Here's what I said about my thoughts last night, pretty late in the thread:
Inb4 "CTR" because I'm probably going to trigger some people.

I be view the NRA as a necessary evil, currently they are engaged in expanding and preserving gun rights, ad are one of the only groups that do this. However, it is not hard to see the motivation behind this. They are promoting these gun rights because the increased political eye on firearms has threatened gun sales. With more gun control comes less gun sales, which means less profit. I do believe they will fight gun control tooth and nail... if it ensures a monetary benefit.
I do think the NRA protects gun rights, but not for the reason that most either believe or wish to believe.
>>
Something that old people care about.

I rather spend my money supporting manufacturers and facilities.
>>
>>32669950
Everything revolves around money dude. Want to change it? Go become a politician. My bet is you become greedy, too.

I don't care the NRA or aka the gun lobby has it's hands in politicians pockets. The Democrats are complete hypocrites. How much self respect and logic are they going to give up for some of Bloombergs money?

I'm glad the gun lobby is around. I'm glad their trying to use their money to change shit. I don't care if they buy people off. Not doing so means our rights go bye bye because the democucks are pushing some serious anti gun funding and are just as guilty. The gun lobby is great.

Tac A1 in now on Tikka's website:

At least the grip and handguard have changed since last year and there are a few new attachment points for sling. It still has that retarded 5/8x24 muzzle thread though, which is a huge downside.

Will there ever be a weapon/weapon technology that makes it possible for one country to control the entire world?
23 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>32667688
Yes, but closed door meetings of top intelligence agencies will do everything in their power to suppress it, the world is much more stable with various countries in stalemate or just threatening and never carrying out full-scale war
>>
>>32667688
No, shit gets stolen/copied and convergent research is a pretty human thing. Just look at pretty much every discovery or invention ever made. There's almost always 2 or 3 versions being worked on at the same time.

Oh wait. The answer is yes. MONEY is the weapon that can control the world, but it can't control the people
>>
>>32667688
Yes, it already exists. It's called an aircraft carrier without poverty ramps.

its a knockoff. Design is the HK 416'style, but at a standard USGI A2 gripangle. Or possibly a BCM grip they fudged on, or a A1 in FDE with a A2 nub superglued on.

Colt CAR stock with rubber buttpad on top of 1.25" cast iron pipe
PMAG with ranger plate
KAC (or DD) non-FFR, the first type
Troy BUIS
not sure what the fuck is between the charging handle and buis
16" barrel that was made into a 14.7"

Ok /k I had this idea a while ago and decided to draw it up. This was done like 2 years ago and I was not aware at the time of similar designs. My question here is if my design could work as intended or if there are any other designs out there nearly the same. I know of shot shell bullets designed to fire out of rifled barrels but I would also like to know what the best design out there is regardless if it is not similar in design to mine in case I should just give up on this because it has already ben dun befoah in a superior configuration.

So...a sabot filled with buckshot.
Nice.
However with would probably have problems cycling semi automatic firearms, and it also wouldn't contain enough shot, both in diameter and weight, to be worth a damn unless we're talking .50 BMG.

Sorry man.

Rifled barrels tend to make a hole or dead spot in the middle of a shot pattern.

Hey guys

So Im writing a book about a dude, and anyway he needs to get ahold of a suppressed glock 17. How would one go about this illegally in a fake country that is similar to a US/canada/sweden type of country? Any ideas?

What makes pic related so good that it's same basic design is still serviceable almost 100 years later?

Simplicity.
>>
>>32667170
It works and there isn't anything that does the same stuff significantly better than it.
>>
It's a mounted gun so there's not nearly as much incentive to reduce weight as handheld weapon. And there's no desire to lighten the cartridge, it's supposed to be big, so it's unlikely there ever will be incentive to replace it unless some really magic stuff comes along

They abandoned it because the US was handing them Foreing aid and military supplies like surplus US equipment and M16A1s to the point that it was cheaper to get a US lended M16 than to build a Galil.

Hi /k/, first time postan here.

I've read the sticky and I know butterflies are not good EDC knives, but my gf goes absolutely nuts for them.

Her birthday is soon and I was considering giving one to her as a present. Truth is I have absolutely no clue of what brands are good or what to look for, so I turn to you for help.

I think 30 yuros is sensible for a decent knife, I don't want anything over the top, but nothing that would break instantly either.

I live in Spain, if it's any help. Here there is a pretty big knife industry in Toledo and Albacete, but I suspect they're in it to sell gimmicky swords and other medieval memorabilia.

send help

You wont get a good one for 30.

Bear and son are ok but not good.

https://www.reddit.com/r/balisong/comments/4r6eqs/squidmasters_balisong_price_guide_2016_edition/

Best ones pretty much listed. Then theres microtech metalmarks that are ok priced and come in fun colors too, maybe shell like one of those.
>>
Any bali under 100 will break and get stuck in someones eye. You can get a bradley kimura for around 100 on reddit knife_swap or bladeforums if youre lucky and act fast. Post in the " want to buy thread " for one of those.

>Bear and son

See? Those prices are more reasonable. I mean I get it won't be an amazing knife, but if I had to give her a chef's knife I wouldn't go to a fucking temple in Okinawa and get it there.

Any more "ok but not good"?

HELP!

I am getting either a DP-12 or a Vepr 12
>DP retails for about $1,200

>Vepr for $705

But, I want both actually.

I can afford both.

I really shouldn't though.

I really could though.

Doesn't having one sorta make the other superfluous, and vice versa?

I really like the differences and strengths of both though, even if they mostly overlap in ability.

Alright /k/ommandos I need some major firearm help. I got myself a turkish mauser that was made in 1942. and I fired PPU 8mm sp out of it yesterday. I read about the different mauser bore sizes. Did I use the right 8mm? And what other 8mm rounds can I use in it

The ones that say 8mm Mauser on them should work. Also if they say 8x57 Mauser or 7.92x57 mauser should also work.

I also heard about like s type and js types its just a little confusing

Is PPU good ammo?

Not just is it accurate enough but does it burn cleanly. Its the cheapest brasscase 7.62R thats not corrosive

Hi /K/, #noguns spaincuck here
As you probably know, my country is very terrible in many ways, not the least of which being über restrictive gun laws (i even have to register my airsoft replicas as "fully automatic, 6mm caliber sporting weapons", how's that?). As i'm finishing my college studies and getting closer to reliable independence, i am of course
consolidating my bail out plan to a country that allows me some proper fun. Wanting to avoid the US, my choice has always gravitated between Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Finland.
Lately though, Finland has been getting the most traction as an option due to its proximity to russia (demivatnik here) and the fact that i could put the fact that im learning russian to good use there. Capital factors also being that my gf has an unhealthy obsession with all things suomen and very attractive housing prices, small density of population (we antisocial) and generally good living standards.
However, while i have done my homework and investigated gun laws in Finland (as i understand, save for full auto and specialty ammo, everything goes). I am still somewhat doubtful
Any fellow /k/ who are suomi or otherwise knowledgeable on Finland
-did i miss anything important?
-is there any restriction to just grabbing your fun and going innawoods?
-any restriction on imports? what kind of fun can you get there? anything banned by name?
-otherwise useful info regarding moving to Finland also appreciated
-Bonus points: know anything about the airshit scene in Finland?

P.S. relevant data: I'm proficient in english (would like to think) and have basic russian, my GF is pretty good in english and working on suomi, but would plan to move once shes proficient in suomi and im done with russian. i plan to learn suomi myself either before leaving or there

Thx in advance m8s

You need to jump through a million hoops to get pretty much any gun at all.
And even when you get a permit, you don't really even own it
