It's more mallninja than fudd.
No fudd would use it, its designed for those scurry salt high map auto pistols, not good old fashioned DA revolvers.
>>
>>32678855
I would say
>turdy-awt-six
but that was still a military cartridge
or...
>Tree-O-Ate
but, that would up being a parent case for 7.62x51mm and is interchangeable.
>Too-Sebendy or Too-Furdy-Tree
But those are based off of .30-06 and .308 respectively. So...

>.30-30
>No parent case
>Never used for military applications on any significant scale.
>Never used for police applications on any significant scale.
>Terrible for autoloaders
>Not popular in bolt actions
>Heavy round head bullet doesn't have phenomenal ballistics but it's weight causes it to punch through brush.
>Never used by competition shooters
>Not often used by hot loaders
>Not a snowflake caliber
>Only really good for 'Muh leber ackshun' or 'Only the first shot counts' guns.

It's scientifically the most fudd caliber out there.
>>

>>
>>32678855
You just might be right op.

A 30-30 is well known and an answer to fudd needs. However fudds are also cheap and economy bolt guns I think would sell first. Or used pump/bolt rifles. Fudds love pump 30-06's.

I say the fudd club likes as a whole: 30-30, 35 rem, 30-06, 270 win, 257 Roberts and 300 savage.

My vote for a caliber is:
7mm Remington Magnum
>Based off of .375 H&H
>Never used in war
>Parent case never used in war
>Not too old
>Not extremely new
>Not fantastically popular
>Not totally obscure
>Almost impossible to find an auto-loader for it beyond some shitty AR-10 derivative.
>Actually know a fudd who had one.

Find a flaw, I dare thee.
>>
Why is nobody going for an easy one?
>20 Gauge
>>
>>32679151
I didn't include them for the same reason I almost didn't include 270 win. If you give a fudd the choice between 308, 270, and 30-06 in his pump Remington, 9/10 he picks the damn 06.

I also almost included 22 mag. In my area it's what fudds really love. Fudds here horde it and 17 is fucking over stocked. I like my Ruger American in 22 mag but I fucked up. Should have gotten the 17.

From a reloading standpoint 7mm mag, though a powder burner and not efficient, does shine in case volume and hotter loads.

They often prefer wildcats because they think mechanical accuracy or ballistic coefficient actually matters much when hunting deer.

45-70 or 30-30 is objectively the most fudd rifle cartridge.

As far as pistol cartridges, I'd say .45 is definitely the most fudd. It doesn't matter that it has actual merit and is still used by military forces, I have literally never met a fudd who carried anything other than a .44 or a .45.

Yup, it was a varmint cartridge designed before the .223 remington was a thing. It was also used as the parent case to make the .221 Fireball cartridge.

what bullets are you looking at for $50/100? you can get jacketed 200gr soft-points $25, or cast for even less.

$35, and can probably get 10 reloads out of them. that's 25 years worth of brass if you only shoot a box per year.

per shot cost:
>$0.25 bullet

$0.51 per round - $10.20 per box

Fudd reporting
30-30 has a parent case that was used by the military, 30-30 has higher chamber pressure
35rem true fudd cartridge, but fat heavy bullet is good in dense undergrownth, ideal for fudd hunting
.30-06 US millitary cartridge, 2nd best non-magnum rifle cartridge
270 win parent is .30-06, non-fudd
275 roberts is stupid stupid stupid
300 savage, response to 30-30 win. Saw limited use in the savage model 99 in WW1. Use in major military makes it non-fudd. Also just a lot of fun as far as .30 cal rifles go. Also good in dense brush since it can take a nice fat 200gr bullet.

Your list is generally fudd favorites I will give you that, but really the only fudd cartridge there is the 35rem, like all rem-shits.

Hornady FTX. OK, they're $41 at Cabela's, but that's the MSRP.

Eh, ultimately, it's not that big a deal, just an annoyance. The cheapest factory loads also happen to be the best, with Hornady Leverevolution.

my dad is the only one I know that uses those. he has a custom barreled Nip made Browning clone of a Winchester 71, in .35-.348. wouldn't waste money on those in a .35 Rem. just use the Hornady or Sierra round nose 200gr. FTX is not going to turn a .35 Rem into a 300 yard hunting rifle.

my point was reloading it yourself for $10/bx. even rolling your own with FTX bullets, is only $12.60/bx
>>
>>32682244
Not exactly a reliable price point, looks like that particular load is being discontinued from it's usual $32.

OP of 36. I will agree with you, everyone and their Sperm has an AR. I live in Texas, soo many AR's lever actions, bolt guns and shotguns. First rifle I ever shot was a. 243, was hunting in South Texas.

I know what each word means separately, but wtf is "match hunting"? somebody holds competitive deer hunting matches, and a bullet manufacturer makes bullets for that particular niche sport? or is it just a marketing term that you bought into?

I was just being nice and passing along a cheap price I found on ammo for a gun you own. I'm not sure if you're being willfully retarded or just autism, but my point was that you can feed your rifle for $10/box, if you actually cared. you obviously don't or are just really fucking lazy. kys

Sure, if I dedicate $2000 and a good chunk of my apartment to equipment and a loading bench. Not everybody needs to do reloading, or has the time, space, or whatever to burn.
>>

Please KYS
I put together my set up for $140 with powder, bullets and primers included.
granted I'm using fudd 30-30 and a lyman 310 press and dies I found local for cheap. But it packs up in a 12x12x12 book box and sets up nice on the coffee table. I also mass my powder with a balance I got at the same sale.

Good for you. Stop being a twat about it.

I bought my shit used and probably don't have $100 in it total. it takes up a few square feet, and can probably single-stage a box of rifle ammo before hickok45 finishes thanking Federal for his ammo.

Dude, you can get a brand new Lee press and reloading kit for like $120 bucks at midway. You really don't need anything else other than calipers and dies from an equipment standpoint.

When I started, I mounted my press, powder measure, etc, to a 24"x24"x2" thick piece of plywood. When I wanted to reload, I clamped it to my kitchen table. When I was done, I un-clamped it, and threw the plywood with the press and all into the closet.

it falls behind 30-06 after something like 50 yards. that's fudd as fuck.

I've killed about 20 deer with .243. I wouldn't use it on anything bigger, but it's pretty fucking beast as a deer rifle.

not him but i think they might use blank firing guns as rope/line throwers or something. no idea if it's in service elsewhere but i'm not aware of the american .mil using it for anything else.

right but the other rounds anon listed were actually practical and are actually used in combat, and you're telling me what i already know: creedmoor is not.

but, it is highly engineered for the singular purpose of going far, going where its told, and being used sparingly. i'm just suggesting it inherits fuddiness even though it probably doesn't go through deer all that often.

single action rifles are the safest/strongest action used by fudds who toss a couple of bullets in their pocket and walk out the door to hunt

This.

.25-06 will rape a deer.
>>
>>32685073

I've killed about 11 with .243 Win but ever since I got a .308 Win it's been pretty much a loaner gun.

I'm honestly getting that much better terminal ballistics with the new rifle.

I shot one directly where I wanted it (front shoulder, four inches up from the T) on the run and I got a golf-ball sized hole all the way through with Barnes.

Popped another on the walk at 250 with Core-Lokt and honestly didn't land the world's best hit (missed the bone and only got the back end of the lungs) and still recovered my deer.

Idk, man. I got the .308 Win because I shot a large deer down in the rain, and buddy he was big. He acted like he was down for the count. But in such heavy rain, the smaller holes weren't leaking enough blood to track after he got up.
>>
>50 yards
I don't think so
>Also twice the weight, up to 600 gr bullets, and 1.5x the width
Maybe 2 or 300 yards, I will grant you that, but even then, it penetrates like a motherfucker. I'm talking like penetration measured in feet anon.
