Hey /p/enors,

I got a funny information by accident: A friend's friend I met work at a social media marketing agency, and he admitted that they place content by offer also on 4chan and 9gag and reddit and so on. For example they are paid by the military service to place content on 9gag. Stuff like "touching" thank-you-for-your-service stories or pictures of cool tanks and shit. In fact they themselves again use a service offered by the website's marketing departments which - in this case - makes it obsolete to get bumped to get on the first page (or however it works there).

When I asked him which companies pay them and for which they place content on the chan, I lol'd quite hard when he mentioned Sony (for cameras) and Pentax.

He also told me that especially for Sony they have been told to seed information in a more sophisticated way. Like e.g. working with negative propaganda. Saying "you don't need a sony to make good pictures" or something like that is seen as even more efficient than just dropping positive statements about the brand. Also they are paid by freuquency of mentioned names of their products, like a6000 and stuff (where's my cash Sony??).

Well, I found this explains a lot. And I'm looking forward to read the damage control. (Pro-tip for the shillers: best is to ignore the thread.)

So I shot my first wedding yesterday as a second shooter and I guess opening my eyes into how hard it is to get quality good shots throughout the day.

I know my gear is limited and once it was dark I found it very challenging to get usable shots...

ALSO who the fuck has those good photos after the ceremony at fucking lunch time? Totally just fucking the golden hours out.

If anyone here shoots weddings and has tips or stories, I would love to hear.

A lot of people unless you as photographer advise them how to do it better?

Although you should be prepared to do virtually *anything* at least "okay". Yea, the light sensitive grandpa will just be in his dark corner. Have strobes and a good camera/lens for it, eh.

That said, next time, be the primary photographer and plan the main photos, bring backgrounds and lights and stuff, bring a makeup artist, and do a bunch of shots just right?

Many pros suck. They bring a zoom lens, TTL flash, and shoot anything wide open no preparations. Minimal post and done.

'cause they either don't care or feel they don't really get paid enough to actually care.

Maybe you'll get old and jaded like that too, but for now, at least TRY bringing at least one camera with a nice prime, picking a good aperture and doing good composition, and instruct people to move to better locations if they pick shitty busy backgrounds or poor light.

Since you replied genuinely to my truthful but essentially troll post.

The camera is alright, consider your composition and photography as creating images and not just snapping away. Your location looks ok, you could shoot on a tripod, long exposure with better composition or learn about creating panoramas, learn more about editing.

Snapshits rarely generate anything worthwhile.
