http://www.defensenews.com/articles/japan-unveils-armored-vehicle-prototype-for-counter-island-invasion

Japan’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) has unveiled a prototype eight-wheel drive armored personnel carrier (APC) as part of a research project for a new class of modular vehicles.

The project, known for now as the Wheeled Armoured Vehicle (Improved), will eventually lead to a new vehicle type to replace the Type 96 eight-wheel drive armored personnel carrier in use by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF).

The new vehicle will feature improved protection against a variety of threats such as improvised explosive devices, versatility and room for future growth in capabilities compared to the Type 96 it is replacing. It will also be fitted with a more powerful engine and a strengthened suspension to cope with the increased weight and payloads.

In a news release, Japan’s Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) announced that the prototype was handed over on Jan. 10. Built by Japan’s Komatsu Limited, the vehicle is 8.4 meters (27 feet) long, 2.5 meters (8 feet) wide and 2.9 meters (9 feet) high, with a weight of approximately 20 ton. It can carry 11 onboard including three crew members in its basic APC guise.

An ATLA spokesperson told Defense News that the engine onboard the prototype is a 10.8 liter diesel engine capable of developing approximately 500 horsepower (372.8 kilowatts), allowing the vehicle to attain a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) on paved roads.

Hitler didn't know shit about war and weapons.

he was considered to be such a poor strategist that one of the plans to kill him was dropped because whoever replaced him would do a better job of fighting the allies.

Why did the US even bother with Okinawa and Iwo Jima, the islands could have blockaded for a few weeks and then a small force of Marines could go in and shoot some half starved half dead Japs.

I'm not asking why capturing the islands was important, I'm asking why bother attacking a defended island when you can just surround it until the defenders starve to death.

Well anon, I may not be the best person to ask as I am a pole-o-phile I can try to give you some info. I own one of these as well as the p-64, and in regards to trigger pull, it's actually usable in double action mode unmodified. One big problem you'll encounter is concealed holsters are difficult to find for it. I checked sizing to the p-64 and I doubt it would work in a p-64 holster. Now if you have a place that makes kydex holsters nearby or a custom holster place then this may be a non issue for you. Another thing people will sometimes mention is these are potentially not drop safe, but personally I don't give a shit. It fills the hands well, better than the p-64, but you lose some of that nice conceal-ability the p-64 gives you. I generally only carry this in winter as the layers make it more comfortable against the body and easier to conceal. 9x18 Snakrov is a fine round and I'd recommend Hornady Critical Defense or Silver Bear JHP if you believe me. They are about as accurate as any makarov and I seem to be able to shoot mine well. Hope that helps anon.

Hello /k/

I'm in a good mood tonight. I took my Rock River Arms LAR-15 out to the long range today. Has a Vortex PST 1-4x

It was raining freezing rain and blowing 5-10mph.

Shooting 55gr American Eagle. Rifle has a 16" CAR heavy profile chrome moly barrel 1:9 twist.

Paid $700 for it like 3 years ago

Here was my grouping at 660yds.

Why do people pay more than $700 for an AR again?

Because they can. Some people have money and don't count pennies like others do, nor do they care about a poor's quest for a bargain. They live in a richer world. And no amount of reasoning or "muh arguments" will change it.

Because they're idiots. They also post on /k/, a lot.

Hey /k/ I'm making a registry for everyone on here so you can register your guns so that if you get called noguns you don't have to post your guns because you'll be certified here on /k/ and if you're arguing with someone who you think is noguns you'll know because they aren't registered. So go ahead and post your guns in this thread with the serial numbers showing and your name and I'll add you to the /k/ registry

Why would you own a AR15 instead of a AR10?
223 bounces off skulls while 308 actually penetrates and kills.

Start lifting pussy.

Get a job instead of roleplaying as a commando on an Internet board.
223 is just good enough to shoot rabbits with.

No seriously, give me at least 3 valid reasons.

We were mobilized in the early evening. My security clearance isn't high enough to know this on an official level, but I have it on good authority that we're under threat of a Chinese attack. I don't dare share this with the girls; most of them are a solid sort, but I can't trust that some won't desert to try and protect themselves or their families, and wind up spreading panic, especially on flimsy rumors based on flimsier intelligence from DoD.

We haven't been debriefed yet, but it's probably safe to assume we'll be on an evacuation detail in the rural areas. Our unit scored somewhat poorly in the last round of drills, and the high-flyers always get the urban details; we'll be stuck herding farmers and hermits in the hills.

Our unit has been assigned to a National Guard detachment. They drove all night from Pennsylvania. We're doing our best to keep the survivors placated while these boys get their strength up. The looting gets worse every day, and it's a small town. There can't be much left, and there's already been one scuffle at the canteen. These Guardsmen arrived just in time, I fear.

With shit like that I considered not doing it, but alright.

>be me around a year ago
>recent shooting has gotten people riled up
>protest in town by BLM, the kind of protest where people smash shit and the cops roll in
>me and a friend (stupidly) decide to check it out
>we carry in case
>show up unannounced, just stroll in without making ourselves known
>start getting yelled at, decide this was a bad idea
>people start approaching us, being loud as shit
>can't understand what they're yelling
>lady shoves my friend
>sharks smell blood
>these fuckers start fucking with us so we decide to get out
>turns into running real quick
>get chased around a corner, then a few blocks more
>we can't get to our car, I know we'll be outran before then
>have to draw on them
>yell warning but they slow down, not stopping
>2 shots, then we keep running

I don't know if anyone was seriously hurt, but I think about it all the time. I wonder who they thought we were, and if I really had to shoot.
