This is NOT /tesg/ minus waifus, so behave properly.
No waifus or husbandos except for Tarhiel.
Keep the squabbling to a minimum.

>Surprisingly, Tarhiel is actually a merchant, and would also provide smithing services. Unfortunately, there is no way to take advantage of these services as you can't converse with him. And even if you got past that (for example by stripping all your equipment off, which would replace his dialogue with "Cover yourself! Are you mad? Have you no decency?") he has nothing to sell, and no gold with which to buy things.
--Save Tarhiel.
--Only repair service anywhere near Seyda Neen.
--Have to be naked to talk to him.

Planning a long trip with TL 4 gear on a boat. I like Low Tech, but..
What is going on with the containers and storage table?
A 20 gallon barrel has a capacity/weight ratio of 1.8 and a 40 gallon barrel has a ratio of 1.25, a 80 gallon has 1.6 and a 120 gallon has 1.4
It would bug me less if there was a logic or reason to it, but it seems utterly random.
On the bright side, a 182 pound waterproof wooden barrel filled with water is portable by a couple people and holds about enough fresh water for 4 people for 20 days.
How would you do a Soulsborne campaign, leaning more on Bloodborne? What would you do when someone dies?
What system would you use?
To me the system needs to:
>NEEDS a system that isn't swingy or too dependent on luck. So either 3d6, dice pool or dice keep.
>be lethal
>be fast to play
>maybe have a stamina-like system?
>have weapon reach rules
>have magic
>have monsters, maybe special monster rules
>have granular enough equipment you can customize your character in weapons and armor.
>>49762274
Didn't /tg/ make a homebrew for Bloodborne a while back?
>>49762309
I remember some 13 page ultra rules-lite RPG to do dark souls if that's what you mean
I know of the one that >>49762368 is talking about, its even lighter on rules than its size would suggest.
I also played quite a few campaigns in a friend's homebrew called Four Kingdoms that was very much based around the idea. It probably satisfied everything you've cited save for 'fast to play' as you needed to work out some very complicated derived stats every time you made any alterations to your character, but in theory once you were in a fight rolling dice it proceeds as fast as you can make decisions (One of those systems where there is no such thing as a 'basic attack', but there's no rolled damage, and rolled defenses are rare, its all determined beforehand by the interactions of static defenses and attack, you only roll to hit which is modified by static offense and defenses).
Was pretty nuts. And you basically die if you get shanked unless you build into it.
Core system was Stat + Success, and Yes/no binary, depending on the roll, where the successes were each 4+ on 4d6, and the Yes/no was a fairly specific ladder of different roll thresholds based on what your modifier to succeed was (IE -1, +1 etc). The latter was used for hit rolls and meant that it was largely impossible to totally eliminate someone's chance to hit you unless you do nothing but defend (Stance declaration was mandatory as well)
Eldar need more screen time

Origins of the Imperium is fluffed out with the exception of a couple of Primarchs.
Now we need to build up the SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE Elves.
We have the general outlines of a few craftworlds but little else. We need more heroes besides Eldrad.
We also need some detail about the faiths of the Imperium.
We could also use a drawfag.
>>49707496
The Dark Carnival - Almost certainly not it's name in the High Speech of the eldar people. It is an everlasting party that dates back as far as Imperial records can show and if the rumors of the eldar are to be believed may have started in the old eldar empire.
In the old days it travelled from world to world via the webway and was the single greatest gathering of The Great Harlequin's followers in the galaxy. Now it travels across imperial worlds and the craftworlds lending weight to the Bail-Tan opinion that it is an Eldar Imperium and just coincidentally has a lot of humans living in it.
The Carnival is seen as a mixed blessing by most worlds. On the one hand it brings an up turn in business and tourism but on the other hand it brings with a lot of ninja clowns and hangers on.
Where does the drink and the music come from? Nobody but the clowns know and they claim that it is provided by their god.
The Carnival has only ever visited Old Earth once in early M33 the Adeptus Arbiters decided to retroactively issue every xeno involved with a temporary permit. It was either that or try and arrest them for trespass with Old Earth being considered human holy ground.
Only once has an outright attack on the Carnival been committed and recorded and that was under the orders of Goge Vandire after he went off the deep end. Casualties were great and disturbingly one sided.
The Carnival goes where it wants, when it wants and respects no authority but their strange god. It is not outright malicious but should be considered dangerous if approached without caution. This does not stop revelry seekers, human and xeno alike, joining in the festivities. Harlequins join and leave the party as they see fit but the Carnival endures.
What about a group of Humans and Eldar that have begun living together.
Maybe Eldar that broke off and want to teach and tutor Humans to become a better species, telling them of the advantages of living in a society like the Eldar have. Maybe followers of Isha.
The humans in return, get to live on Eldar maiden worlds, get to wear really cool robes, and be part of an egalitarian meritocracy, Add in some Eldar science and Medicine, and I could easily see some humans going along with this. (especially if some of the Eldar doing this are hippies believing in free love.)
Not have it be a permanent thing, but an ongoing project that has already grown fruit. Well trained and drilled human soldiers to match any other of their kind, led by experienced Eldar officers, built around a core of Aspect Warriors.
But if a Human is really good at his/her job, then he can actually get into a position where he commands and leads Eldar into battle.
Maybe Eldar teaching human Psykers how to control their powers actually works?
>>49708055
Colchis this time round isn't ruled by Chaos' Prison Bitch Lorgar.
This time when the eldar refugee fleet came to them they were welcomed with open (but slightly suspicious) arms.
Colchis was at pre-black powder levels of technology. They had ben nuked to the stone age during the Men of Iron going Full Skynet and it had taken the Age of Strife to get that high again. An effort not helped by the sporadic Chaos uprisings.
Along come desperate elves. Their desperation turns to tears of joy as the people welcome them. The people are repaid by the eldar teaching them how to build a global and peaceful civilization.
By the time the Imperium encounters them they look like some sort of craftworld society crossed with a really calm and peaceful Holy Roman Empire. Shit load of nation states all independent with the Space Pope acting as an independent settler of international disputes. despite it being a medieval shit hole less than two centuries prior the Imperial forces were greated by elegant system defence ships. No warp drive, but only because they never felt the need to go anywhere. The language they were greeted in seemed to be some sort of Old Earth descendant language strangely hybridized with craftworlder High Speech. They were later to learn that this was the global language of legal documents and trade, a practice mirrored in the Imperium with High Gothic.
The capital had a webway gate in the centre of it but they were inconveniently out of the way and so trade was minimal with other eldar.
The Imperials expected to see eldar nobility lording it over primitive human plebs. There was no eldar in any position of rulership above the level of provincial assistant administrator or equivalent title. The eldar didn't want to rule, they just wanted a place to settle
Colchis was brought into the Imperim as a unique and civilized world reminiscent of an idealized version of some pre-fall eldar haven, albeit with only 8% of the global population being eldar
Storythread returns. Again. Why? Who knows. But it's happening. So deal with it.
If you have /tg/ related stories to post, post them here, and hopefully some kind anon will give you feedback (or at least acknowledge that someone did actually read it, which let's face it is what writefags really want).
If you don't have a story ready then I and other anons will be posting pictures throughout the thread for you to test your writing skills on. This is, more or less, a world-building and character-building exercise: two vital skills for playing roleplaying games. If you don't have any pics to post, you could try posting an idea for a setting or a character, and maybe someone will be willing to write a story using it. It's also an exercise in writing though, where writefags can try out their material and gain inspiration, so if you just want to talk about world-building save it for the world-building threads.
Remember that writefags love to have feedback on their work. Writing takes a long time, especially stories that go over several posts, and it can be really depressing when no one even seems to read it (and the writer won't know you read it unless you leave a comment).
And since writing takes a long time remember to keep the thread bumped. Pics are good, feedback is better.

FAQ:
>What the fuck is this?
Somewhat a campaign of crack-infused free-form roleplay in the grim darkness of the far future.
>When do you guys make these threads?
Usually mondays at 4PM GMT, but they sometimes extend to Tuesdays if we got caught in the middle of something when the thread died and it was too late to make another one the same day.
>Can I join in?
Sure, just think of a character and have fun, you can find most info in 1d4chan albeit it's ussually a little bit out of date in comparison to where the threads are.
>Is there any requirement in character creation.
Not really, we've had Xeno infiltrators, Chaos infiltrators, Villains, Heroes, Normal Guardsmen, Crazed Guardsmen, Assassins, Psykers, Space Marines, Inquisitors, Squats... just think whathever and join the fun.
>Is it allowed to have more than a single character?
Yes as long as you don't use it to powerplay.
>So how you guys do the playan'?
We tend to use spoilers for OOC chat, but nothing is set in stone.
We tend to use greentexts for describing a character's actions, but again nothing is set in stone.
Use d20s for combat checks and d100s for other things you want to roll, higher Is better.
It's important to know that the regiment is now in the employ of a radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, with influence from an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and under the watch of an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor. Yes we've been through a lot of shit.

>He would then do the same for the other forty-three Scions who's bodies they had managed to recover and bring to the morgue.
A bullet to show the Valkyrie who carries you to the Emperor that you had indeed died fighting in his name... You will be missed Jean...

This is one of my favorite shows actually. It's a little shaky at first, and there are one or two major animation glitches, (if you see a woman running along a rooftop, just close your eyes for a bit, trust me) but otherwise it's pretty great. The monsters are interesting, the weapons are insane, the characters are interesting and deeper than you might expect, and the action scenes are some of the best I've ever seen. Without going into spoilers, the third volume is by far the best, and the fourth just started up yesterday. So, I'd highly recommend giving it a try.

When you stop behaving like one
Frustratingly, it is a matter of degree. Know the degree of difference.
What's the best way (in your opinion) to balance various arms and armour in a fantasy RPG? I want Light, Medium, and Heavy armour to either provide different but equivalent benefits/drawbacks, or for heavier armour to provide greater benefits at a meaningful cost. I don't want to force players to choose the heaviest, most protective plate mail whenever possible.
Hard Mode: There's no such thing as armour proficiency penalties or requirements. Anyone can wear any kind of armour freely.
Nightmare Mode: You can't make reduced movement speed or encumbrance the drawback of heavier armour.
>>49920814
Most realistic drawbacks are cost and maintenance. A mage may have to study an hour every day, a fighter would need to spend at least that long polishing and oiling his armor every day. And the fact that a good suit of plate costs a small fortune.
>>49920881
Alright then. If better armour has a higher price and maintenance requirement, doesn't it still provide higher benefits in combat? You'd effectively be purchasing better combat statistics with currency. If characters get rich enough, would they not all acquire the heaviest, most protective armour possible if they plan on adventuring? It seems like it may not actually resolve the problem wherein people just pick the gear with the best stats.
>>49921039
Do you want game balance? Then yeah, you have to do stuff like speed and encumbrance penalties. Otherwise the only other realistic way to "balance" it is to make it expensive. Plate armor is just flat out better than just about anything else.

Discussion of the Towergirls CYOA, RPG, Setting, or Video Games welcome here!
Everyone welcome.
FAQ:
Q - What is Towergirls?
A /tg/ creation. Read more here.
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Tower_Girls
Q - How do I play?
A - It's a CYOA, there are no established mechanics for the rescue. All the pages to the game are in the imgur album linked in resources.
Q - Why aren't/are we we working on; Fan Gen III/Knights/combat mechanics/etc.
A - We recognize that spreading out our efforts is part of what originally killed the project after Gats left. Accordingly, we're focusing on just one thing at a time and finishing them out.
Q - Hey, can we make a princess about X fetish?
A - It generally comes down to what people like. Propose the idea and see if others want it.
Q - Is there a map/unified setting?
A - Nope. Though proposals have been made, nothing concrete has been created.
Q - Can I post fanart/fanfiction here?
A - Go right on ahead. Just make sure it's within the global rules.

Which tier of the game do you like the most and why? Which tier do you actually play the most?
If you are GMing, remember...
1. To strongly consider giving out at least one free "tax feat," like Expertise and pre-errata Melee Training.
2. To use Monster Manual 3/Monster Vault/Monster Vault: Nentir Vale/Dark Sun Creature Catalog math. Avoid or manually update anything with Monster Manual 1 or 2 math.
3. That skill challenges have always been scene-framing devices for the GM, that players should never be overtly told that they are in a skill challenge, and that the Rules Compendium has the most up-to-date skill DCs and skill challenge rules.
If you would like assistance with character optimization, remember to tell us what the what the rest of the players are playing, what books are allowed, your starting level, the highest level you expect to reach, what free feats you receive, if anything is banned, whether or not themes are allowed, your starting equipment, and how much you dislike item-dependent builds.
If you wish to talk about settings, 4e's settings are Points of Light (the planes and the natural world's past empires are heavily detailed in various sourcebooks and magazines), 4e Forgotten Realms, 4e Eberron, 4e Dark Sun, and whatever setting you would like to bring into 4e.

>Which tier of the game do you like the most and why? Which tier do you actually play the most?
I've never played epic but I'm kinda tied between Heroic and Paragon. Once you get a paragon path the game feels surprisingly different; you get a bunch of options and modifications to your base features and it sometimes doesn't seem like you're even the same class anymore. Managing all that can be cumbersome, but it's glorious when you pull off some super synergistic action that sets off a cascade of like four other effects.
Heroic is more manageable and I guess as "down to earth" as 4e gets, but it always feels like you're building up to your full capacity. This all may be just because I'm addicted to hybrids though. There's always a sense of not quite being at max capabilities when playing hybrids.
My ideal game would start at a couple levels just before paragon and make a whole story arc out of the various pcs achieving whatever they needed to to get entry into their chosen paragon paths, and then follow them as far as the overarching plot goes. Some of the fluff for these pps are absolute gold and it disappoints me gms don't make much use of it.

Primarchs are now mostly(?) done, and it we got some stuff about the Battle of Terra bashed out too.
Faction relations are starting to be fleshed out too, and maybe even some light being shed on where (this version of) Emps himself comes from. And how kinky he gets with Isha.
Nids. How bad has it got, and how fucked are we? (Very)
SPEHSS EHLVS have had some fleshing out, but we've still only really got Taldeer vs Sreta vs The Galaxy (vs Eldrad?), and we need to bridge the gap between the former's politics and her screen time in Dark Crusade. Crone Worlders reeeeeeally need some work in the absence of CSMs as a major faction, too.
Still looking for heroes of the Imperium.
Still working on how faiths have evolved or disintegrated now that Emps is less of a massive fedora about it - particularly if Ol' Ollie Pius is ever going to get written.

His voice was about as quiet and as subtle as a shotgun blast over a microphone. “Not once, not twice, but three times now the Academy has had to withstand a plague of delinquency and subterfuge!” Gamagoori's voice boomed as he marched into the class, his One-Star goons lining up like soldiers. Kikue swallowed and hoped that she hadn't been found out.
“For a One-Star Uniform is still missing from the school's stockpile, and no such uniform has been requisitioned to anyone in this room!”
Oh no she was.
“While we have been unable to as of yet determine the uniform's location...”
Kikue let out a quiet sigh of relief, keeping as straight a poker face as possible.
“We have instead acquired a scanner that detects trace remnants of Life Fibers on anyone who recently wore a uniform!” Gamagoori said, holding up said device.
Shit. That was probably something from Inumuta or the REVOCS R&D team. Gamagoori remained in place while the other One-Star goons began to scan the other students diligently, with some of them shifting about or complaining. Kikue could feel the gap closing in and knowing she was finished. That other kid couldn't pull off an escape with a uniform on, and she had left hers at home!
‘Stupid, stupid, stupid! What am I supposed to do now...?!’ She thought to herself, her fists tightening as a pair of One-Stars began to approach her desk. She put her hands under the desk, ready to flip it over onto the ones approaching before Cally's crystal-clear voice broke the tension.
“Excuse me, Mr. Gamagoori!” Cally raised her hand and spoke up. “I believe I may know who your uniform thief is!”
