How do you guys go about setting commissions?
I really want to make some money this summer, but I've always been scared about doing commissions. I don't know how much I should charge, how to hold customers accountable, and so forth.
How do you get started in commissioning?

Have a nice portfolio easily accesible. It allows clients to say shit like
>I want something like this, but with this character.
Have an above-beginner skill. People is not buying a drawing, they're hiring a skilled artist to make a drawing.
Always, and I mean ALWAYS ask for 50% in advance.
Anything else, such as payment options, ask another anons.

Here you go. Also, I do not understand your burger stamp reference.

Which system do you use for payment? I heard Paypal doesn't like nudity/raunchy art. I don't do porn though, so maybe I'll be okay?

I remember you posting in a different thread, I remember that pic.
The other anon is talking about $
Do you have an account in DA, Tumblr, IG, patreon...?
If you do post in your bio and make an upload saying that you've decided to open up for comissions, that would be a good beginning.
who made op's pic??

Technically Paypal has no issue with porn in their TOS, they just take no chances that it might be something illegal. They work on a "don't ask, don't tell" basis.
Get an email off the person commissioning and send an invoice through Paypal to them, that way you control everything Paypal sees. If you just give out your Paypal for people to transfer to you, the person might leave a comment that Paypal might not like, whereas invoices don't have that option.

Well, it's best to look at what prices other people are selling their services for, compare skill, flare and style to yours and then consider how much your times is worth. You can take a look at my commission info and ii hope it give you some ideas

What >>2602685 said is very true, always get at least 50% up front.
Now, this is the way i work so this could be different with other artist and yourself. I personally like to keep my client very much informed on what i am doing by sending wips as i work. And, most of the time ill wait till they reply on what they thing before it before going on with the artwork. This helps to avoid any problems later on and helps to avoid redoes and redraws, thus saving you and the clients time.
If you have done commissions before and if the client is ok with this, be willing to share or even post that clients contact information. Think of it as a job references. If you made that client happy then they will say nice things about you to other possible clients.
Also, if you do not do Paypal, you could all ways use E-Bank transfer but not everyone does it.
Hope this helps.

Holy shit that is an awful portfolio. But I guess autists tend to buy shit from other autists.
>>2604579
Holy shit - this is fucking awful.
>Low fees
>fast-food style ordering menu
>abhorrent quality
Anyone who lists their fees before talking to a client about what they want is an unfathomable retard.

>being a slave of the man
fool. no one can serve two masters. either focus on your ART or in not being poor.
>>2604579
>using anything except invoices
>ever
It's like people don't cares about their money. You can make "how_to_use_invoices.jpg" in 1-2 minute. You can use fake names. You will be free from "oh thank for big furry porn bruh" comments that ban your paypal account

Is this true? Fucking shitty if it is. There is no way to hide my name from a client?
