What monitor does /p/ uses ?
I am currently using laptop. Thus no external monitor. I'm looking forward to add extentsion for color accuracy.
What monitor do you recommend ? Also, need cheaper one. No need of big screen. ok with 10-16inch.

I use a Dell Pro whatever monitor I got used cheap. 24" IIRC, cost less than a full tank petrol in my car. It is nice and never bothered to calibrate it.
>>2956690
Oh, forgot to add I use it on my laptop, LR runs on the big monitor, the secondary tools screen runs on the lappytop screen.

sony a7 or fuji x-t1 considering buy either one of these use. I want to hear all of your opinions
Are you a total faggot that likes it deep in the anus? If yes buy a sony.
Now fuck off
Oh boy, here we go again!
This crazy ride will never end!
Sony
It's got much larger & better lens selection
Better low light performance
Better ergonomics, more customization
Full frame, so full frame lenses look like they should
Better evf
Much better upgrade path
Lighter
Af is equally average, but much improved in later models from sony
Fuji has only one compatible flash gun and no hss
No third party companies make lenses for fuji apart from samyang, because fuji users are seen as a bit of a joke in the industry
The fuji only goes down to iso 200, the sony will do iso 50.
Ken Rockwell is currently trolling the Universe
He knows.

That's me. And I'm not depressed ..maybe I just forget to grab my camera everything I go out
I just scored this beauty yesterday for $50 off craigslist. Coming from digital, why does this camera feel so revolutionary? It seriously shits all over my Canon 7D that I've been shooting with all this time.
Any film tips from those who have had the pleasure of shooting with this beauty?

>ARCHITECTURE PHOTOGRAPHY

I want to start purchasing books from the greatest architecture photographers.
Who are the all time greatest architectural photographers? And what books should I consider purchasing?
>bonus stage
I am also very interested in city photography.. As in the architectural aspects and not street, but with that same sort of feel (documenting cities and places) is there a name for this type of photography or does it just fall under architecture? I am fascinated by city infrastructure and the built environment..
Thanks

Less architectural photographers, more researching the actual buildings/architects and visiting them.
Architecture is an experience that is beyond visual.

So I got my hands on some expired portra 400vc and I'm excited to shoot it but the rolls expired in 2002 and 2003 and I'm not sure exactly the proper way to expose them. I've heard a rule that says one stop for every 10 years so should I shoot it at 200 or perhaps 160 because its been a bit longer then 10 years? If I do give the film an extra stop or so of light do I tell them to pull the film when they develop it or just dev it like normal c41?
>>2956293
how was the storage? if they were cold stored, you wont see any problem at all.
give it more light because well fed portra behaves beautifully (half a stop).
develop as you would develop a fresh roll.
Good thing there isn't a dedicated thread for these questions. And thanks for knocking off another thread from the board.

lmao are you seriously complaining about one of the primary features of 4chan? kill yourself, you fucking cuck. seriously, go somewhere else. you don't belong here if you're complaining about shit like dead threads being bumped off page 10.
Sigma 10-20 mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM vs Canon 10-18 mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM
Will be used for photography and video. Budget matters. Is there another one that beats both, please tell me so.
pic not related.
>>2956004
Using FF?
>>2956016
No, I'm using crop.
>>2956020
Then get the the sigma 18-35mm 1.8
Very very sharp, even wide open, and its minimal focal distance is like 30cm from sensor. I use it all the time for video.
Just google a few reviews of it, its the best wide-angle for crops on the market
is pentaks a maymay?
>>2955839
No, it's a camera
Considering how absolutely shit the m series lenses are, they're worse than a meme. Plus why would you buy some pentax meme camera cause muh
>better price point
>Better sensor
>Better stills
>Full frame
I mean shit, the only difference between pentax and a piece of shit is the viewfinder

I still use it for portraits and when my 50/1.8 Nikkor isn't enough.
I can never get the photos to merge right
>>2956012
You're probably panning incorrectly. You should pan around the focal point, not the sensor/film or whatever.
Hi, /p/, newfag here. I recently bought my first camera, a d3300 and lense, a 50mm f1.8 lense. I didn't realize though that fx lenses are different somehow on dx cameras. I'm doing fine with the set up I have but do you guys think it would be worth it to get a 50mm equivalent lense (35mm) in fx format?
The 35mm DX 1.8g is one of the best cost/benefit nikkor lenses.
But I would sell the D3300 and get an used D7000 or better.
Then enjoy all the older motor focused cheap lenses. You can buy a Tamron 17-50 f 2.8 very cheap (AF won't work on the D3300).
>>2955619

Any camera that resembles a DSLR or looks like you can change the lens. Just like how every gun that resembles an ar15 or ak47 is an "assault" weapon. You could get away with an rx100 or a rangefinder style with a pancake lens.
