goddamnit /k/
just bought a 1st Gen glock for 400 bucks and I didn't notice this fuckery on the front sight.
some dick less piece of shit drilled to holes in the slide so this piece of shit front sight could be staked on.
still like the gun since it's a very early producton g17.
is my only option to have the holes welded then Rema chine the front sight hole?
also gun came with a lasermax guide rod I sold for 150 so it's not like I paid alot for this gubook but I really wanted a nice example for my collection.

re-machined*
sorry not spell checking with my phone
You can't just install a normal front sight despite that?
I decided my next purchase is going to be a bolt action rifle because I'd like to get into some long range shooting and possibly competitions in the future. My choices are mostly 500$ or less rifles.
Ruger American Predator
Remmington 700
Savage Axis II XP
All of them have their budget versions(783/Ruger American and Savage XP) which I'm also considering depending on price.
Which of these would be the best starter rifle?
can't say what's best, but 783 is the worst.

Wash some more dishes and get a Tikka T3

QC is shit? or what?
Noguns faggot here, is this a viable home defense tool?
>>32679743
Better than nothing. Definitely better than a knife. Can you combo with a can of mace?
Id get a machete instead. Or a cutlass if you want to be fancy

Duct tape a flash light to the head.
I was driving past my local gunstore and noticed a news crew outside. After my errands were done on the way back I saw a carpet cleaning van out front. A guy blew his brains out in the range. Why do people do this? Has this happend in your parts? I realize that he may have rented a gun there because noguns but it seems like a real dick move.
A local range has had a three suicides in a month like 20 years ago. It was after the third suicide that they changed policy to only renting guns out to group or people who bring their own guns.
>>32679832
I thought that "no gun rentals to one person" was a /k meme
>>32679832
>literal no singles policy
Just end it already
OH WAIT
What does /k/ carry?
2 1/2 inch 6 shot for window lickers
Hornady 45c for everything else
9mm 124gr sig elite v-crown in a glock 19
Theyre ok but theyre the cheapest and most stocked at my lgs

>Guys, what bolt is this?

>moar locking lugs
does not make a stronger lock up

Gun store owner/worker anons what horror stories do you have about your most ill-informed, un-informed, neglegent, or downright irresponsible customers?
>>32679233
Not in the industry currently but that's fine. People can burn you out. I think the most frustrating was at a show last year with a Vietnam vet who had some transgender issues. He was out of his mind, arguments none stop, even when I was avoiding them. I just wanted him gone and if I didn't have another person at the table to turn the sale, I would have ended up loosing my cool.
>customer comes up to optics counter
>what are looking for today sir?
>"well I have a SCAR 17 with an ACOG on it and I kind of wanted to push it further so I figured I'd need a more powerful optic."
>not bad.jpg
>show him nightforces, trijicons, vortex, and leupolds
>guy is seeming to get more annoyed every time I show him something
>finally points to the Bushnell case
>"Let me see that $150 one"
>looks it over and I remark something about wanting to get a .22 scope as well
>"No this is for my SCAR. I'll take it."
>explain to customer that this is like putting the cheapest tires at Wal-Mart on a corvette
>"This is what I budgeted for a scope. Can you guys mount it?"
>tell him no so he leaves
Why /k/?
Haven't told this one in a while but:
>Be 20
>Get nugget as first gun because poor college kid
>Visiting home for summer
>See a Gander Mt and stop to look for 54r
>Walk in, go to counter
>Ask lady if they are carrying 7.62x54r
>"Have what?"
>7.62x54r?
>"Wtf. You're the third guy this week asking for that weird sniper ammo."
>He was kinda dressed like you too.
>I'm wearing jeans and a polo shirt
>Wat
>"You stay put, sir. I'm getting the manager. Something's not right here."
>She points to other girl behind counter
>Make sure HE doesn't leave."
>She storms off
>Wat
>Old fudd with a cart full of fishing supplies laughs and says "Just run boy, she's got something loose in her skull."
>I 360 and moonwalk out
>Other employee doesn't even bother t stop me, shes just standing with her hands out in a half-shrug like "What the fuck is her problem ?"
>Gander Mountain will never have my business again.
Why is it Africa still uses armored cars and why is it they use them better than armored cars in the second world war?
>>32678957
1. Cheap.
2. They don't have to contend with tanks.
>>32678957
A few reasons:
1. Operational range is of critical importance. Being ablot advance 500km into Angola with minimal support and minimal maintenace is essential; doing it fast is also required.
2. Enemy armor is at best T-62. So speed is a legit armor substitute as they have no real FCS; APFSDS from the 76mm ois enough to kill them.
3. Terrain is such that large wheels afford good mobility over more than 90% of possible combat zones, while requiring far less maintenace than tracks and being simpler and cheaper to run.
>>32679025
>enemy armor is at best T-62
>Morocco and egypt bought M1A1
>kenya and ethiopia use T-72M
>Sudan and morocco operate Type-96
>even fucking angola had T-72
Gentleman (and butch ladies),
is there a reliable site, like a "kelley blue book" for guns.
I would like to purchase a used revolver and a used polymer gun at some point.
After looking online and going to a gun show, I see that prices can vary wildly (much like cars) on the model you are looking at (condition, the model's popularity, etc. etc. etc.). I find it to be a little bit annoying because no one seems to have a proper handle on what guns are worth because there's no system keeping track of what guns are being bought and sold for (unlike cars).
any tips on figuring out "fair" prices on used firearms?
>>32678920
Gun Trader and Gun List are the most common but aren't always accurate.
Also beware of fudds using 10+ year old editions to tell you what something is worth.
>>32678920
Go to a gun show, look at the price, halve it. Thats fair price.
>check retailers who sell said gun for feel of street price
>check armslist/gunbroker/forums on the model, it's condition, and asking prices (knocking out stupid high prices)
>get good idea of what said gun costs
It's really not that hard, come on.
Name a more fudd cartridge than the 30-30
>protip you cant
>>32678855
I would say it's a toss up between fuddy-fuddy and fuddy-aught six.
My vote is two fuddy tree
>>32678855
Hornsby Leverevolution dimishes fudd factor significantly.
Would /k/ be OK serving with women if they were held to the same standard as men?
>>32678823
No, because they'd all just be lesbians.
>>32678829
Yeah, but lesbians are hot.
>>32678823
Yes. You pass basic and you should be allowed through.
Most of /k/'s whining is because half of them weren't breastfed enough and fear women irrationally.
I feel bad for those poor soul's. I wonder if they've ever even had sex with a woman who doesn't have a feminine penis.
What do you all think of this cuck?
he seems like a reasonable person
