There are a lot of good artists that use it as an online gallery, is there something im missing?
if it is so bad, what website should someone use instead?
>>2599618
Nothing wrong with it m8.
>>2599618
The community of potatoids is the only shame in deviantart, but the same is true for any online gallery existing.
Well apart Hentai Foundry. that's just objectively shit

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, drawing should be fun!

Hey are there better /ic/ related youtubers than Alphonso Dunn for learning?
He is extremely clear and talented. Wondering you any you follow anyone else.

Dude this guy has some good shit... doubt his book has any information you can't get on his youtube channel though.
These guys always try to wrap the same shit you can get for free into a book
god this makes cross hatching look so easy. Wish he didn't just do pen and ink though. I gave up on that a while back

Its main use i find is presenting the info his vids teach in order from beginner to advanced. If anything, it makes for a good companion to his videos.
I need a new tablet. Right now I've got an OLD, old Wacom Bamboo, the original model. It's getting a bit cramped. Got it for like 30$ on clearance years ago.
Any experience with off-brand shit like Monoprice? I'm looking for a cheap (<60$) upgrade.
>>2596035
I got a Huion 610, about in your price range and easily avaliable on Amazon. I like it!
>>2596045
Sounds good, what OS and how are the features
>>2596035
https://amzn.com/B012F1QD7A Huion - $60 USD
https://amzn.com/B00H4LAF9O Monoprice - $43 USD
Both knock-off brands I've had experience with until I finally bought a used intuos 5. Neither have the resolution of wacom brand intuos, but I doubt that's a serious problem. Features they lack that wacom has is pen tilt, touch, battery-free pens, wireless, and proper driver/software support. You'll have a hard time with drivers if you plug the tablet in without installing drivers from the official site. The only positive I give them is the cheap price for a much larger drawing space while maintaining the 2048 pressure levels, other than that you would be better off getting an old intuos
p.s. - Don't fall for the newer huion/monoprice tablets with the rechargeable stylus, they both made my lines have horrible jitter. That could just be my experience though

Bring us your roughs, your storyboards, your pencil tests etc. Talk about industry, schools, the hopelessness of it all, how we all gonna make it etc.
If you're gonna post animation that isn't yours give source or state that it isn't yours.
Keep shitposting to a minimum. Don't feed the trolls.

I have a signed, 1 of 1, 22'' x 34'', Digital C-Print of Pepe by Matt Furie which I acquired for $900 in 2008.
How much do you think it's worth now?

Is it possible to make thin and neat lines with the Pentel Pocket Brush pen, or is it just not meant for it?
>>2605273
yes it is possible. just barely touch the paper straight from above
>>2605273
My technique is to hold the pen perpendicular to the page and rest my hand on the last joint of my pinky finger to keep the pen a set distance from the page, then lower the pen until the bristles barely touch the page. Then it's just a matter of moving your entire hand along the x and y axis and anticipating how the bristles will bend compared to something like a technical pen. It's doable, but there are better tools for the job if you're looking lay down fine lines of ink.
>>2605287
Yes the thing is with that even with the slightest amount of pressure this goes from not touching the paper at all to the broadest fucking stroke possible
guess I have no choice but to have surgeon like precision desu

I'm pretty sure you can get a better Huion for the same price
>>2604003
Ohgods, I could have warned you about that tablet! It's shit, I've had it (and the smaller model). At first I thought it was fine and I just needed to learn how to use it, but eventually I started suspecting it might not be the case, saved up and bought an Intous 5 (now Intuos Pro) Medium. Man, what a difference! There's nothing you can do to make this tablet good to draw with. Start saving up for something better. Doesn't need to be a Wacom, Huion and some other Chinese brands are pretty decent too. Check the other tablet thread.
>>2604003
adjust the pressure sensitivity
Is it cheating to use a 3D model for sketching bodies?

DELETE THIS
If you enjoy making nothing but shitty, unnatural, deformed, non-dynamic posing and gestures, it's fine

This. At least you'll fix anatomy and perspective issues, but you'll never learn.

Is anyone here subscribed to newmastersacademy? I'm thinking of subscring to them and download a bunch of courses but I don't know if its doable. Has anyone done this? If so, how?
>>2602419
They fixed the exploit not too long ago so it's not possible to download the videos.
I did manage to download quite a bit of the courses. If anyone would like to set up a trade let me know.
>>2602423
Are you willing to share anything?
>>2602428
No, trade or no deal.
