Artists who have patreon, I have a payout question. Do they make you fill out the W-9 form before allowing you to take payout? It looks scary.
>>2608124
> It looks scary.
I filled one out when I was 15 and again when I was 16. Ask your parents for help if in college or a senior in high school (please don't post here underaged), or if you're a pathetic NEET still bunking with them. Easier than it looks.
Keep in mind if you ever make money from freelancing you will be filling out W-9s anyways
Need opinions and critique on this
https://a.clyp.it/ywflzqf0.mp3
is this the adequate board for this
>>2607641
No, /mu/ is.
>>2607654
But its artwork and critique
>>2607786
This is an illustration board. I understand your confusion as someone who's never been here before.
You don't see music samples being posted here. But if you want to argue music is art, then by all means keep posting if you enjoy being told to go to /mu/ or /b/.
http://demos.algorithmia.com/colorize-photos/
So computers learned to color now. What are the chances that us artist will be replaced by computers in the future?
I mean algorithms can already write stories and read emotions from photos. It's not too far fetched.
I'm sweating bullets. Maybe I shouldn't have dropped out of computer science?
>>2604467
It'll never happen because the end times are near.
>>2604467
Are you retarded or just shilling your shitty page?
Either way, fuck off.
>>2604480
No Anon. Try running some of your own paintings and you'll see. This is legit.
Could someone explain this ? It looks really powerful
If you find any other unknown techniques like that just share it
Hey OP, there's a guy who does exactly that technique, check pic related, the elephant guy to the right by devin platts, check it out, he explains the whole process in like 2 hours.
But the thing is I can never follow those steps it's too unnatural to paint like that, just rendering while thinking about the light and everything at once is simpler, try it I guess. But your lineart has to be fucking spot on if you want it to work.
First time postin on /ic/
Tear me a new one!
>>2607112
blog?
>>2607112
Woah, where'd you learn to draw like that anon? You're really quite good, and funny to boot.
*unsheathes Katana
I could kill you and feel nothing!
Studied anatomy for a few weeks, I did not grind like craze but I 've learned quite a few things.
But now I have no idea on what to do as a finished work
And my main concern is how to integrate a character in a perspective.
sounds like you need to keep studying then
Stop studying and just make finished work. This is what all the kids are doing and they're improving faster than anyone on /ic/. You'll naturally pick up things when you draw actual illustrations and know what you suck at and that is when you "draw 25 of X" for the day.
>>2607623
Yeah but as I said there are things I don't know how to do.
Like integrating a character in a perspective
"""It always seems impossible until it is done.""
Created on Day Twenty of the Design Across America Zerflin tour. Quote submitted by Lauren Lofton. Font by Ryoichi Tsunekawa of http://dharmatype.com/.
The quote is attributed as being Mandela's from many sources, thought there are people on Wikiquote researching and tracking down to original origins. At the very least, no earlier publications than 2007 contain the quote. Mandela has been an inspiration to me as a leader and as someone who's committed their entire life to racial equality. It's the perfect way to end this series."
http://art.zerflin.com/item/nelson-mandela/
"Morality is Temporary, Wisdom is Permanent.
The quote lies in a book called Kingdom of Fear: Loathsome Secrets of a Star-Crossed Child In the Final Days of the American Century, penned by Thompson and published in 2003.
The quote was in a response to a story he tells about how when he was 9, he and his friends tipped over a mailbox in front of a bus (the driver of which was especially cruel to him and his friends).
Tampering with mail, of course, is a federal offense, and it brought two Federal Agents to his door.
They began questioning him, accusing him of the deed, and saying that all his friends had ratted on him.
However, he had the gall to question them on this, and when they weren't able to prove they had gotten any confessions or witnesses, they left.
This piece replaces the now-unavailable Lois McMaster Bujold piece that was originally part of the 20 initial Who Said What pieces.
It was later discovered that the Bujold quote was misattributed, and all copies were destroyed."

Are you braindead? Stop doing this
Do they really think they'll be as popular as them ?
>>2607757
>Do they really think they'll be as popular as them ?
Do you really think you'll ever not be a petty talentless fuck when you constantly make threads about people you're jealous of?
When you see somebody with a really similar style to a popular artist is your first assumption they're cashing in, and not that they like that style and they're just a bit uncreative?
I'd like to see your unique (and probably lamentably misunderstood, underappreciated) art style.
>>2607757
Still better than 85.2 % of /ic/
So using someone's aret as a reference point I drew this. Opinions cuz i'm still unsure of my ability, i just feel it falls short of the mark :/
>>2605763
Incredible skill

Do you have a blog ? Are you a mangaka ? Any tips for us ?
where'd you get that 12 color pencil pack?
As the title above say, I don't know jack shit about art but I want to improve,
In basic, drawing techniques where do I start?
In pixel art, where do I start?
Already have wacom
>Pic is my third attempt in pixel art, don't judge
for pixel art use a mouse and ms paint.
read the sticky
don't make your own threads
if you're totally new, stick to pencil and paper for a while
>go to bed thinking you're regressing and that you'll never improve and you've wasted your time and all your dreams are for naught and that you gf is cheating
>wake up and your drawings actually look decent and you can see a lot of improvement and your gf made you some eggs
Why does this happen? It seems like a day or two of distance always makes me like my drawings more.
>>2607717
It's the exact opposite for me and most people, I expect. Go to sleep thinking everything is awesome and wake up to some cringy crap.
It's normal. Worrying is an important function for human beings. Try meditation to calm your mind.
>go to bed depressed
>wake up depressed
>gets some ideas
>too lazy and depressed to do anything
Cry me a river.
What is symbol drawing everyone's talking about? I see it posted as a criticism all the time but I don't get it.
>>2607546
its when you draw from your head without looking up at a reference while you are not good enough.
It's drawing symbols in your mind instead of thinking in forms. You can draw anime as if the character is three dimensional or you can mash up eyes, noses, hands without thinking of the actual from.
>tfw we will never have the perfect digital art program due to tech giants and their patents
what else do you need thats not already in photoshop?
>>2607132
mileage
>>2607124
>falling for the digital meme
enjoy wasting your time tweaking presets and shortcuts whilst true art hone their skills
What is the right/best way to sigh your artwork?
>>2606842
just write your name small
it should be done in less than 5 seconds
>>2606876
Why 5 seconds?
>>2606876
Amount of time spent depends entirely on the intricacy of the signature and the medium being used. Your five second rule is retarded.
