Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (also images shouldn't come out accidentally sideways with this method)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new sticky in town! You can see it at:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VfDTpLLVl5bWUGWguswKpPFml533luI8-NBd1EGYHnA/edit
>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Not sure if i've just blatantly overlooked the book list on /ic, but is there anywhere i should be looking to get more into drapery/more advanced explanations on hatching?
Collect pictures where you like the hatching and try to imitate. There are so many ways to hatch that it becomes a matter of preference. But there is some drapery drawing tutorial from the 50's (?) that gets posted around here, maybe someone else has it.
Roger, thanks i'll keep an eye out
>>2595223
the Burne Hogarth drapery book is supposed to be the best, something like "dynamic wrinkles and drapery"

>Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 1000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped.
>If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then murder your parents.

Should I apply Scott Robertson's way of drawing form to anatomy

For those freelancers who dream about earning enough NEET bucks from patreon to live comfortably, be wary. If we assume that a livable salary is $29,000 a year, then out of 163,510 patreon accounts, only about 350 make that mark.

Anyone who thinks of Patreon as their endgame career is an unequivocal retard. The amount of effort spent building up a Patreon could build a freelance career three-times over.

I can live off 500 bucks a month easily, and patreon is never your sole source of income

Why are artist s so bad with the business side
Does anyone feel like once you reach a phase of "flow", you stop seeing your mistakes and become incredibly lazy? And then you take a look at your art 5 hours later and realize you just wasted all that time doing some real dumb shit
Is flow bad for you? How does one prevent it?
Analyze the ways your being lazy and force yourself to not repeat those same bad habits. This is the only way
This is why people say to flip your canvas. Make a hotkey, OP.
>>2609835
Even if I flip my canvas it feels like I lose the ability to percept mistakes the longer I keep going.
How do you guys manage to go 10 hours a day like this.
Would you fine folks mind critiquing this for me? Wondering if there's anything I should consider changing before I do final line art and coloring
i recommend you to the appropriate thread

How do I draw for 8+ hours a day without getting burned out?
Right now I draw for one hour a day, and even that's a struggle sometimes. I'm thinking of asking my psych to prescribe me with Adderall or something. What do you guys think will help?
>>2605526
>I'm used to walking 100 feet to the grocery store, why can't I run a marathon?
Draw 1 hour a day, anon. A few weeks down the line, up it to 1½ or 2. A month down the line, get up to 3-4. And so on.
Oh, and don't be a faggot. Take breaks every half hour, or at least every hour.
>>2605526
Make it a goal to work a little longer every day until you hit that 8 hour mark.
>I'm thinking of asking my psych to prescribe me with Adderall or something
>relying on drugs that you don't need to make daily tasks easier
This is how addiction starts.
>>2605553
>Make it a goal to work a little longer every day until you hit that 8 hour mark.
Easier said than done. A better question would be how to organize the time so you'd be interested in your work for such a long period
I can work on studies and fanarts for a few hours at a time, but not longer.
After a few months of working two-four hours everyday, randomly switching between study-work and fun-practice (basically fanart with reference or random sketches) I didn't know what to do with myself.
How do you keep interest and plow through burnouts and art blocks?
Hello, I have a lot watching your arts and cartoons, really I inspired a lot with this forum and I leave you with thirst to be a cartoonist.
Unfortunately can not draw well, and that's what hurts me, not handling well the digital graphic arts, so I would ask support, since software is more like [NO SAI] until videos or blogs that i can read to improve.

Pony that I made today is my first drawing, so you are free to tell me how to improve both realism and every aspect that you deem necessary.

>You have to study at least 8 hours a day if you wanna make it
Is he right?
you can also just study 3h a day. but it will take you a lot longer. your choice
What's your goal? How long have you been studying already? What's your timeframe? Stop posting this shit.
8 hours of doing what? Studying what? How do you fill those 8 hours
Around the time I became depressed I lost all creativity, no piece I work on has any originality and is a direct copy of another artists style. Before this I was at least able to add something to differentiate my work and make it unique to the style I was using. Now it seems everything I make is boring and unoriginal. Have any of you dealt with this before? If so how did you get through it?
Realize that your need for creativity is an illusion and that being creative solely for the sake of being creative is useless and stupid. Find ways you can be creative through normal means. Try drawing curves opposite of how you normally do it. If you start with shadows and go to highlights, try doing it in the opposite order. You're not going to get creative by moping around, you get creative by breaking out of your comfort zone and enjoying the process rather than the end goal of "being creative".
How do you guys go about setting commissions?
I really want to make some money this summer, but I've always been scared about doing commissions. I don't know how much I should charge, how to hold customers accountable, and so forth.
How do you get started in commissioning?
>>2602657
Have a nice portfolio easily accesible. It allows clients to say shit like
>I want something like this, but with this character.
Have an above-beginner skill. People is not buying a drawing, they're hiring a skilled artist to make a drawing.
Always, and I mean ALWAYS ask for 50% in advance.
Anything else, such as payment options, ask another anons.
>>2602694
Here you go. Also, I do not understand your burger stamp reference.
>>2602685
Which system do you use for payment? I heard Paypal doesn't like nudity/raunchy art. I don't do porn though, so maybe I'll be okay?
How do I get paid to make modern art?
>>2602373
get a degree from an overexpensive fine art school, get a degree in philosophy elsewhere, find a rich dude who likes your awful work, and have him artificially inflate the price. Write tons of psuedophilosophical essays and make your work controversial by using a dead woman's detached labia lips as a brush and call your movement "necroabstraction".
