Why haven't you killed yourself already?
Is the GH4 the cheapest camera out there with a decent log profile? I use BM but was thinking about getting a B-cam which can do stills.
>>2932457
Can't be bothered tbqh senpai.
>>2932465
Seconding this because I'm also interested in upgrading to the GH4.
Also, this might be excessively advanced for an independent work, but how do I make some transitional space footage for a sci-fi short? I was thinking about starting off the film with a light pan across space culminating in the reveal of a Mars-like planet which would cut to a shot of an astronaut in a desert, but I have no idea on how to make it without looking incredibly fake. I suppose the most viable route would be starting in a black screen and panning to a high resolution picture of a planet, but wouldn't that just sort of like... well... a static image of a planet? Most films, like 2001 and Star Wars, sort of have the atmosphere visible around the horizon of the planet, would that add anything? Perhaps some film grain to lightly fake ISO noise could also help to make it actually look like a video?

What is this Canon meme?
http://nofilmschool.com/2016/10/these-are-top-50-dslrs-camera-lens-combos-being-used-today
Maybe I am missing something but you will have to drop $2500 for a canon eos 5d mark iii body and then probably $500 for a good lens and then up to $1000 for average gear just to shoot something. For about $1000 less you can get a GH4 and shoot in camera 4k, why are people getting the Canon? Because it is full frame? Better ISO? If you want better low light shooting just get a sony a7s, even though it is not in camera 4k it's still cheaper...
>pic unrelated
>For about $1000 less you can get a GH4 and shoot in camera 4k, why are people getting the Canon?
Because 4k is a meme and requires you to have an equally expensive computer if you want to edit and render 4k footage in a reasonable amount of time.
>>2948778
Then why does everyone push me to get a 4k camera in every gear recommendation thread?
>>2948833
because they're affordable now like the Panasonic G85. It might not be built specifically as a video camera like the GH4 but the specs are almost the same and you get Dual IS.
A while back I got invited by a friend to come to Austria with her. She invited me on a wednesday, we were leaving on friday. The planning on that was quite... Bad. But we had a great weekend and I got away with (what I think) are some pretty decent snapshits.
No idea how many there are, but I'll just post some.

Sorry, just after a random opinion... but if I had to say it's for a Girl category photo comp.
I need you guys to pick one quick plz don't judge super amateur photos
Greetings /p/
I was wondering if you guys could help me.
So a few days ago I went to a birthday party where I was payed to take photos. Usually whenever I have to export the RAW files I just connect the camera body to the computer and do the importing from there. Due to unfavorable circumstances I had to go in another city for this week and got my SD card with me, hoping that I might be able to work on the photos. Now the laptop that I work on here(unlike the desktop on which I usually work my photos on) has an SD slot. I put the SD card in but I get pic related.
Now,the question is,is there anything I can do to get rid of this and import my photos in LR or do I have to wait until I have access to the camera and do it the old fashioned way?

Camera-Specific Properties: Camera Software Adobe ImageReady Image-Specific Properties:
Try mounting the SD card in Linux.
File table on the card is corrupt. Do not write to it or anything.
Acquire a copy of File Scavenger or similar file recovery software and load the card into it. All your pictures should be recoverable, and you may want to invest in another SD card they have a life expectancy of 5-10 years before they do shit like this.
This can be caused from turning off power to the card while a file is being written to it or a simple I/O error, try it with the camera hooked up via USB cable first. If that doesn't work, seek file recovery software. FS isn't free but if you dig around the Internet (or happen to be in Springfield, MO tomorrow morning) you can get something similar free.

>>2947507
also this. Acquire a copy of Hiren's Boot Disk, it can be made on a USB stick. Use Parted Magic to view your files, there should be some sort of data recovery suite on that boot disk. It is essentially an oh-shit-I-Fucked-up tool that can save your shit, did it many times.
Feedback please?
I think this could be a nice pic, but the weather :/

Thanks!

>K1000 sticky mirror
How hard are these cameras to repair? I found one at a local goodwill with a 50mm f/2 and 35mm f/3.5.. They wanted like $60 but said I could make an offer because I told them the body was broken.
It was in relatively good condition EXCEPT the mirror would go very slow on the way up after you pressed the shutter.. But then after it got up and I could press the shutter again and it would return at regular speed. It was just the mirror that was sticky but the shutter was working fine and at correct speeds.
Is this a common problem? Could it be easy to fix? Or should I just forget about it?
