotating format using the concept behind modern, with a more recent start-from date. Currently, you could liken it to a pseudo-extended. All sets M15 and forward are legal, meaning;
>M15
>Khans of Tarkir
>Fate Reforged
>Dragons of Tarkir
>Magic Origins
>Battle for Zendikar
>Oath of the Gatewatch
>Shadows over Innistrad
>Eldritch Moon
>and recently, Kaladesh
>Why should I care?
There are lots of reasons why you might enjoy this format! Most popular are
>novelty
>cheaper than modern, legacy, or edh
>more powerful than standard
>novelty
>unsolved, thus ripe for brewan
>novelty
>treasure cruise & dtt
>novelty
>BANNED LIST
Currently none! Discuss; what do you think will be first banned, and why?

First for shitty meme format for fucking retards that will literally buy garbage cards because of it.
3 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
2 Torrential Gearhulk
2 Anguished Unmaking
1 Anticipate
4 Blessed Alliance
1 Clash of Wills
2 Dig Through Time
2 Grasp of Darkness
1 Negate
2 Ojutai's Command
3 Scatter to the Winds
2 Ultimate Price
1 On Nixilis, Reignited
2 Sorin, Grim Nemesis
4 Fumigate
2 Transgress the Mind
1 Treasure Cruise
LANDS LANDS LANDS (4 Shambling Vent)
SB:
3 Tormod's Crypt
2 Clash of Wills
2 Dispel
2 Negate
2 Fragmentize
2 Languish
1 Startled Awake
Very unfocused esper control brew. Just testing to see what I like. Negate and Dispel have over performed for me; scatter has been meh. Jace is bleh and Gearhulk and DTT probably need to go to 4 each. Fumigate not as relevant if you're not in aggro meta.
CoCo gotta go
I'm trying to run a middle-ages noblebright low-magic European setting. Does it exist? Do I have to make it? where my teutonic kniggas at
>>49865926
Pendragon is this, but the stuff is steeped pretty deeply in the Arthurian Legend stuff system wise but I'd still take a look, newer stuff in particular is pretty steller.
>>49865926
NONE MORE WORTHY! DEUS VULT!
>>49865926
Symbaroum is pretty kickass and almost exactly this.
>commits what amounts to a petty genocide
>is basically insane now
>people IN THESE THREADS don't think she's a villain
I'm honestly confused. You'd think a bunch of sexists would jump in jubilation at a woman being an antagonist
>>49874537
"Antagonist" isn't a bad thing, anon. It's a role.
Why are old walkers so wasted as characters? Karn has ceased to exist, sorin is a statue, Nahiri is just stupid and now also insane and Ugin was such a nonfactor it makes khans of tarkir turning into dragon land even more insulting.
>>49874537
The fuck are you talking about? Is this bait? I don't even know who that character is, and I read THESE THREADS alot. Who the fuck even cares?
Oh, I get what's going on here. Shitposting. Definitely Shitposting.

Bannerets are underpowered edition.
What social class do your characters come from, usually? How does your DM handle classes? Can peasants read and write in your game?
What's the difference between an infernal warlock and a cleric of asmodeus?
>>49874059
One praises him. The other strikes a deal, or some bullshit about learning about him gives you power.
It reminds of asking if you like your boss or not. You are allowed and not allowed to, but he's your boss.
>>49874059
Thematically or mechanically?
The cleric is more of a trusted agent of usual hierarchy, while the warlock is more of a special-projects R&D prototype.
What's a good alternative name for a language spoken by many races besides "Common"?
Normal
>>49860958
Extremely Common.
>>49860958
Spanish.
There is no reason to not use a sword if you're an adventurer
>b-but it requires a lot of training :(
bullshit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgq1wiPKzzI
there is a reason why post 14th century everyone used a sword as his sidearm and not meme shit like axes
I don't care where you came from, /k/ or /his/, but you have to go back.
Battle axes and maces and such were still useful for penetrating armor.
Also spears would be enormously useful as well.
Also the reason it was common by then is because of improved techniques for making steel. In a D&D world you can't assume that it will be set in a 14th century equivalent. In a more dark ages world or even just a more borderland/post apocalyptic world axes, clubs and such would be very common.

Whats a good name for a race of machines that facilitates the peaceful coexistence of spacefaring races? Protecting developing worlds from external influence until they are able to reach space under their own power, serving as a neutral military peacekeeping fleet to curb open spacewar, letting less developed races use their FTL-Gate system to get around and forming the hub of galactic trade. Old enough that even the oldest organic civilization currently around doesn't know who built them.
Right now the best I have is the 'Intercessors', but I feel like I can do better.

Some anon said they were very good at worldbuilding; given their subject matter, I can believe it.
>historical threads on /tg/ & "inspiration" threads
History threads shunt a bunch of /tg/ targeted inspiration directly into your face. Character art threads, location art threads, and anything else-art threads are also pretty good. A picture paints a thousand words &c.

Depends, do they communicate? If so, they have their own name for themselves and you should use that. Calling them anything else would be as silly as other races calling humans The Murderers or something, especially so when we keep saying "No no, it's 'Human'".
Good morning and welcome back to Ask A Judge!
>>49857196
How exact do you have to be with lost legacy to be close enough? I want to exile something in my opponent's grveyard but he won't let me look to get the exact name.
>>49857292
graveyard is a free/public information. Call a judge if he won't let you look at the content of his graveyard.
>>49857292
You just need to uniquely identify it. For example, "That 6/6 green mythic Giant that fetches lands when it ETB and attacks" is probably enough to identify Primeval Titan.
That said, your opponent doesn't have the option to not let you look. The graveyard is a public zone, and all players are allowed to see the cards in all graveyards at all times. If your opponent won't let you look at their graveyard, and won't show you the contents, call a Judge.
So what if Malcador got his way and half of the Primarchs were women. In that case which Primarchs should have been women?
Sanguinius and Fulgrim are the two obvious choices. I also say Curze, Russ, Corax, and Logar. I'm not sure who else though. Curze feels like a good choice, Russ can either combine Valkyries and werewolves or just stick with a werewolf theme, Corax can work as a woman, and Logar can have the whole religious mother theme.
Alpharius and Omegon being a boy and girl could be interesting but at the same time I feel that it takes away from their thing. I suppose they could be really androgynous and look like each other.
Khan, Guilliman, Horus, Perturabo and Dorn should stay male. Khan and Guilliman since they're based on Genghis Khan and Caesar, Horus for the favored son thing, and Perturabo and Dorn work as men. On the other hand Perturabo could work as a woman depending on your interpretation of his character.
>>49855086
>Pertuabo could work as a woman depending on your interpretation of bis character
A bitch?
Vulkan's a pretty obvious choice to be a woman as well, because sitcoms prove that every cast is better when it includes a sassy black woman.
