About 30 years ago I took some nude pics of my ex-girlfriend on Kodak 400 with a Canon AE-1. Because they were nude pics I never got them developed and the roll is still sitting in a drawer at room temp. Is the film garbage and still don't know where to take them to get developed?

Why cant other companies make cameras that werk just as well as canon cameras?

Agreed.

I attempted to make the switch from Canon to Sony when the new A series were released last year, but they are functionally awful cameras.

Canons are comfy as fuck. I do want to try an X Pro II, although only as a small carry camera, I could never switch over my main gear to it.

Use either photoshop and don't be a retard or indesign an don't be a retard. That's as hard as it will get.
>>
Adjusting measurements is something that design programs still don't do well, despite the fact that it's been in (2d) CAD programs for literally always.
Anyway in photoshop I would use guides, e.g. put one at 5%, 47.5%, 52.5% and 95% and you'll have evenly spaced horizontal borders.

So I've stared to get into photography in the last year and a half. I've mostly taken photos on my iPhone 6s Plus (see pic it's oc with single Instagram filter) but also have a starter camera I got for about $700ish. It's a Nikon D5500. I've taken almost 1500 pictures on it and gotten some ok shots. I went the the March on the DNC this past summer and got a lot there too. My main question is, how the actual hell do I shoot on manual mode? The booklet didn't help too much and online has had mixed results. If anyone has good, solid advice, or an online link, I'd be very greatful
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
why shoot manual? you won't be anymore pro.
>>
>>2951199
You are an amateur, you don't need manual mode yet.

The only advantage of shooting manual is to have the same results for every shot if you work in a series. I doubt that you or most other prosumer guys on /p/ do that. Look at most threads on here or any other place, people shoot single pictures and your camera is good enough to handle stuff itself in aperture control so you can focus on taking pictures or focus on not editing your sky green.

Learn stops and the exposure triangle.

Prioritise your photo taking, do you need motion blur/bokeh/deep dof/freeze motion/is fine detail important. Set the settings that give you what you want and fit the rest round them.

And serious suggestion, sell the nikon, get a sony. An EVF is MUCH easier to learn manual on as it gives a wysiwyg preview. Also, the smaller body will encourage you to take it more places.

Hi /p/. Around a month ago I enlisted your help on fixing a stuck lens on a Zorki-4. Now I need your advice again. The problem is that the camera's shutter does not close all the way most of the time, which causes the left side of the frame to burn completely. See the vid related. Has anyone here dealt with this problem? I'm not that mechanically gifted, should I rather just recock shutter immediately or cap the lens and live with it, or attempt to fix it? I found a guide on how to fix a lazy shutter on a Fed and apparently there are some screws which adjust spring tension and such, but I have no idea where those are on a Zorki and how to properly adjust them. Advice greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately all my available money is tied to other acquisitions at the moment, and it's not like I intend to make this my main system, just a little something to fool around for a breath of fresh air. I got it from a coursemate for free after all. Also I'm not really tempted to buy "new" Soviet gear because a new one might have this same problem after two rolls.

Never heard of her but judging from this photo she is everything wrong with modern photography. I hate her.
>>
>>2950314
Just looked at her site and IG, I don't understand why some photographers choose to only work with film.
Judging from her paid work for celebs and fashion shoots, she's successful and knows what she's doing.
I'd describe her documentary photography as well, good I guess.
What's more interesting is her fashion an portraiture work that shows a kind of conscious aesthetic gore, satiring Lo-fi analogue photography and design from the 80s.
If you ever pick up a late 80s entertainment mag and look for the photos in there, you'll get the gist.
What I don't like is that on her website, she features some work that looks a lot like assignment criterias for college level photo classes, and I don't really understand why she would choose to feature that work when she's working at a professional level now.
Reminds me of Maya Fuhr's work as well.
You should look up the masterclass portfolios from Yale's photography program, you'll notice that the current design trend in formally educated art photographers starts to blend together and look the same.
