What do you guys think of Hilas art?
link to her website for more pics http://www.hilaklein.com/
I like the way they've developed. The pictures that look like they are from a zine are more interesting than celebrety photo redraws. So it feels like the person is moving somewhere but they aren't ripe jet.

Looks like the same puerile shit Carroll Dunham excretes on a regular basis.
I like it
This is my first post so sorry if I fuck it up
I've been working on this piece using graphite for like 20 hours already
that's a big nostril
>>2601510
Pretty ok.
I'd like to see more of your creative side though. Post in the draw thread instead of making a new one, beginner thread if you need to

Also does anyone have experience with him?

bump
Start with his fundamental series. seriously.
>>2609336
Book series or video series?
And do I have to pay?
Sup /ic/
This is you: you know jackshit about art. All you know is that there is a lot of money to be made in abstract art because people are retarded. You know how to take a shit on a painting and you have. Now you're going to sell that shit.
This is your goal: to make as much money as possible via your 'art'.
How would you go around this?
It depends more on who you know and luck than the ability to sell yourself
I guess just ask around and if no one buys it call it a day?
>>2604747
I'm pretty fascinated by people who have made a lot of money via this way. How did others start out?
make it aesthetically pleasing by using a variety of textures and satisfying blends of colours. Create colours that fit well within the sea of other colours. Use composition to draw the eye to particularly interesting textures and colours. Use blends that evoke different emotions, or combine techniques to evoke seemingly complex emotions (eg using rough textures with soft, springlike colours wow so deep). That's basically it to making abstract art. Find your style and roll with it.
From there try to sell prints or originals from any venue you can. Selling in person is key since buyers will like to see the art right in front of them. This is easier if you can travel to small local places or legally set up on roadsides or street corners (even better around tourist areas). Don't price too high, and try to be able to pump out a decent piece of shit in a couple hours or less. Do small paintings until you can make good money on big ones. Tourists and people on drugs love this shit so festivals and "summer towns" are probably good places to start. Try to get a facebook presence and sell prints via that. Etsy is shit don't bother with it unless you're absolutely slaying.
New thread
I messed up on the head and gave up. Gonna make it.

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The site is currently in the alpha phase of development and is being built around us as we compete so sometimes things go wrong. If you ever need any help send me a tweet @LavaFlake or shoot me an email [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>A new Last Artist Standing challenge starts every week. If you get eliminated then get it together and rejoin next week.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>This is a way to let new artists join in and to allow re-entry for the eliminated. Every week a new challenge is started. If you joined on week 1 and make it to week 2 then your daily submission counts for both the first and second Last Artist Standing. If you get eliminated then you're eliminated from both challenges and you'll be able to rejoin next week.
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

Being first is my destiny
I did this a few years ago, and while i have improved a lot, I still consider myself an amateur by far.
the problem is is that i still use this process or something similar, and i don't know to to move forward.
can anyone suggest a way to improve?
read the sticky-icky.

Every face is shaded in much the same way, with the same brightness.
I think you were trying to make the faces look flat, as though they had been cut with a saw, in which case each face should be clearly different to the adjacent face and of fairly uniform colour.
This effect can be improved by removing the black outlines.
unseen universal forces, that permeate politics, religion, economics and human relations.
You sunk my battleship
You spend hours. sometimes days on a piece for what?
Just so people can look at it for 5 minutes, then forget about it?
5 minutes is pretty generous; I doubt I look at even the most complex pieces for more than 30 seconds, but stuff I like I'll revisit again and again.
With the hope that it will impact few people and leave a delicate mark in their mind.
Because I enjoy drawing.
I want to start drawing pixel art so I drew a dodo bird. Please tell me what you think.
Not bad. Looks like a cross between a Dodo and an ostritch.
Did you use any blur effects? Seems tedious to place all those shades of pixels individually like that.
>>2606021
Start over by erasing everything but the outlines and pick a light source. Use a limited palette. The gradients looks bad and do not make any sense.
>>2606021
It looks like the sprite of a shitty dos game.
Get good at art -> do pixel art.
With Breeding Season being in the recent news, it's made me go back to thinking about trying to make pixel art. Do any artists on /ic/ do pixelated art?
Who are some good artists to follow who do good pixel art? Beginning tips?
>>2602586
Oh I didn't see that, I'm sorry! Thank you!
Also FYI, shwigs stuff isnt really pixel art, its binary painting, something that simulates pixel art a little bit.
Hey! ~~
