It isn't necessary, but it helps and shit art means you better have a good gimmick or something to compensate.

The skill is obviously there.
But he must have had a stroke or something because the poses are boring as fuck. Except for groot and the dude in the back.
films aren't really known for their stellar conceptual art. case in point being this and ben moro's work on elisium. take a look at video game art.
In painting, Louise Hearman wins the 2016 Archibald Prize for her portrait of Australian comedian, satirist and actor Barry Humphries.

Anon's who gave up drawing, why did you and why are you still here?
I haven't yet but I am pretty close...
>>2601351
b'awww
>>2601351
Don't do it man, what do you have to lose? If you're close to giving up, think of why. Maybe it's because you lack some fundamental skills like rendering, which in turn makes you frustrated, so go back and study it. And if you're on the fundamentals, don't give up, you can't even imagine what cool stuff you'll be doing years from now.
Don't give up, anon.
And stay positive.
How often do you draw a day? What's your daily regimen?
Wake up, eat breakfast, play overwatch for 5 hours, animate a bit of my le ebin youtube parody, eat dinner, sleep, repeat ad nosium.
I draw for an hour a day. I just pick something out I wanna work on and draw it.
>>2597913
If you work, have to pay bills, and don't have a maid that does errands and laundry for you its impossible to have a "daily schedule". That's just how it is.
I recently got a tablet (Wakom Intouos) and im using the program it came with, im looking for suggestions on other programs i can use to draw.
Also if you know what program the artist is using on the pic please post it.
Thanks!

Hi, I did this a piece a while back. I work on non-figurative abstract stuff and don't know how other people perceive my work. I don't have the original piece anymore and for whatever reason neglected to take a plan view photo of it. I appreciate all critique. Thanks.
Something that isn't a dynamic view would be great. Oh and make sure the light doesn't reflect the drawing
>>2606945
This is almost literally unable to be critiqued. It's at the worst possible angle and shows almost nothing of the piece besides some nice darks and clean lines.
If anything this thread should be about critiques on your ability to photograph your work, OP. Post something different.
Good point. Thanks everyone. Here's another thing, scanned this time round. It carries the same style, so it's related to the first.
So, any experience with fiverr? i'm currently making around 1,6 and 2k a month from there, but i gotta work all day and the customer service is pure shit.
Any anons have better altenatives? gonna bump with shit i like.
Also, my first time on /ic/ from /b/, if someone cares. other boards are scary.

>>2606702
How does it work ?
Do we have to be already popular like Kronpr1nz and shit or really talented ?
>>2606702
2K? You serious? I had some luck with fiverr but never really took it seriously.
If you got that much traction you can make extra cash with patreon.
Any good video series on perspective? Or drawing buildings?

First time on /ic/ because I have some serious questions about stop motion and puppet/set production and don't know where to go
I need to know what some good software is that isnt over $50 and if I should buy a stop motion specific camera if I already have a good webcam and/or a quality digital camera
I also plan to carve parts for the puppets out of wood and need a good precision wood carver. Right now I am looking at flexible shaft wood grinders but I am wondering if there is a better alternative
I am currently leaning towards this
https://www.amazon.com/SE-979FSG-Flexible-Grinder-Switch/dp/B000NW4YRK/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
Any tips for a stop motion newbie would be much appreciated because I did some when I was a kid with my legos and free software then I worked with pivot so I have a VERY rough idea of what I'm doing but its been a few years
Recently I've been inspired by Graeme Patterson's "Secret Citadel" and I have a big idea I want to follow
here's a link because it's so fucking good

>>2606533
Sorry for my writing being shit
>>2606533
>that isnt over $50
Being in this entry level, you might want to consider again. Have you ever carved anything?
>>2606559
yes, But I'm kinda shit at carving I really only need to make one puppet for my current idea so Im going to practice on it a lot
and is there really nothing good for under $50?
I tried to do some foreshortening. What does everyone think? I think I did pretty well.
>>2606503
its bad anon, look into learning about perspective. you pretty much drew a guy with a giant leg.
also don't sign your practices. if anything just put the date so you can track your progress
>>2606503
Why do people sign their drawings like that.
Need more perspective , it's just looks like a man with a giant leg.

>inb4 brushes don't matter
Because in this case they do. Part of the appeal of this guys' paintings is that when you zoom in it looks like real gouache. I've tried futzing with the canvas textures in PS and i've tried Kyle's brushes but none of them have the same look.
Anybody have any ideas on how to approach this?
It's simply the result of his own custom brush set. If he didn't make them from scratch, they're likely tweaked from another set to suit his needs.
If you want something similar, you'll need a brush that maintains its sense of stroke, meaning it'll have streaks that tell you the direction it is going.
Some other thoughts are that is has a minor jitter to it (not too much), and likely a texture behind it in the brush settings.
If you want to emulate it, learn how to create brushes (it's very easy) and try to take a cross section of the brush stroke in your picture and recreate it the best you can.
>>2606298
>Because in this case they do.
No they don't. If Simon were to use any other brush for his work, you'd want that one instead.
ive never seen gouache: the thread
