The D70 has a first generation sensor that performed well at its base ISO, but degrades rapidly as you get beyond ISO 400. At that point, any modern sensor will probably perform better. But lenses trump sensor and skill is far more important than either.

What is your opinion on Tilt and Shift photography (only digital). What's your tips and tricks and what is the best option for you on the market for Architectural Photography.
Tips?
>Make lines parallel so designs don't look all fucked up.
If I were wanting to shoot architecture on digital, I'd get a Sony alpha mount so I could pick and choose tilt shift lenses from various mounts and adapt them. With such a limited supply of t/s lenses, being able to choose from all available ones is a huge advantage.
>>2945147
any mirrorless can choose between all of them, not just a sony
people like you, clueless but ample "advice-giving" are why /p/ is a cancerous /dpreview/ now.

You can also get ts adapters for nex. Kinda leaves every other option in the dirt.

what kind of post processing color grading bullshit do I need to do to have my pics have this kind of vibrant color?
download the google nik collection and use one of the film simulation presets
those are easy and fun
>>2945003
Fuji presets are cool where as Kodak is warmer. Also increasing exposure before into Nik preserves detail imo.
also, have a setting with vibrant colors. Don't expect snapshits in a city to be as vibrant
I am looking something that allows me to upload more wide collage pictures like p related with some basic white background. nothing fancy.

Visiting your board for a quick question.
I recently participated in a one-day-course at my university which now allows us to borrow their cameras.
You can get a Canon XH A1s for whatever project you want to do and get your film published on a TV station.
Is this camera any good for film making? I want to start doing some short films and I thought this was a good opportunity. Or is this model already outdated and you can get something comparable for 200€ now?
Filming with this thing was pretty fun, but it records to tape which is somewhat annoying when you want to edit.
>>2944902
We used to use them. Nice camera, disadvantages I can think of offhand are
1. MiniDV (tape) based. You'll be spending maybe $5 a tape (1 hr record time,) and will need a computer with Firewire to import the video. Hopefully the department that loans you the camera also allows you access to their computers at at least do that.
2. No swappable lens. Not really a big issue, desu. We never had problem with that, Prior we were using the Canon XL2 which can swap lenses, but we never made use of that feature.
I believe Canon also EOL'd that model and no longer services it, so hopefully the school's cameras are in order.
>>2944902
Its a solid early HD camcorder (it doesn't do 1080P BUT for the price (it can be found for 400-600 in solid condition since everyone is selling it for the XF if they like the camcorder form factor. Firewire cards are cheap but like the other anon said, it is time consuming (and honestly the cheap way is to buy the consumer model XG something and use THAT as your capture deck.
Its a solid first camcorder, if you had a bit more funds I'd say go to the XF100
>>2944995
>it is time consuming
ah, forgot about that. MiniDV capture is in real time. If you shoot an hour of footage, expect the camera to sit at the computer for an hour to transfer the footage.
Is that a brenizer shot? No way you can create such shallow DOF with a single shot and wide FOV.
EXIF says it was shot with a Canon 1Ds, 165mm at f/3.5
>>2944787
Keep in mind that aperture isn't the only thing that affects depth of field. Focal length and focusing distance both play a role. At a very long focal length of 165mm (not a wide field of view by any stretch of the imagination) and a close focusing distance that's barely head and shoulders, this is completely plausible.
You wouldn't believe what a Canon 200mm f/1.8 or f/2 would do to a shot like this.
>>2944790
I own a D800 + 200 2.0 myself but never managed to create such a sharp transition from focused to completely blurry parts without bokeh stitching.
>>2944803
Well, I simply find that impossible to believe.
PLEASE HELP!!!
I took out the CF card out of a Canon EOS 50D, put it in a external disk adapter and it said the disc needs to be format... I didn't do it of course.
But now I put back the CF card into the camera and it says the same: CF needs format...
I have 2000 pictures in there. How can I recover them :/
PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME
digital amirite folks?
>>2944657
Not familiar with CF, but if there's a gap on it like on some SDs it might be blocking it from being readable. For me, my cheap ass chinese card reader completely blocked even reading from it before I did this and after it worked again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-l95BT1hhU

I'm pretty new to film photography and was still wondering how to properly push ISO speed.
In this chart you can see stuff, right? I couldn't see anything clear.
There's actually nothing like my roll's code on the chart.

I've been doing this for half an hour. I can't figure this out for myself for shit
I have a question about 360 degree photography and video. A client came to me and wants to do some 360 degree imagery of their exterior and rooftop to show the beauty and to allow interactivity of their location. I told them I've never done this before but they are a good client so I'm willing to rent the equipment, give it a shot, and give them a final verdict in a week.
So I've been playing with a rental now for a couple days and I'm having issues in two areas.
First, how do you film something without seeing yourself? This is assuming you are dollying down a path. I don't have any electronic carts, so I tried mounting it to a stabilizer but I can still see myself in much of the frame. I have kind of gotten around this by cutting off the bottom ~15% of the imagery, but was wondering if there were better methods you could introduce me to.
2nd: What programs would you suggest to stitch everything together? The device I use stiches the imagery automatically in video, but not photography. And the program I was told to use is kind of "cheap" feeling and doesn't stitch very well and I have to go through a ton of imagery to make minor corrections. It wouldn't be a big deal if it was just a few images, but I'm looking at timelapses and it is a nightmare.
Suggestions?

Clearly you didn't read.
Already did my homework, now I'm seeking advice on technique on a board that frequently discusses technique. That is part of this communal forum. Please go back to /b/ if you are going to troll.
>>2944368
I pointed out my situation. Wasn't implying anything. Not sure where you got the thought of implications from.
Your two responses are exactly why this board is so slow. I'm not sure what provoked such ignorant responses but why don't you prove how much better you are by answering the questions asked? OR show me how much better you are instead of acting like I some how insulted you.
Serious question here: What did I post that made you so angry and why? I frequent this board often and see lots of responses like yours negatively impacting peoples' experience here. I, myself, post many things to help people where I can. Every now and then a couple like yourselves pop up out of the wood work. Just curious to know what your drive is.

Why would you discourage something that this board was created for?
